If Mookie has to play shortstop that means he has to come in early to practice fielding, right? Wasn't that the reason why he was in an offensive funk in May and June before he got hurt? That he was too tired or didn't have time to focus on hitting? His slugging % in May was .390 and in June .358. We're probably going to get someone like that, not the guy who hit 39 homers playing less demanding positions (RF and 2B) last year.

It’s not about knowing what spin rate is and how it helps pitchers. It’s about understanding the psychology of the game, what it takes to win it all, and how you factor that into player acquisitions. He understands ZERO of that because he never competed in anything. He just goes off stats and analytics. Anybody who thinks we can win with Kershaw in any role in October after 10+ years falls into the same category. It seems obvious to me that the problem with the offense is the current lineups don't stress opposing pitchers. Insert Mookie, Max and hopefully wake up Will's bat and the story is totally different from the opposing pitchers' perspective. Patience is a virtue and, now more than ever, needed.

The Dodgers desperately need starting pitching and depth in the starting lineup. Betts is coming back, but the Calvary is not coming with Muncy, Edmunds, Rosario or anyone else. Right now, I see the Dodgers losing in the divisional round again and unfortunately, Roberts could be the fall guy.
