Thanks Rick Shick for showing how the Metallic armor was done. I was always wondered what you used for the transition highlight between the suits. I had thought you made a green suit, that was reflective. And you shot that as a element. Using the metallic ranger toys was a great way to save time and money.
16:10 A favorite moment of mine was how in episode 2 of Dino Fury, Zayto had to teach Ollie and Amelia how o properly do their morph. It always bothered me how almost every Ranger team knows instantly how to correctly morph, when it would take me rewind the footage to even come close doing them myself. So seeing Dino Fury actually showing the characters actually learning to do the morph was something I have always wanted to see. Russell Curry got a good laugh when I told him this.

Hunter was so professional and hard working on set, very glad the last day wire gags was one of her favourites. The perfectly synchronization on the flip was one of those rare moments where it fit perfectly
I think the "not putting principle actors in the helmets" kind of makes sense. Since most of the stunt actors would be waring some kind of balaclava to make the suit to neck to helmet transition as smooth as possible, you wouldn't want to throw your actor with full hair and make up into that full face fabric just for a few moments. I think both Power Rangers and especially Go-Onger on the Sentai side had the habit of just having the actor place the helmets down in front of their face and with the camera angle it looks like they are putting it on.
Super fun behind the scenes looks on both sides! Hunter is one if my favorite Red Rangers, she killed it!! And the little bop she does when she morphs is awesome.

Modern stuff has made some incredible images come to life, no doubt. And I did still bring a part of that in my continuing career. But anything handcrafted has a special place in my heart. I think that’s why techniques like 2D animation and stop motion still have an appeal for audiences, and an extra sense of accomplishment for the artist.
Just for fun, I decided to compare Kimberly and Kat's morphs frame by frame. I noticed in Kat's morph, right before the camera zooms in, you can see part of Kimberly's arms and hair appear for a couple frames just as the energy is enveloping her face. It's interesting to see stuff like that.

Don’t forget when the new Rangers use the metallic armor again for the first time the green ranger gets metallic armor as well and then it would be all seven rangers in metallic armor
I believe as the VFX guys we only shot 16mm for the Zord transforms and Titanus, then transferred to digi-beta. Any other elements for the show, smoke, sparks, puppets, etc, were shot directly on digi-beta. And I have hours of digi-beta footage.
@@rickshick I’m amazed you had the foresight to keep an archive! Is that just part of the job, you never throw anything away because you never know how you might use it in the future?
Love the show - I'm very interested in VFX. May I ask a question, though: Where did Zeo Red's ⭐ wireframe come from? I can't recall the blank one being centre frame in Ohranger.
Imagine that the cosmic fury rangers could take the mighty Morphin rangers place on being those rangers, but except for the first time ever, the red ranger would be a girl as Amelia she would be the red mighty Morphin ranger with the Tyrannosaurus power coin
Also this time pink ranger will get a shogun Zord as will not only it’ll be pink and its form will look just like the shogun falcon Zord but for the middle it’s shape will be a Diamond and it’s weapon will be a bow and arrow
Also, don’t forget only this time the green Ranger gets a thunderzord as well and it’s a Basilisk thunderzord also known as a basilisk lizard and she’ll say DragonZord basilisk thunderzord power and she’ll get a ninja zord and shogun Zord as well and the green ranger ninja animal is a shark she’ll say green shark ninja zord power up

If the new Rangers use the metallic armor again only this time the green ranger would get metallic armor for the first time as well. Then all seven rangers will have metallic armor.
Also, what could happen if the new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers faced against their most greatest danger they never faced against Lord Drakkon he’s half green and white Rangers he gets both weapons and half dragon shield and half white tiger helmet all the Rangers who try to defeat him have parish, so let’s see if they stand a chance against him
There is someone who can take Rita and Lord Zedd place of being in there castle and trying to taking over not just planet earth but the universe as his name is Lord Drakkon he likes sitting in a throne, so he’s gotta be the perfect person to take both of their places on trying to rule the world
We can absolutely look into making a tutorial on this, I didn't realize it's something many would be interested in. Thinking about doing it as a live series

