Couldn't resist taking a moment to thank Harry Lorayne for writing my favorite magic book of all-time: Close-Up Card Magic. I went through his book page by page when I was a teenager and 50 years later my favorite trick is still one from his book. I don't recall the name of the trick, but three spectators pick a card and the cards end up between 4 aces in the middle of the deck. I saw Harry several times at Tannen's Magic store on Broadway and was lucky enough to watch him perform for 45 minutes straight there for a bunch of us magicians. He had to be coaxed, it took a short while to get him to do a trick, but he kept going and going and amazed and amazed. His energy was contagious and his love of card magic was inspiring. I will always be grateful to him.
Old guys who are still sharp of mind are the best. But he's devoted his life to memorizing card tricks, and in fact memory in general, so his mind is still young. Lots of people just vegetate after they get out of school and so their minds deteriorate.
the mere mention of this guy i had people try to rip this stuff off me no one knew how to get it i was now musing over illusions as well as magic other topics being wizards though with sleight of hand and other tricks seeing i didn't learn professional card tricks blank decks is this your card etc.
I think he has a spare deck under the table sorted in a specific order which he has memorized. We know he can ruffle through a deck of cards to find what he needs so he probably goes under the table after he's done all the mixing of the cards. Swaps the mixed deck with the sorted deck and quickly flicks through it using touch to find the fours and have them all sorted together. If so it's still not an easy feat though and still impressed!
Actually what he does right in front of the spectators is how the trick is done. There is literally no sleight of hand with this and it's a killer trick!
Sadly, Harry passed away today at 96. R.I.P. Harry, you were one of the greats in my lifetime!
his energy is contagious! at 90 he is fooling the heck out of other magicians . what more can be said ! god bless him
I really pray to God I live a life like Harry Lorraine Dia Vernon Tony Slydini
This man is the proof that if you keep your mind trained, you can be energic and "alive" even after the age of 90. Amazing !
he is 90 at this point of time...amazing :)
His "super power memory" book is still an awesome practical book on memory. He's a memory master👍

Not only is his memory recall great but he can capture events in an instant
96 as of today and still with us
Well, now he's dead
Just saw him on a Johnny Carson re-run from 1988 - and he's still around! Amazing guy.
Just seen him performing on a show from 1958!
A master of magic ! Legend
I have been looking for this video and finally found it! I saw an alternate version of this routine, but this one is definitely the best one
This man is a legend !

I'm happy to see Mr. Lorayne so good. I'm 40 and I don't have this energy.
We will be indebted to you for your dedication and contribution to the art of card magic forever always a pleasure to see you in action👌🏻
One of my favourite magicians ever! Rest in peace❤
Fantastic..
a MASTER has Gone But Never Forgoten
Great guy! Funny thing is that I can perform this trick but I never understood how it’s possible it comes out correctly
Such a fun trick!
Great stuff and very inspirational!
Harry Lorayne was one of the best!
Miss you Harry
Love this routine I use it all the time
Where did you learn it mate?
@@TheMagickev On his 4 set dvd
The fact he can still perform and moves his hands like that at the age of 90 shows something T.T
probably being controlled by an I.T.
Wow... Love it
Fantastic.
Love that routine
Respect❤
I learned the classic force from "The Magic Book."
I know how to do this one, and can do it, but he has got the talk down so well.
RIP good Sir!
So cute and so simple!
If you mean the trick, he just makes everything look easy, lol. If you mean the man himself... then I can't disagree there ;)
Nice
Do I see Paul Gertner ?
Rest in piece Sir A true legend
Where is this written up?
is that paul gertner with him?
Yes it is.

Principle can be found in "dear mister fantasy", and maybe "high caliber" both books by John Bannon.
You can find from "A million card tricks "UA-cam channel 😊😊
If I lived to 190, I couldn't comprehend how this works.
Where can we learn this trick?

Great trick, but it would be a better presentation if he let someone else turn over the fours.
better if he let someone else do the trick
well
sounds like stan lee from spider man
It's mathematical
Yeah but they were always backwards in the deck that’s how it started
What is this effect called and where is it published?

@@davegann4178 You could of kept that to your self. Give harry some respect as a magician.
stripper deck, easy but good presentation
It must be really painful to grow old as a magician
Slydini used to call him "Fart Box Harry" because he stunk.
What a dumb trick. He's better than that.
You’re card trick doesn’t work
Cody Stack maybe you suck.
Ron Magic thank you maybe I do suck.
I LOVE YOU HARRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
