    Wow, thank you for capturing every detail of the food offerings at this hotel. I’m a bit of a foodie as well, and the menu options, quality and final presentation of the meals all looked amazing!!! 😋 Was the TASTE of the food as amazing as it looked or were there “hit and miss” meals like many all-inclusive resorts?
    From Canada, this hotel is currently running $772CDN per night, so it’s on the pricey side for Mexico. As a solo traveller, I can see from the few video snippets you took of the crowd, that this hotel may be better suited to couples, would you agree? Things seemed quite mellow there. Perhaps it was the time of year (off-season). Looks like you had an amazing and relaxing time nonetheless. 😊 🙏

      Hello fellow foodie! Overall taste of food was amazing. They have lots of unique dishes. I was disappointed in the steakhouse but not sure if its because I came in with high expectations? It’s really nice to go with a group so you can order variety and taste a little bit of each of the food items. Otherwise you can ask them to make portion smaller and able to order more. I tried to hit as many restaurants and probably ate too much 😂. I have to say, the Asian restaurants here did not disappoint. It was pretty good compare all the other Mexico resorts I’ve been to so far.
      It does seem more like older crowd at this resort, ages ~30-50. It has a more mature vibe. More mellow but I think there were groups of also friends that were there but more couples. It is off season so it was more quieter than usual. I like to travel in Sept because of that. And cost is less. It was a beautiful resort! Good for a foodie!

    • @minnesotaphatfoodies
      @minnesotaphatfoodies  6 місяців тому

      You are welcome! I’m not sure? We had a group of 6 couples. One of the couple went 4 days before the rest of us arrived. This couple got the timeshare talk. They said it was almost 3 hours long! At the end they did not sign up for anything and got 1 hour massage for just one person! I assume Atelier knew we were with the group and more likely would not want to sign up? But luckily we didn’t have to deal with that.

    • @minnesotaphatfoodies
      @minnesotaphatfoodies  8 місяців тому +1

      Thank you! Breakfast was similar for all the places we tried. Our Lunch favorite was El Suspiro and La Consentida buffet in building 3. El Suspiro fried hogfish was good. See if they can seat you on the side closer to the inspira pool, it seems cooler over there. They have ribeye steak at La Consentida buffet where you can see them put the meat on fire and tell them when you want it off. Tasted better than the steakhouse to us. All the dinner were very good but my fav was Kopai. I think Ernesto the waiter made it good since he helped with ordering cause the menu was kinda overwhelming. Have a great trip when you go!

    First of all, thank you so much for your review. We are going with a group next year so I have a couple of questions:
    - Did you reserve the private room at El Cilento? How do you go about doing that?
    - How big was the private boat through Aqua World? I am currently looking at pricing with different companies.
    I thought the swim-out suites did not have Butlers? Is this new?

    • @minnesotaphatfoodies
      @minnesotaphatfoodies  8 місяців тому

      Hello! No we did not reserve the room at El Cilento. We did not even know it existed. We were expecting 2 tables of 6 and were surprise to get the private room. Maybe the Butler can help arrange? Or you can stop by and ask?
      The aqua world boat we had was the smallest one they had and best for 8people which we had. The had a bigger one with built in bathroom for $952 that fit 10 people. If you have cash, it’s best to pay that way. We ran credit card for $766 but when we got home credit card company charge us $80 more!
      Yes! I was surprise we had Butlers. Everyone is our group was inspira swim out and all got butlers? We thought maybe they weren’t busy enough so they assigned butlers to us?

    Hi! I booked an INSPIRA oceanview swim-out suite for my parents and would love to know your top recommendations for breakfast and dinner! Your trip looked amazing. Also any tips on what to do or check out would be greatly appreciated! They’re in the late 50’s and Asian 😆 Was reserving dinner spots a hassle?

    • @minnesotaphatfoodies

      Inspira oceanview swim out is a nice room! My sis-n-law got that room. Your parents are gonna love it.
      All the restaurants were pretty good. It’s kinda hard to choose but here are my favs.
      Best breakfast: main breakfast Mercado 19 buffet (bakery was very fresh and good) & El Suspiro was good.
      Best lunch was: Limon Y Sal (Salmon/Shrimp salad) & secret Buffet in building 3 La Consentida (just walk in, not on app, the steak was delicious) & El Suspiro (must get whole fish!). Must get dessert here!
      Best dinner: Marcado 19 tacos, Kopia Japanese ramen and rolls, El Suspiro lobster good (must do dessert here) & Là Consentida Buffet Building 3 (not on the app)
      Reservations were pretty easy. We had big group of 12 people which made it difficult if we all wanted to eat together. It seems if 6people or less, it’s pretty easy. You can reserve with machine or with butler.
      Hydrotherapy is included so make sure they do that!
      At 4pm each day they have activities where you can make things which was fun to do.
      And relaxing on the beach is nice.
      Make sure they get map, I got lost so many times! It’s weird since some levels are block and you can’t go through. I just ask for help with directions all the time 😂
      Hope they have an awesome time!