I love that "Saban's Masked Rider" toy in the background. That is a deep cut that I adore.
I worked on that show as well!
@BehindThePowerVFX Now, that is some behind the scenes info I and many fans would love to see and hear about. Please.
@@WolfFistProductionsYou know it! Stick around, we’ll get there.
@@rickshick Awesome! I can't wait.
3:41 Oh! That makes sense.
6:44 Recomps over recomps! Cool.
10:53 Looks pretty spot on!
11:50 There's a on going rule where, if you damaged the helmet, you have to pay a 1000 dollar penalty to get it replaced. I don't know how many copies of the helmet there are, but I figured it takes a while to make one.
Very different than the 1st season of MMPR they wore their helmets often.
@@BehindThePowerVFX I think it's because molds were made just in case. If you take a look at VR troopers in the first season, each character had a second power up form, but the helmets are mold copys of the MMPR Red Ranger helmet.
I think in future seasons most costumes from Toei Studios, the company that owns Super Sentai are rentals.
Thank you for reliving my childhood again from a different perspective
Truly happy you are enjoying the show. I have so much more footage and scenes to break down for all of you!
Surprised you could share some new footage here, would've thought NDAs would get in the way from her sharing. Insightful video, hoping to see more.
We were lucky that she could share things with us.
Also, shhhhhhh…. 🤫😉
@@rickshick my lips shall be sealed 🤐
A true fan!
This was amazing. Hunter's so cool and she clearely loved what she did. And all this BTS stuff from the original show blows my mind. Are the lightning bolts in their teleportation effect hand drawn too?
Hand drawn baby!!! Back then all the lighting you saw was hand drawn! Glad you are enjoying the show!
@@BehindThePowerVFX That is amazing. Please do a video on the super putties "exploding" effect!
Yo nice Beetlebros shirt, Rick! Way to represent!
I have soo much Big Bad Beetleborgs behind the scenes
I love my Beetle Bros shirts.
Thanks for this. Wow, this was awesome to revisit.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@BehindThePowerVFX I did!!
I ALWAYS wondered how you guys did the power "discharges" for season 3.
it's incredible to think it was hand drawn
Back then there was no other way, but I much prefer it even now!
Your welcome and as the powers rangers always say once a Ranger, always a Ranger, and may the power protect you
Same to you!
It’s Morphin time
It's always morphin time!

This is the kind of content I live for!! I've waited so long for this amazing content 😍😍😍😍
We truly appreciate that and strive to continue to bring you content you enjoy!
I'm really excited, thank you so much!!! Please show us the teleportation next if you can!! I've always loved that!!!
@@SilverTigerPowerI’ll look for teleports in my archives!
Hunter Deno 🥰 I love You 😍
We love her for being on our premiere episode
@@BehindThePowerVFX great episode 🇮🇳 👍🏻
Ty ty
Very amazing video with VFX. 😀😉👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻⚡️⚡️⚡️
Thank you excited to bring you more!
@@BehindThePowerVFX Anytime. 🙂😉👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻⚡️⚡️⚡️
How'd have you been feeling about the content?
@@BehindThePowerVFX Yeah I did saw it, Your channel is very amazing. I gonna say is your show with VFX for Power Rangers are very amazing that I watch in the 90s. And nowadays I use exactly samething like I’m VFX to figure out like Adobe’s Photoshop, Filmora’s Wondershare and others cause I was doing Power Rangers Fan Morphs. It takes me to working on with progress when it’s ready further. 🙂😉
After all the six of them don’t lose each other, and they sometimes be together
Thanks for the comment!
Don’t forget when the new Rangers use the metallic armor again for the first time the green ranger gets metallic armor as well and then it would be all seven rangers in metallic armor
I didn't know
Rick please show how you made the turbo season one morph and please bring Blake Foster for an interview!!!
We are in conversation with him now
This is so much fun to watch as a 90’s kid. Keep this up.
Truly appreciate the comment, happy yoi are enjoying the show can't wait to bring you more
Hunter is the best
She is super awesome.
This is amazing stuff. Do you still have any of the original 16mm or 35mm film elements?
I believe as the VFX guys we only shot 16mm for the Zord transforms and Titanus, then transferred to digi-beta. Any other elements for the show, smoke, sparks, puppets, etc, were shot directly on digi-beta. And I have hours of digi-beta footage.
Glad you enjoyed the episode
@@rickshick I’m amazed you had the foresight to keep an archive! Is that just part of the job, you never throw anything away because you never know how you might use it in the future?
@@RangerRetrocenterYa never know.
Figured it might be cool eventually!
Love the show - I'm very interested in VFX.
May I ask a question, though: Where did Zeo Red's ⭐ wireframe come from? I can't recall the blank one being centre frame in Ohranger.
It was taken from the Japanese footage.
Imagine that the cosmic fury rangers could take the mighty Morphin rangers place on being those rangers, but except for the first time ever, the red ranger would be a girl as Amelia she would be the red mighty Morphin ranger with the Tyrannosaurus power coin
Hmm
Also this time pink ranger will get a shogun Zord as will not only it’ll be pink and its form will look just like the shogun falcon Zord but for the middle it’s shape will be a Diamond and it’s weapon will be a bow and arrow
Your
awesome video!!!!!!
Thank you! 1st of many
@@BehindThePowerVFX welcome, I honestly wish I could perfect the season 3 morph. But I can't do it.
Whats your hang up?
@@BehindThePowerVFX hang up? what's that?
there needs to be a power rangers museum
Also, don’t forget only this time the green Ranger gets a thunderzord as well and it’s a Basilisk thunderzord also known as a basilisk lizard and she’ll say DragonZord basilisk thunderzord power and she’ll get a ninja zord and shogun Zord as well and the green ranger ninja animal is a shark she’ll say green shark ninja zord power up
For
You should Get Alexandra Young on the show
We are actually hanging out with her here at Ranger Stop and pop this weekend
Also don’t forget even know they become the new mighty morphine power rangers it will keep saying once & always but with new episodes
Thank you
If the new Rangers use the metallic armor again only this time the green ranger would get metallic armor for the first time as well. Then all seven rangers will have metallic armor
We appreciate your continued dedication to commenting

