Great tutorial, but when I have a scope consists of many dataflows(do not make sure the longest running time dataflow), I want to make sure all of the dataflows completes before the action of refresh a dataset. How can I do. Thank you so much
Fernan, I still have few questions. 1. When we are refreshing the dataset via the power automate process you have shown, do we still need to turn on the schedule refresh in Power BI dataset?, I guess at least turn it on, but no need to set up time, is that correct? 2. Another thing is, why still we need to use this vs schedule refresh that is available in Power BI? Thanks
Interesting video. But it does not ensure that your dataset will be refresh at 7:30. It just ensure your dataset will start to refresh. My concern is that there is no native feature to trigger when a dataset refresh is over.
Did you find any solution for this? I have the same problem. I need to ensure that the dataset has been refreshed and trigger the following steps start. It looks like this current action just ensures that the data will start to refresh.
When we say when a dataflow refresh completes, does it mean only succeeded? Or can it also mean failed? Also how can we run multiple dataflows one after other? Do we need to keep the step of "when a dataflow refresh completes" after every dataflow refresh step??
Hey there, great questions! to answer them individually: - the dataflow trigger means when it succeeds, not when it fails - I've only ever worked with one trigger and a string of actions within one dataflow, I always created a new automated flow with the "when a dataflow refresh completes" trigger
Hi great content thanks. Is there any way to know the error when the dataflow fail, I manage monitoring my dataflow but I only know the status (success/failed) but not the error message :(
Hi Antoine! I'm pretty sure a pre-made template is available for you to use as a trigger if your dataflow is successful or not. I covered it in an old video I remember, where I refresh the Power BI dataset when the dataflow refresh completes. Anyway, here's more info on the flow: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-query/dataflows/dataflow-power-automate-connector-templates
How many refreshes can possible for Pro account with power automate. As we know 8 times is refresh limit for Pro account when we setup in power bi service. What is share point list updates more than 8 times will it refresh beyond that??
hello fernan For the update to be successful, is a gateway necessary? Because in both flows power automate finishes successfully, but when I return to Power BI in the dataset it shows me an error about credentials. Data source error: The scheduled upgrade appears to have failed because at least one data source is missing credentials. To start the update again, go to the settings page for this dataset and specify the credentials for all data sources. I have a student account, but I activate the pro option for 60 days, could that be the problem?
Hi Luis, this should not require Pro or Gateways to work, as long as all your data sources are stored online, these should work as expected. Check your data source credentials settings on Power BI Service, sometimes this needs reauthenticating
I want to trigger another flow after the data set have been refreshed I don't know when my power bi file get completely refresh , after the file get refrehed the flow should start
nice video, How to configure for VIEWS which is available in aws athena. When VIEWS refreshed in data source then automatically data set should refreshed. How to configure power automate for this ?
Hello, not with this solution, which part of the process does this error occur? most common issue usually is authentication so check that your credentials are up to date
Nc explain give me ur num i want training or ur videos or else please do a video how to automate instead of share point use hive or denodo please do that video

great tip. thank you for sharing
Great video as usual . Is there a way to use power automate to receive notifications (via email for example) when the DATASET refresh fails
Thanks for sharing! Really usefull and practical solution. I'll try to implement it, for sure!! 👍
Great to hear that, good luck!

Thank you-- can this be run from a Service Account?
Hi there, yes of course! As long as the service account has access to the SharePoint site and a Power BI license
Your vlog contents are great, i just wished it could be more "zoomed-in" though so we could appreciate it more🤗
Hi I'll keep that in mind, thanks for the feedback!
This video is a wow!
Hi frenan, how to do the flow if we have multiple four dataflow and one dataset ? Thanks
When the new file came in share point then how it will be fit in model in report?

hey master , I got some problems in my project pfe and I need your help if you don't mind please
can we just automatically refresh a certain data model in power bi ??

@@SolutionsAbroad yes I used this steps to create my dataflow monitoring but I don't have the error message when the Dataflow failed :/
Hi Frenan, can we implement power automate in Oracle database instead of a SharePoint folder? Since our data for power bi lies in Oracle database.
Can you please do the same operation for sql instead of SharePoint

Hi there, not sure about AWS, but if its an online source then it should be able to schedule its refresh
What can we do if we have data from SQL database?
How to refresh many dataSet (not one many dataSet) in workspace
Hii, how to create this lineage dataflow, please guide
Can we get a notification if the dataset failed to refresh
I'm trying something similar but I have been getting a 400 error - Bad Request. Did you have some similar issue?

@@SolutionsAbroad I will answer on your linkedin. ok?
I don't see my dataset inside "my workspace" :(

This is legacy and no longer optimal form.
