Goku going Super Saiyan was like a big bang in the anime world. It wasn't just a cool power-up; it changed the game entirely. Suddenly, every anime fan wanted that moment of intense transformation and power. It showed us that characters could grow and evolve in ways we hadn't seen before, making us all feel a bit more connected to their journeys. And let's be real, seeing Goku with his golden hair and glowing aura was like witnessing magic on screen. It's a moment that stuck with us, inspiring countless other shows and becoming a symbol of the anime community worldwide. It's not just a scene; it's a part of our collective anime-loving hearts.
Funny how the story given to why Akira toriyama decided to put super saiyan is because printing goku's black ink was very expensive. Basically the greatest transformation in anime came from a practical idea to reduce cost.
Agreed. It's literally the reason every anime has that "watch in a well-lit room and away from the screen" disclaimer at the beginning of every episode.
They're all I could think of at first, maybe add Pegasus Seiya, Yugi, Clare from Claymore, Nagisa from Assassination Classroom and Ryo Saeba to make it a little more complete.
@@SpikeTheWolfyou mean the guy with the creepy/annoying smile and closed eyes? He did die, I hated him for the most part, until I learned that his intentions where good and he was just trying to get close enough to Aizen to catch him off guard and kill him for what he did to his childhood friend.
Ace’s death shook me to the core. I wasn’t past it then, I’ll never get past it now or ever. The scene shattered my heart and my mind to pieces. 😭😭😭💔💔💔

Spirited Away mesmerized me when I first saw it. The animation was beautiful and the characters were interesting. Thank you Hayao Miyazaki for creating this wonderful movie.
Goku's first Super Saiyan power up was monumental. DBZ was already a massively popular franchise outside of Japan, but that moment catapulted Goku into superstardom and Dragon Ball became a global phenomenon.
First time goku went super saiyan I lost my shit my parents freaked out that I suddenly started screaming and flailing around in awe of what just happened. They didn't get how awesome it was

Ace dying is still the most impactful death in anime not just because of Ace being a great character but more important how hard Luffy worked for hundreds of chapters to save him and failed at the very end, it was one of the biggest failures of a protagonist ever.
Goku's first super sayan transformation was an actual historical event in Brazil as it was first aired in 2001... precisely on 9/11. The breaking news of the attacks broadcasted RIGHT WHEN GOKU WAS TRANSFORMING, spoiling the whole thing. Until this day there's a huge debate about this. Some people remember it didn't, some swear on their mothers it did.
Keep in mind, number 4 on this list managed to beat number 2 on here in terms of highest grossing Japanese film of all time. It is not a small feat for something to beat an absolute legend from the 2000s, so it goes to show that there’s something special about it if it was able to achieve that feat! Also, RIP Porygon and its whole episode ;w;
Neon Genesis Evangelion also has important moments. Cause it shows how psychological, depressing and even disturbing Anime could be the more you keep going and watching.

As for the Porygon Pokemon controversy, I also plan to erase it with a much better virtual replacement for said pokemon as my way of apologizing to the traumatized japanese children on behalf of the pokemon company and OLM.
You guys need to fact check better. Spirited away won the Oscar in 2002, and it was only the second time that vest animated feature was even a category, so while a good moment, it wasn't as ground breaking
Pikachu was the one that shocked the missiles and cause the explosion, now Porygon and it’s evolution line will never be featured again, unless they finally allow it, Kadabra is back in the TCG, it’s time to bring Porygon back!

I'd...put Pokemon a little towards the middle. I mean yeah that was a big moment to the viewer-anime experience, agreed.
Everyone (including you, WatchMojo) blames Porygon! But you even said it yourself, that it was Pikachu's attack that was accompanied by the flashing lights!

Goku going super saiyan had my jaw open both hands curled up in a fist as i witnessed something which was present all along in rock the dragon intro song. The sudden realization made go ohhhhhh.