Hmm
Interesting how this works.
Hope you enjoyed it excited to share more
maybe i was mistaken but that kimberly morph to pink ranger power wasnt that in season 3 after they got the powers from ninjor?
Kimberly was season 3 you're correct
@@BehindThePowerVFX awesomeness thanks for the reassurance
@@nickko2500I’m old so I get some things wrong. Always happy to be corrected!
I’ve always preferred the shorter morphs. Not necessarily from a visual standpoint, but in a battle more practical
Same after introducing the longer morphs, like in Once & Always that morph they did in the junkyard was so fire
The 90s talknwas rrally interesting because of how ive never seen that footage
Excited to bring you behind the scenes of some saban shows from the 90's
She is really awesome and really cool and amazingly beautiful!
Also, what could happen if the new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers faced against their most greatest danger they never faced against Lord Drakkon he’s half green and white Rangers he gets both weapons and half dragon shield and half white tiger helmet all the Rangers who try to defeat him have parish, so let’s see if they stand a chance against him
Comments!
There is someone who can take Rita and Lord Zedd place of being in there castle and trying to taking over not just planet earth but the universe as his name is Lord Drakkon he likes sitting in a throne, so he’s gotta be the perfect person to take both of their places on trying to rule the world
And continued interest
Kimberly left in season 3, not 2.
Good catch
Kat took over in season 3 not season 2
Yup yup
THis is so great!!!
thanks Dennis!! your videos are INSANE!!
@@BehindThePowerVFX THanks so much!! :D
Of course!!
Cool cool coolio
Thank you!
@@BehindThePowerVFX Your welcome 🙏🏾
What did you think of the other episodes
@@BehindThePowerVFX I love all of them
How old is Amelia?
In the show or real life?
86.
Hey Rick, is it possible to have a "tutorial" on how you made the zord puppets? I always wanted to recreate it to have it move/motorized on display
We can absolutely look into making a tutorial on this, I didn't realize it's something many would be interested in. Thinking about doing it as a live series
And also what about Ollie would blue and Izzy green and Javi Black and Aiyon Yellow and Fern pink and solon will be with Alpha 9 in the command center
Also, imagine if Zayto was still with you guys but he would get the white Tiger power coin as the White Ranger and then there will be seven of you rangers
Interesting
