This was very enlightening and informative for me as a product manager, trying to learn technical writing to enhance my skills and knowledge around the software development lifecycle. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts
Thank you so much gift. But my question is do I need to know about tech or front-end development to become a technical writer? Because I'm just a normal writer but I want to focus more on technical writing. How do I go about it since I have no knowledge of tech
Thank you for this. I have a few questions to ask. I just completed a course on technical writing, I am aware you have to write and work on something to be able to build yourself which helps you build a portfolio. So the first question is, how can I start building my portfolio? How do you get things you write about? Is there like a platform where one can get stuff to research and write about? I'd appreciate your thoughts on this. Thank you.
1. You can start building your portfolio by writing about topics you're interested in, new things you learn or problem you come across and found solutions to. You don't have to follow a certain standard especially if it's your first time, if you like working with JavaScript for example then write an article on concepts you've learned in JavaScript, the same way you learned it teach it to other using the article as a medium. Hope this helps.
