Grand National Circle Boat Final Heat - Burley, ID 2021

- On our recent trip up to Burley Idaho for the Idaho Regatta on the Snake River, we got the opportunity to put on board GoPro cameras on Kaylee Hiebert's Grand National Boat. The Hiebert Family is a Father Daughter race team. They are very active in the circle boat racing community on the West Coast. You will see Kaylee and her father Heath Hiebert dominating at all of the circle boat races. Kaylee's boat is a Rayson Craft V-Drive with a 427 Chevy with Blown Injection. Though she is only 23 with 6 years racing experience, but still beats the pants off a lot of the veterans of the sport.
During this final 20 lap heat, Kaylee finished 2nd with her father, Heath, finishing 1st!
The Grand National Class owes its heritage to the marathon races of the 60's and 70's. Racers that covered 100 to 500 miles or timed events such as the Parker or Miami 9 hour endurance races challenged hull and engine builders to supply their drivers with the best equipment. With the National Championship at stake, today's drivers will follow three basic rules: run hard, run hard, and run long. GN Racers have learned that to finish first, you must first finish. The best v drive racing video I’ve ever seen.
She is a great driver and the video quality is outstanding.
Huge props to Kaylee, her dad & her team! New viewer was riveted from beginning to end of video. Thank you so much for producing & making this content available! 👍👏
I have viewed this very intense race about 20 times because it IS THE BEST RACE video ever. I agree with the many comments posted. For me the WOW factor went thru the roof. My dad was a auto mechanic and helped friends with "hot" boat engines. We attended many races, especially at Marine Stadium in the 50's and 60's. I used to ski drag races and open water ski endurance races. Rason Craft and Chevy engines were a solid combo. Cameras showed crisp, sharp images that made me feel like I was secret passenger seat next to the driver. I want more. Great driving skills too. Thanks. George.
I agree, best racing video I have ever seen. Great driving. so good.
Such a rad video! Thanks so much!
Thank you for letting us film you!
I already knew your Dad was crazy, but after watching this video now it's clear you're crazy too. Much respect to you Kaylee! See you this weekend in Long Beach!
Great run Kaylee, proud of you!!!
@@SoCalJetBoats This is not one of but the best video and editing of these monster boats on you tube. Kaylee is awesome. I was cheering out loud for her to catch dad. More vids like this .
Kaylee more videos please.that was amazing.thank you so much.every drive should do this.kaylee is skilled and smart.wow!!!!
Best video on youtube. Best editing, best boat and driving. Awesome does not begin to describe Kaylee. More please...thanks
Wow!!! Top notch video! I was fortunate enough to watch guys like Lou Brumett, Bob Nordskog, Rudy Ramos back in the day. Don McCormack from Oklahoma City was another. I don't think those guys had near the horsepower modern GN boats have today.. Hard to imagine a young lady driving one these beasts as hard as she did. Really awesome video and much respect.
We need another video of Kaylee....Yours is the best I have ever viewed.....I just keep watching this over and over.....
This weekend is the Idaho Regatta. I plan on sticking cameras on another boat. Stay tuned!
I drove a boat similar to this, Hallett with 468 and tunnel. There is nothing I have ever done that is as exciting as driving a 100 mph boat. She did fantastic and I think this is the best racing video I have ever seen. Nice job, great camera work, and had us in the seat with you. So good!!
Nothing like the sound of a blown, fuel injected Rat motor ..... sounds like, Victory.
Awesome driving out there, Kaylee !! Thanks SoCal Boats for sharing. I grew up in Bakersfield ... home of Ming Lake - many a drag boat races I've watched.
Some fine driving and race craft. Well done!
Got love it when she closed door on that Rayson Craft that had done it to her twice. He got a little taste of some water after that turn.
You young lady have mad driving skills. That is an awesome video.
Cool, great camera views, sound and impressive driving. Kudos to the engine builder and team too. Very consistent setup. Thanks for sharing.
Great run Kaylee! Excellent video really shows what it's like!
She's driving the hell out of that boat I need to go to this again

Nice 👍 beautiful boat
YOU GO GIRL, ROCK N ROLL!!!
