I never played Jin in TTT so i never saw this ending. I love the fact he recognized he was essentially repeating what Kazuya was doing to his dad. He was almost becoming like him. Sparing him showed that he didnt want to go down that path. The Kazama roots still stay strong, even at a young and vulnerable age.
From Kazuyas perspective Tekken 1-Retribution(No explanation needed) Tekken 2-The Fall(metaphorical before he meets Jun and very literal when he meets Heihachi) Tekken 7-Conclusion(to his war with Heihachi) Also i would say Tekken 3 is 100% LOSS and not fear. Jin loses his mother, his home,he loses his trust to Heihachi and a father figure, he loses his life,he loses his self as he transforms to Devil first time and he is consumed by wanting to kill the Mishimas and then himself.
Jin is a part of Main Story in Tekken 7 (he even spent almost the whole story being unconscious), and Character Episodes in that game are only for those who has little or even nothing to do with the Main Story.
Tekken 4 and Tekken Tag 2 were my favorite because of how emotional Jin gets about his mom. Ironically Tekken 8's is my least favorite, but the main story ending was awesome.

The fact that the Mishima Zaibatsu has a fucking throne room is both scary and funny as hell
Every good despot needs a throne
Heihachi definitely installed that room in lol

kinda crazy that ever since tekken 3 up to tekken 5, the jin ending has been the canon ending
Well, he is the protagonist since Tekken 3 so it makes sense.
Then again Kazuya was the protagonist in Tekken 2 yet he canonically lost there.
