Every time I get a new manga volume, I have an urge to reorganize. I really like to showcase manga covers and time to time I change them up. That refreshes the look quite well :) I use Ikea kitchen shelf inserts for one of my shelf and they do the job well.
i wish i had motivation like that haha i let stuff pile until my brain gets fuzzy but i agree i love to see people display the covers! and oo thank you for the tip, i'll look into those

I've been getting back into manga this past year, and it's mostly miscellaneous piles. I foresee new bookshelves in the (hopefully) near future! This re-organization may have been chaotic, but the fun kind!
I was so excited to see Boys Run the Riot and I Think Our Son is Gay, and then BL Metamorphosis! I'm really enjoying all three of those series and can't wait for the next volumes (soonish)! I also spotted Skip and Loafer - how did you like that one? I saw it but wasn't sure about picking it up.
yay i'm glad you enjoyed my chaos haha and oh i adored skip and loafer, i'll talk more about it in my reading log for the month but it was so cute, lot's of comedy and characters not taking them too seriously which is what i love in romance manga
If you live near an Ikea, go buy a few sets of their Glis boxes to use as raisers! You get 3 good length boxes for $2.49 and they are the perfect height for a ton of bookshelves! Plus, they can be used to hold small items that you don't use very often. Seriously, they have revolutionized my book storage!

I’ve always wanted to film a video like this but every time I get the urge to reorganize my shelves it’s like 2:00 am and I don’t feel like filming lol. But I liked the way you filmed it, especially since you kept in the parts that you decided to change later. It’s pretty interesting to see someone else’s thought process as they organize.
i was literally having nightmares about how unorganized i was haha i did sacrifice my day off on this project but it was worth it imo, i feel less anxious in my room now which is always a positive and yay i’m glad you enjoyed! i figured i owed it to y’all to explain the methods to my madness a little bit this time

I love the idea of the risers. I have so many books, both Japanese and English language in origin that every shelf has two layers. Now some cannot use risers, but where my manga and light novels are, I can use them and I will look into that, because I would love to see the books in the back.
yes i love the look of the risers! makes having to double stack nicer imo
@@tsukkinotes Right now I have CD cases stacked on top of each other and long tissue boxes holding up the back row. They work as a temporary situation while I figure out exactly what I want to use for more permanent set of risers.

The adult in me is looking at each shelf like oooh 30 volumes ($300) Oh 50 volumes! ($500) lol. I've always regretted donating the majority of my collection, about 500 volumes to my high school. Eventually I found out that they didn't keep them which hurt my soul. Wasted all that part time job money because I wanted to bring joy to the younger years. I still have about 200 and plan to regrow the collection again when I finish buying my house.
nooo that is so terrible that they didn't even keep them omg actually my first ever manga i got was from the trash at my high school, my english teacher had dumped a bunch of series in there bc she didn't think it was "literature worthy of her class" ... all i will say is i did not get along with that teacher
i wish i could do this but i have no bookshelves all my manga is stacked on my floor

Do you usually try new series by buying physicals and trying them that way? I usually only buy if It's a series already in my favourites otherwise I only read online first xd.
thank you! and yes i usually just buy new series physically to try, i don't read digitally often, i usually just go off recommendations or if i like other works by the author etc, so not totally blind buying stuff but if i end up not liking something oh well

i’m so sorry i don’t know where the shelf is originally from because i got it at a thrift store, i think i’ve seen similar ones at ikea and target but not sure how comparable the dimensions are

hihi , so i need help with something. so i have mangas (11) and i live in a room with my sibling since our house isn’t that big and our spare room isn’t available at the moment for me to move in to. and the problem is. i have my mangas on a shelf away from the window so they don’t get yellowing. but after 2 months i’ve noticed that the sun does infact reach my shelf. and that they have sadly gotten a slight yellowing. i don’t know where to move them. so i was thinking of cutting out a piece of cardboard and covering the top of the mangas until i can find a good place to put them. do you think the cardboard would prevent them to yellow more? and do you have any suggestions? thank you 💕 ( also i love your collection it’s so pretty and organized )
i keep a “curtain” over my manga but it’s really just a big scarf so i would suggest something like that a towel, blanket, etc bc even if you put cardboard on the top, spines of manga can also fade from the sun, hope that helps! and ty for watching ❤️

I've only ever read a random volume of YU-GI-OH! before, so when you placed 'Arslan' on your shelves it looked interesting + the main characters name is almost the same as Aslan in 'The Chronicles of Narnia' , which I love 😅🙊👀

i’ve been collecting for over 8 years so this didn’t happen overnight, i would say just take your time, it isn’t a race, unless you can afford to do huge hauls every month just take it slow is my advice
