Operating systems offer extensive access to hardware through APIs, so his excuse for not using React Native because he does not know it is invalid. Kids everywhere are learning these frameworks. Anyone who gets so defensive over random strangers just giving advice and suggestions or opinions would be horrible to work with. Imagine working with him and his reaction to suggesting a red square button instead of a blue round button. In the future, people will stop giving him help and ignore him. There was no need for this rant over a few people suggesting using React Native.
Well I guess you know better about your situation. I would still strongly advise using one language for synergy and speed, even with a team of 2-3. Given that you want native features, I would recommend using the language you expect most of your users would be using. Trying to target both markets will stretch you thin with such a small team. It is a startup and you will have to make a lot of tradeoffs. It is just how it is. Expecting perfection from the start will only result in frustratiion. You might think I don't have any experience, but I have been in the startup trenches as well. I do not mean to criticize, only advice. Whether you want to regard it or not, that's entirely up to you

You’re too tribalistic in tech. Nobody is going to give you 150k unless they see revenue. Launch iOS to get some revenue. It doesn’t matter if user experience is clunky. Clubhouse was on iOS for a while before they gained enough revenue for Android. Build a product, launch it, make money, then pitch to investors.
