  • Make paper hugs and hearts 💕 to put on your neighbors’ doors to cheer them up by using colored paper, markers, tape, a hole puncher, yarn or string, and scissors. Love and kindness are contagious too! Below is the text to also tape to your neighbor's door so they can spread love in your neighborhood too!

You have been hugged from afar!
Love and kindness are contagious too! Help spread love in our neighborhood and community by making hearts and a hug for three of your neighbors. You have only 24 hours to pass it on. Let’s see how quickly love can multiply. Wouldn’t it be awesome to see all of our neighborhood doors covered with hearts and hugs in the next few weeks?
Here’s what you need to do. First, trace the hands of yourself or someone else living in your home onto paper and cut them out. Next, cut out 11 paper hearts. Fold one of the hearts in half and hole punch through the middle top of the heart. Take string or yarn (2-3 feet long) and thread it through the heart that you hole punched. On each end of the string tape the cut-out paper hands. Now you’ve made a hug. On the remaining ten hearts, write positive messages or compliments such as “together we are strong,” “thanks for staying in, to put COVID-19 out,” “there’s no place like home,” “thinking of you,” or “thanks for being a great neighbor.” Before you go out to deliver, make three copies of these directions. Gather your three bundles of hugs, hearts, directions, and tape. Tape one copy of directions, your hug, and the ten hearts onto three neighbors’ doors. Once everything is taped up, knock and quickly run away. Don’t get caught; this is a secret service. Thanks for helping us show love at a safe distance.
P.S.-Don’t forget to sanitize your hands before, during, and after this project.
