I once had an assembly where it was just a lady talking about how she was pressured to drink and as she was saying her sob story the students were all clapping at the parts that were supposed to be sad and it was funny since the principle punished us by making us stay longer. During classes.
then they clapped until the school year ended and they continued clapping until school ended, they clapped until the end of the world, and they still clapped, because anything is better then going back to class
You forgot the part where a few of the students start talking, and the staff interrupts the presentation to shout at them. Basically every middle school assembly.
You just have to have that teacher that knows that one look that when one student sees it they shush all the other students because they fear for their lives as they should
Our senior year, we had a whole class assembly. A guy was brought in to stress the importance of our time in highschool and how valuable college was. He had great things to say, HOWEVER, he was a very southern gentleman (I went to school in a town called Cumming In Georgia) and he would say “High Skoo.” The whole class laughed every time, i felt bad, but it was so funny. He was good sport about it
Bro my school’s “don’t drive drunk assembly” (that they do before prom to scare people) was a whole production in the parking lot. They got an ambulance and a fire truck, and a couple of theater kids to pretend to be dead or injured while everyone watched them get carried away on stretchers. Complete with a car out front with a hole through the windshield with blood around it. People left crying. Idk if that’s normal or...
My high school did it on the high school football field. Acted out by students in SADD, fire and police, ambulance, even the coroner. It was a who production.
We had one about texting and driving back from a football game and same they had a wrecked car flipped upside down outside and we all sat there watching them carry people away on stretchers while a police man was talking to one girl to get the story and they even had a helicopter there to life flight one of the girls. Then we went back inside to have a “funeral” for the one girl who died. Then a really LONG court session that resulted in the driver of the car getting prison time for being on their phone while the other girls were pushing her to do so to Snapchat a boy they liked. The other girls ended up blind, and paralyzed and nothing happened to the driver she was fine. It was definitely exhausting and so many people were extremely upset because they’ve lost people to accidents (including myself since my big brother was killed in one) the way they did it was a little insensitive but I know they did it to scare us on purpose to pay attention by showing us you can get time in jail for being the “ murderer” of your best friend
My high school had one of our teachers who was publicly arrested for dui try to preach to us about the importance of not driving drunk. He had 4 dui’s before he “retired”
My school does the same thing except it’s before Spring Break, especially since we live in Tallahassee and have FSU kids all around us and have been known to buy high schoolers alcohol and bring them to Panema to spring break with them 🤷♀️
