I was lucky enough to see one in the wild today. That's what brought me to this video. Once in a lifetime event. I was about 25 miles south of Lakeland. It took off running.
I was just texted this morning that a young male panther was ran over prowling around to make his own territory.Their numbers are plummeting low to our greed for land.
I live in a semi rural area in Alachua county. Two nights ago I was out behind my horse barn getting fire wood for my wood stove at about 10 PM. As I was walking back to my house I heard a sound that instantly terrified me and I do not frighten easily. The call was repeated 3 times in the time it took me to get into the house. It could only have been a panther. I have lived here since 1983 and once we sighted a panther crossing the road 3 miles from our house back in 1993 and other sightings have been reported in the area of Millhopper Rd and CR232 but not recently. I have deer passing through my farm and sometimes lying up in my now wooded acreage. The call was quite close to me which was what frightened me. It is very dark here unless there is a full moon. The following night my Black Lab alerted at about the same time. I did not go out to investigate 😁
Just looked up FL panthers to see if what I saw was 2-panthers. I’m in east Naples and they literally just walked across the street from me. I jumped up and went in the house lol😂

I can tell you for a fact Florida Panthers are in more than just "south" Florida. I witnessed a rabbit cage torn to pieces at a house on the edge of the Pinellas County Preserve. As I was smoking a cig waiting for my boss to quote a job. I looked at the damage and the remaining rabbits in another cage. They were completely scared, when I looked in the direction they were looking. I seen a 80-100lb Florida Panther looking through the screen at the rabbits and myself. First and only time I've ever seen one. Scared the sh*t out of me. I've lived in Florida for 25 years. This was 2008-09? I've never entered the woods without a gun since. It changed my entire outlook on how I view our woods and rivers.
They're supposed to be extinct in brevard but I've seen several over the last 45 years. Also heard them and seen tracks. People don't report sightings because they don't want government interference.
Baker county Florida on Richardson road in Sanderson. I saw a cub with spots jump across the road and in an instant it was gone all my friends started and we could not believe it if you want to find that spot on Google maps it's Richardson road Sanderson Florida
at 0:060:134:46. 5:12 They keep showing this cat which is not a Florida panther. a female African Lion. ??? Very silly and calls the whole video in to question.
Just thought you’d like to know we just watched your video we live in Lawrenceburg Tennessee and Tennessee now has by the TWRA Confirmed cougar population in tn cougars for several years now
These cats are ferocious when they care to be and having kittens all over Florida. Be careful and carry a small arm when you go into their areas. They normally will run from a shot over their head. But not always. They are close cousins to the Puma or Mountain lion.
So Florida Panthers are just cougars? Or mountain lion? I thought Panthers were black or have print spotted coats. Hmm maybe those are leopards/jaguars
you mightn want to check your facts on these cats I've seen them from west fl to yehaw junction worked cattle ranch in micanopy had a den behind my house and spotted black cat twice and watched it for at least 10min. notified fwc but they didnt belive me dummies
If you're talking about the fact cougars from a Texas population were brought in to increase genetic diversity, that kind of cross-breeding and gene flow historically would have occured naturally between the two subspecies when they still covered their full natural territory range, anyway.
I live in north Florida and my husband has seen panthers here all his life and they’ve been caught on deer cams within the last few years and we’ve been seeing prints the last few months around here.
I’m in north Florida too, close to Alabama and Georgia, and there’s lots of panthers here. There are 10’s of 1000’s of acres of undeveloped land with plenty of water and wildlife for them to thrive. I don’t think you could get rid of them if you tried.
no😂 florida people don’t just go around killing people wtf and there’s literally a small to no chance youll ever see a panther i lived in florida my whole life and never seen one
They have been seen and heard in South Georgia near Florida for years. Once you hear one screaming at night you won't forget it!

We have a few around here I'm in South Carolina I seen 3 cubs in my backyard a couple weeks ago
That must be pretty cool to see them in your backyard!
Yes till my dogs ran them 2 went up a tree, and the other was chased away in to the night.
can’t be There’s NO cougars in the entire eastern US expect for Florida and there’s only about 300 of them
@@arislopes1924 Yet there's been sightings and fur found in Tennessee so I'm calling bullshit.

why do you show a lioness at intervals ?
I got mauled to death by one in RDR2.
Awesome Man i was about to comment but its so hard to find this Panther
I have one at my house

Just thought you’d like to know we just watched your video we live in Lawrenceburg Tennessee and Tennessee now has by the TWRA Confirmed cougar population in tn cougars for several years now

This puma subspecies need to be protected.
In Florida they need to be called Florida Panther, not panthers alone since panther is not a cat species.
why do you keep showing that picture of a female lion when switching topics?? lol
So Florida Panthers are just cougars? Or mountain lion? I thought Panthers were black or have print spotted coats. Hmm maybe those are leopards/jaguars
Kitten at 4:12 , 5:33, 5:44 has a genetic hip defect and can barely walk. Poor thing.
Same animal as the mountain lion which are known to be dangerous and have killed people Yet there is no record of a human death by panther in Florida
you mightn want to check your facts on these cats I've seen them from west fl to yehaw junction worked cattle ranch in micanopy had a den behind my house and spotted black cat twice and watched it for at least 10min. notified fwc but they didnt belive me dummies
It's a non native chimeraic hell beast. Only about 20% of its genetics are original.
If you're talking about the fact cougars from a Texas population were brought in to increase genetic diversity, that kind of cross-breeding and gene flow historically would have occured naturally between the two subspecies when they still covered their full natural territory range, anyway.

Not sure why but not so the facts where true
This is a mountain lion
It's a subspecies of mountain lion yes.
That's not a panther at all tho lol. It's a cougar. More like a house cat than a lion or tiger
They make beutiful wall trophies! Almost as good as grizzlies.
So if you go to Florida, the gunshine state, no only can you be shot under their stand your ground law you can be malled or killed by a mountain lion.