    Hi, Great video! Thanks for the details! We're considering this for my wife's 40th in December 2023. I see you just posted the video, did you go in September? I ask because I don't see a lot of people in the videos and seems like the resort was kind of "dead"?! We're looking for upscale but with a lively atmosphere and other people there. Not a party hotel like Hard Rock but something fun for a group of 40 year olds! LOL Please let me know if you think this is a good option for us!

    • @minnesotaphatfoodies
      @minnesotaphatfoodies  8 місяців тому

      Hello! Yes, we got there Sept 21st. It was not crowded at all, but I think there were still enough people to hang out with. The Bar de La Calle was pretty busy most night. And live music was nice. I think most people enjoyed that bar. They had silent party which had good amount of people there. I didn’t check out the night club but they have it 10:30-3am. During the day, they have 4pm activities where you make stuff and it’s filled with people there. You can order drinks, build things and chat with people there. I think it’s a great place for 40 years olds! Happy 40th to your wife!

    • @minnesotaphatfoodies
      @minnesotaphatfoodies  5 місяців тому

      Yes, we book at the resort. It’s located between building 2, our room 2167 and the beach. Walking from our room toward beach, look to the right side. So if you exit room 2167 turn left and walk until first or second hallway to right. There’s this area that has table and place you can grab towels. Theres a couple of guys from AquaWorld there and they have information about excursions and boat rental. If you can, pay cash. Our credit card ended up charging us $70 more on the card because of the conversion from peso. We could tell until we got home and saw charges. Hope you find it! I’m bad with directions and that’s all I can remember .

    OK so … I’ve never been to an all inclusive resort type place like this before so I gotta ask some dumb questions …
    Do you ever leave? I know you took that boat over to the island but was that itself being offered by the resort?
    Are all these restaurants charging you for meals individually? Or is that wrapped into the cost of the resort?
    Did you get into the city of Cancun proper? Did you eat at any of the places the locals go to?
    Did you ever just get the hell out of the resort area and go exploring? And I’m not talking about a bus tour or anything like that.
    I’ve been on two cruises. This is what this reminds me of. To be honest I didn’t like those cruises at all. Everything is fake. Contrived. It’s the same feeling I get when I spend time in an enclosed indoor shopping mall. Nothing is real. Everything is fake. My first thought is “when do I get to leave?”
    My GF would like that resort. Lots of people would. (And clearly DO.) I don’t think it fits in at all with my idea of travelling to a foreign country.
    Tiny open air food stalls at public squares in SE Asia sound like much more fun!

    • @minnesotaphatfoodies
      @minnesotaphatfoodies  8 місяців тому +1

      There’s no dumb question! For these all-inclusive, most of the restaurants and activities they have on the resort are already paid for in advance by you, so it’s included. You can eat/drink as much as you like. You don’t pay anything extra except optional tips. Some restaurants may charge for special items but they will usually list it on the menu. This resort did not have any addition items on their menu for a fee. They do have one special restaurant (Maria Delores) that is not included and only guest who stays minimum of 7 nights can eat there at no cost. Otherwise I heard that restaurant is pretty pricey, therefore we didn’t try it out.
      You do have the option of going outside of resort and exploring if you like. But of course you will have pay for anything you do outside. They do have lots of excursions/activities the resort can help plan for you for a cost. You can do it yourself but it can be a little scary if you are not familiar with location and language/safety. Our boat ride was something extra we paid for. The last few trips we did not explore outside our resort since they were short trips.
      Most people who go to all-inclusive don’t want to think. They want to arrive and eat, relax and go with the flow. They want to order anything on menu and not have to worry about cost. Feels nice to do that sometimes. It’s definitely very similar to a cruise ship. It’s not for everyone. My brother n law said he’s never coming back, it’s not for him. It’s his first and prob last.
      We like all inclusive when we go with big group. We had total of 12 people at this one. Everyone pays for their own way there and we meet up and enjoy. It is stressful to plan other trips with big groups. No need to plan exactly what to do, where to eat, how to drive or Uber there/ how to the split bill/etc. We just eat together/hang out together if we like or meet up here and there. It’s a lot more flexible and easy going. And also safe if you stay inside the resort.
      I think if you are resourceful and willing to put energy into planning things out then doing non-inclusive will be better value and way to go. Also not be afraid to explore. Learning the language will help greatly also. If you ever decide to try out all-inclusive it’s best to keep an eye out for deals.

    Any tips on getting non-alcoholic drinks? We aren’t drinkers, and I see you were served alcohol mistakenly when asked for no alcohol.

    • @minnesotaphatfoodies
      @minnesotaphatfoodies  4 місяці тому

      I would say it a couple times when ordering. “Non-alcoholic ok” “I’m allergic” Double check again with them when the drink arrive to confirm if non-alcoholic. Also, if you have someone who drink and can take a sip for you to make sure. Otherwise, take small sip. No big gulps 😂. I was lucky I didn’t break out otherwise trip would be ruin!

    • @minnesotaphatfoodies
      @minnesotaphatfoodies  4 місяці тому

      If you go Bar de Calle and tell them the flavors and sweetness you like, they’ll make something up for you. Remind them “no-alcohol” a couple times just in casw

    • @minnesotaphatfoodies

      Another thing about all inclusive is that it’s prob worth it more for those that do drink. Seems like resort has more quality alcohol compare to others per people who drink that I travel with. Good not to drink too much though.
