My bearings were going out in mine and you are the only one on here that showed how to take the thing apart I had to watch it a couple of times to see what tools you used that would be handy if you would add that very good video thanks
Brushes are replaceable, but I don't know what the part number might be because motors vary all over the place. I have made many videos showing removal and replacement on other motors though.
You made it look easy, but that rubber sealing ring that joins the two halves together is my nemesis....

This video is so invaluable! I just purchased my own CXL and I’m curious about something, what kind of tool do you need to remove the roller balls?
If you mean bearings, you use a bearing puller. Mine was about $7.
Oh no my mistake I should said “how to remove those ball casters” and thanks again!
Have you ever replaced the brushes? Mine are sparking and need replacing I think. I already sanded the commutator so it's nice and clean.

@@VacLab It's from a Trip Star CXL. The number on the motor is 6884-49.

@@VacLab Great! Thanks so much for the help!
Mine show spark but how you polished up the bearings on the motor in the TriStar CXL 50th anniversary edition vacuum
Polished the bearings?
Why don’t you have a work bench? What is that soap stone you use to clean the Armature? Great video
What tool did you use to remove the bearing? I like your video. Thank you!
Bearing puller from eBay. About $8.
@@VacLab Thank you so much!
Bearings are going out on my C-7. where can I get a "hot-rodded" motor. And/or where can I find replacement bearings? thanks
I find everything on eBay.
What type of fan would I need to get for this? mine is an old Compact machine and the fan has worn through where it goes on the shaft.
Go to partswarehouse.com for part numbers. Or replace the entire motor.
Whats the piece that you are shining called. Thanks
The commutator.
Well, what kind of motor was used for replacement?
Read description for model replacement model used.
