  • How to store extra fuel and gas on your bug out vehicle. I'm on a bug out 4x4 camp in the bush and being a gear junkie, I’m testing some new Front Runner bug out vehicle gear. With this video I share some of the latest Front Runner additions to our bug out vehicle. Preparing your bug out vehicle is an essential part of your disaster preparedness plan as you are most likely to evacuate in your bug out vehicle. That equates to great fun testing new gear during a bug out 4x4 build. In this episode I share how I store extra fuel and gas on my Front Runner roof rack. My build is made up predominantly of a Front Runner roof rack and accessories as I love the tough, modular system they have designed.

    The roof rack system you have would be a really good way for me to free up some space inside. Maybe you mentioned it and I missed it, was your roof rack a custom build that you had welded up? Thanks Clarise!

      Hi Bob! The roof rack as well as accessories are all made by Front Runner (Links below). They make vehicle specific roof racks so you can just search your vehicle make and model on their web. They have a huge range of accessories too. I asked R&D Offroad to put a bigger roof rack on for me so that I could fit more on to it. Also the ladder isn't made for my vehicle so they modified it.
      Front Runner's roofracks are easy to assemble yourself though and you could easily fit all the accessories as well. I'm sure they can ship to wherever you are, but let me know if you need help or if you would like product specific links.
      Here is a link to Front Runner's web as well as R&D offroad. R&D Offroad is based in Cape Town. C

    Everyone does things differently, I have a diesel 150 Prado, long range tank and a rear bar with twin spare wheel rack and ladder steps on one of the wheels. On my roof rack I have a 2.5m awning on a home made Freds arm pivot (mounts on left side but can be swung round to cover the rear if desired). Around the inside edge I have a DIY 4" PVC pressurised water tank tube. This makes everthing nicely balanced and low profile.
    For a "bug out/SHTF" cooking option I have a Soto Stormbreaker multi fuel stove (LPG, Butane, Alcohol, White spirits, Diesel, Petrol......only thing it doesnt burn is wood)
    I would strongly suggest a discrete ignition kill switch for anti theft.

      Hey there! I love how all the Prado lovers are bringing their ideas to the table here. Sounds like a nice setup you've got. Capable as anything I'd say. Your kill switch is an interesting idea as long as you yourself manage to get away unharmed. I'm going to look up your Soto stove, thanks for the recommendation! C

    This production is soooooo professional looking. This production level does not serm like an amateur channel..it seems very well funded, very well filmed, edited and " directed"..if you know what I mean.
    Which..in my opinion, is ODD ..very odd that it doesn't have many more subscribers. However.. I also know that those sorts of channels are either shadow banned or they sell out and allow their content to be controlled by the small hat controllers.

    Dear Clarice, thank you for sharing your experience and producing these great videos. Please be mindful you don't overload your roof rack. Generally the limit of most vehicle gutters is around 100kg. This is essential to comply to manufacture specs, road rules and above all your safety. We learned these the hard way after spending years in Australias outback. God bless

    • @LiveReady
      @LiveReady  Рік тому +1

      I believe the diesel engines are more reliable and cheaper to run, but I'd miss the torque. It's my daily driver and I like it to be responsive especially because I have a tendency to pick a direction and get into all sorts of unmapped places. I'll keep your advice in mind though. Are you familiar with the Prado 90's? C

    • @YsterbergZA
      @YsterbergZA Рік тому +1

      @Live Ready yes, the 90 is an excellent family Cruiser tho I do prefer a blue badge 😉. The reasoning behind my comment comes from observations by @CanadianPrepper ito of fuel availability in an SHTF.

      @@LiveReady The jeep is taking some time , hardest thing to find are the green seats, they only were available for one year and that's it. It was a special package that came with green seats, green carpet and green door panels. I ended up finding a complete set of the green seats so I have the hardest thing to find for the build. Plus I have the correct rims, got the winch put on and now I'm on the hunt for a set of the amber fog lights. They put those on top of the taillights.
      Then I have to get the light bar for the front with 5 fog lights on top. After I have everything I'll get it painted. But check out some pictures of it and you'll see what I'm talking about. It's just taking time to collect everything, most people just paint the outside and leave it at that but I'm going all out with it but hopefully before the summers over I'll have all the extra stuff and have it painted.

    I remember we both saw the C. Plague as the white horse and the current Russia and Ukraine War as the the red horse of revelation. Today we have had the black sea grain deal ceasing. I believe this to be the first stage to the riding of the black horse. What are your thoughts? The black horse is all about grain of course and the news is speaking of the impact of world hunger due to this. Lets see how this goes

So we have to monitor the extent of these next events and their reach to have more clarity about whether they qualify. We watch and wait in preparedness. C
