  • Ford S-Max 1.8 TDCi engine fault. Have a listen. The whole car shudders like a wobbly spin drier when accelerating in 4th gear from 35 mph to 45 mph at full throttle (1700 rpm to 2000rpm). This fault manifests after 10 miles (or more) of motorway driving at a constant 70mph.

@cadence33333 My RAC connect had the 1.8 endura diesel in it, it was fine as it was a TDDi. Slow but it was robust enough seeing as I deliberately ABUSED it. Like I said, the Endura itself was ok until Ford started chucking Delphi parts in an attempt to "refine" the unit but ended up making balls & cock of the whole thing instead.

I will agree with you, as I said, my 1.8 TDCI was perfectly okay (2006 Focus Estate Ghia) but a lot of them were fractured junk...

@cadence33333 I wouldn't even lead yourself to believe that 2.0 litre 140 or 2.2 TDCi 175's are a safe bet either. Have you seen my Video's? Have a look I have a 2.2 Mondeo on there with an engine malfunction. Ford owners would tell you a load of bullshit just to follow their crowd. Trust me, I practically live in Fords, take it from me, they are shiteeee.

@cadence33333 Its more like a 15 yearold engine! Its the old 1.8 endura diesel which was in Escort vans. This engine is a polished turd which is made WORSE by Delphi's parts. The engine itself was ok at 1 point, it was finally obliterated & ruined by Ford using Delphi products thats why its so appauling. They should really ban this engine but they don't thats Ford for you,

7 months ago you had that car accelerating on its own now its vibrating badly! I just recently heard that someone in London had crushed their new 1.4 TDCi Fiesta, left it on the grass patch outside Fords dealership with a square metal sheet welded on the cube with red pained letters saying don't buy Ford. Their teriible aftercare must have pissed someone off that much!
