They had to turn, he is amazing, the reason they probably didn’t is the lack of knowledge and understanding for country music as it’s none of their area of expertise
Ive just watch every 4 chair turn in voice 2023, most of them merge into one sound . Many sound like a tortured cat. Only one was as unique and different as this man is . Ok he needs to do some work and he doesnt fit the standard boy band model but he has a sound and he has a good voice. He deserved a chance sadly today every 'pop ' star has to fit the mould both voice and figure in order to make it..
I appreciate this comment, it’s honest. The performance was about entertainment, I don’t think there was ever a plan for me to get a turn… it wasn’t the best, that’s for sure because the monitors on stage are so low, you can’t hear the band. I could only hear the drummer and the crowd…couldn’t hear my vocals, couldn’t hear my guitar so it was like singing deaf. I cringe when I listen back because this is not what I normal sound like
@@BobStrachanMusic Ive never watched the full show, so I had no idea about some of the points you make 13 hour day , not being able to hear the band etc, to be honest I watch clips on you tube while I do the dreaded ironing and yours stood out in a good way, I went on to listen to more of your music and I really think you fit a place that isnt covered in todays market so keep at it..👍
One thing the UK lacks is a country coach like they have in the US. Blake who was the longest serving coach in the US won with AMAZING country artists from the start and some who weren’t amazing at the start but coached them to be amazing. Reba McEntire who replaced Blake is the same. That’s what we need in the UK. To be honest I liked the song, just needed work which is what the coaches are for but to be fair , I’ve been in the audience and there’s only so many spaces. Keep up the great work
it wasn’t my choice of song…I much prefer the ballads and I’m more in line with Don Williams or Jim Reeves. we had to fit the song into 90 secs so it had to be faster but then I couldn’t hear the band or myself… had to guess for most of it. I think it sounds pretty bad but folks wanted to see it.
It’s too bad that the judges didn’t turn around, I thought your performance was unique and stood out more than the competition who all sounded similar. The Voice must be a very hard Tv show to even get on in the first place, so congrats for being featured on the show. How many times did you have to audition?
Hey, thanks! Getting to the final 80 out of 15,000 was pretty special but you sometimes wonder how much is pre planned ahead of time. It’s not the song I wanted to do and lots of issues including me not hearing anything except the drummer…couldn’t hear myself so had to guess at a few notes. There were 3 auditions in the process before the blind.
I'll never understand why the coaches ( no matter what country you watch The Voice ) cover the button with their hand as if they are going to turn when they know full well they are not going to press it. They even have a knack of not screwing their faces up, as if the chalk is screeching on the blackboard, just in case the camera catches them.
Everlast's cover was much better. I listened to this dude and thought "this song is about bad decisions and personal tragedy. Why is he singing it as an upbeat sociopath?" Not good in my opinion.
@@BobStrachanMusicTry doing the real blues number, Crescent City Blues. It is both trickier and more beautiful than the plagiarized Johnny Cash rehash
@@michaeltutty1540this wasn’t the song I wanted to do…But that’s what they chose. I wanted to do “you’re my best friend” . I love more technical songs with emotion, FPB was just about the hype and to get the crowd going.
It wasn't a good performance, that's very true...but after a 13 hour day, an already sore through and cough, it still did the job to get the crowd going. You don't see this but on TV but its incredibly hard to hear the monitors on that stage so many singers have issues with pitch simply because they can't hear. Plus, you don't often get to pick the song you want to sing.
Just got to go on X factor Bob or BGT lovely hearing you in Jed before Christmas I was the lad that had to clean the mad Friday sick up (well never had to clean it up but not nice for the tourists to see )
Harder still to beat Beverly Mahr who originally sang the Crescent City Blues written by Gordon Jenkins. Johnny Cash was charged with, and convicted for plagiarism and had to pay royalties to Gordon Jenkins. Too bad nobody remembers what the song really sounds like.
Cash took the melody for the song and many of the lyrics from Gordon Jenkins's 1953 Seven Dreams concept album, specifically the song "Crescent City Blues".[5] Jenkins was not credited on the original record, which was issued by Sun Records. In the early 1970s, after the song became popular, Cash paid Jenkins a settlement of approximately US$75,000 following a lawsuit.[6][7]
Why does everyone do the plagerised Country version of this beautiful old blues number, Crescent City Blues. The original, because of the blues harmonies, is both more beautiful and more difficult to sing properly.
Wrong, You’re listening to something else, everyone in the room loved it, just because they didn’t turn doesn’t mean they disliked it it’s just that they don’t know enough about that kind of music
Cash brought this song, pretty serious. This guy made a joke out of it. I do agree, the coaches didn't turn. Period.

incomprehensible that no one pushes us, we have to listen to their shitty music from the jury to puke.🤮
I saw it. Love that you took a shot. Super iconic song. It just didn't quite work.
Not my first choice of songs but its reality tv and certainly a poor performance after a 13 hour day

He sounds like he’s a lazy singer, I’m sorry he’s got a good range, but he’s not good at hitting a note or staying on it.

Nonsense and your opinion, the judges didn’t turn because they either don’t know enough about country music and maybe their teams were getting full
He ain’t that good
He’s not good, he’s great. He will be a star maybe not on the voice but if it was the USA voice they’d all turn
Started out really, really good, then went straight to hell in a hand basket!!! Worst rendition I've ever heard!!!!!!!!!