Great driving for a bad start. Worked your way around a lot of boats. Got caught up in a
lot of soup and washed down a few times. Looks like you got second, your a hard charger. Great race.
Beautiful drive!!!
The sound of freedom
That was fun. Thanks for the ride
Fun to hear and watch!
That young lady made daddy proud. She can drive the crap out of that boat. Foot in that big block all the way!!!!
I'm exhausted just watching you!
Damn, this video makes this racing look even more crazy. I would be backing out of the throttle all the time feeling out of control. Wild ride!
Got the sounds perfect! Nice setup on the boat. Runs awesome!!!
How exciting!!! Loved the video!!! It's the next best thing to being there in person. I do agree with Eric though. You and your dad a definitely crazy!!!
Looks like fun...albeit expensive fun. She can drive that's for sure.
That was cool!
To run 1 and 2 is domination GREAT RACE TEAM
great!!!
That was intense …. Really intense…. 99 mph and a turn just ahead
Damn good racing
Memang sukan lumba power boat bro 1hingga 20 pusingan best2 k
Those turns are brutal, I bet that used some alky up at 70 -100mph for 20 laps
She's one bad azz driver
WOW .. bad ass
Skills 👍
What a rush 😮 My first
real boat ride lol👍
Not bad for her first time out.👍👍
That motor is right. Smooth as silk and sounds like she has way more to give if you wanna get rough.
Total control shown when that buoy was there..
Wonder what percentage gears they run in the v-drive. She's a Bad Ass driver !
Two things. 1) she's got more skill and stones than just about anyone I've watched saw a wheel. 2) who's the engine builder,?
It says it on the dash. Motor magic racing engines.
Motor Magic in Bellflower Ca builds the motor. Says so any way she n the dash.
You literally missed the biggest sponsor graphic in the whole video. It was literally in your face for like 20 minutes, lol. Sorry, I don't want to be mean, but this is freaking hilarious! 🤣
How many warmup laps are required?
Do you even the weight to offset her on one side?
What connecting rods do most the GN boats use? Aluminum or steel?
Carrillo
👍
How do you keep the motor from ingesting water when you get roosted
Hahaha, backwards scoop
No rod holders☹️
Sweet I've had that exact chopper.
Who is the Girl?
Think Im falling in love
cringe
Congrats women! You are now as insane as the men.
Tdk ada leval kami bro sorri ok
Big block on a popsicle stick" throttle work in the wake chop & turns & the wind. got to be safer than a dugout canoe with twin turbo four-cylinder diesel blasting down the canals, the gas a monster motor like to that inhales I'm surprised of the run time,
Couldn't find a better one to finish second to if you tried. Great drive!
That's nice but can it pull a skier?
Colorado Springs Colorado USA gots TEGRIDY
Now sure why it wouldn't be able to. Would you be up for the challenge?
Low power sorri ok bro
l'argent ne fait pas le bonheur ...des pauvres qui n'en ont pas ...pour les autres simple formalité !!!!! mais je reconnais que cette demoiselle a des "balls"
Lean the seat to the left. Your welcome.
my skeeter bass boat is faster holds girls and beer!
Yeah right!
I’m sorry what’s the point. The driver and boat can last 20 laps I’ll take drag raising any day over this Nice boat
So in drag racing same thing. Hoping you last for a quarter. I love drag racing but watching her pick them one at a time. I think 2 more laps she might have caught Dad, She drives the snot out of it. How many RPM's has that ole 427 turned for 20 laps. No break, just grinding out those R"s.....
I'm guessing that you might not be a fan of Nascar. Go fast, turn left.
Rayson Craft No. 1, Go Rudy……What a guy..
Why do they all launch on the 10 second mark?
In a La Mans start, they count down from 60 giving the teams enough time to be ready to go. The flag goes up at 20 seconds remaining and the flag man drops the flag at any point between 20 and 0 at his discretion, signaling the start of the race. I've been told the original start to this race had the drivers out of the boat on the shore, leaving them to have to run to their boat, jump in, hook up the lanyard, fire it up and take off. Obviously not the safest thing so now they just launch while sitting in the boat. Some races they are held on the beach by their crew rather than at a dock like this race.
