- Good morning! This week I am taking you along with me as I show you some of my favorite shops and restaurants in downtown Durham, NC. I really enjoyed putting this video together because it gives you a personal glimpse inside how I like to spend an afternoon in my own home town.

I just love downtown Durham. Thank you for taking us along. For someone who hasn't visited yet, they are in for some good food, drinks and all around fun atmosphere. I really enjoy seeing different cities from a locals perspective or even wanting to explore like one. Where are you off to next?

This Sunday I will be showing you my trip to Brimfield, Massachusetts where I pick up some amazing thrifted and vintage finds. In a couple of weeks I’ll be attending an amazing local pop-up dinner, and then I’m off to Mexico in October. With lots of fun videos in between. It’s going to be a great next several months so get ready!!!

Ahhh! At last I am back to enjoy my Sunday pleasure. I have missed my sweet treat for the last two weeks. I couldn't make it. I didn't want to be rushed. This is a flavor I like to savor. The music the ambiance everything is just perfect and I treasure it. Thank you so much for being really creative. and making every Sunday an adventure. 💕

It’s so good to see some of my best memories of NC. I especially miss the beaches. Oh my, the food and cocktails were everything. Just looking at it made me feel that I could almost taste it. Lol
And Jessica, just hearing you say in your videos “It makes me happy,”
makes me happy. I just smile to myself when I hear you say that because it reminds me of how happy I am with just the simple things. Thank you for sharing all these amazing adventures.

Elease and I have to make this trip! I love the "compactness" of this journey! I am not as mobile as I use to be so this works well for me!!! I love plants, I love cocktails, I LOVE burgers and I love ice cream! I don't see how I could miss making a pilgrimage to Durham! Love it Jessica!!!!

I just love spending the day in Wrightsville Beach - it’s so beautiful and relaxing. Now I just need to figure out how to own a house on the beach! 😆 lol!!!!

It really is! The city has so much to offer - great local diverse restaurants, lots of cultural and arts events, and it doesn’t hurt that it’s only 2 hours from the ocean! 😆

I really enjoy your content. Your trip to Charleston SC inspired me. My husband and I are going there, but first we are doing a 3 day getaway in NC. The first day we are going to Asheville NC to Blue Ridge Parkway to see the mountains. They are breathtaking on video and said to have some of the best Mountain View’s in the country. From there we will be headed to Charlotte NC for food, fun and relaxation. Thanks for the inspiration. You are beautiful as well. Natural beauty which is the best. Were you raised in New York?

I can’t wait to hear all about it! 😆 No I was born and raised in Ohio, right outside of Cleveland, but lived in NYC a for many years and loved that experience. I always said I’d move back - but now I’m really enjoying my much calmer and quieter life!

Like you , I LOVE NYC , but the high cost & all the rest makes it a non option for me as far as living there goes. My daughter & her fam are now in Durham ! I don’t drive so I NEED walkability ! Could you share the name of the building you lived in ? And maybe the cost if rent there, too ? I miss my Grand Daughter, & she misses me. I gotta make this move happen ! Thank you so much ! I really do love Durham and it was a perfect transition city for me to come to after NYC! I lived in the Liberty Apartments and LOVED them. I was paying about $1400 a month for almost 700 sq ft. Not cheap - and I’m sure the prices have jumped since I lived there - but it’s wonderful to be able to walk to any and everything. The farmers market is right across the street. Tons of restaurants and bars right downstairs, and then everything else is just a short walk away. I will say you may need a car for Target and grocery store runs BUT you could always get an Uber or have things delivered. I think you will be happy here - it’s really hard not to be! 😆
Where do you get your book recommendations. I saw you reading the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I picked up a copy and loved it.
I have a friend that loves to read and she’s always passing titles down to me! She never disappoints. Have you read It Ends With Us yet by Colleen Hoover? If not, that’s a good one too! It’s being made into a movie and the next part of the book comes out next month called It Starts with Us!
