Rumor has it that Snarl is next which is probably a good thing because I wasn’t sure if they would make him or not due to his 3 seconds of screen time in the movie.
15:33 The shot of our three Dinobots together is very reminiscent of their very debut, being the original three before they are joined by Snarl and Swoop in the 1984 cartoon.
I keep saying Hasbro is trying to put upgrade kit maker's kids through college making all these figures that always need some kinda fixes with 3d printed parts after the fact.
God I hope we get Snarl....I know he was basically a brief art error in the movie, but he is my all time fave Dinobot and I need a figure of this quality of him.
I love that these three are out and they look great together. The leader class price is more palatable when you’re talking about the Dinobots! They should be huge ! And although I still prefer the shiny metallic-looking gold and silver pieces of the originals, this gold coloring does seem more cartoon accurate of the original series and movie. Nicely done. I need to save my pennies!! 🤓
The choice of rubber seems really weird to me for a part like that... I'll have to see how it is when I eventually get my own. And maybe instead of trying to force everyone to be shorter, Optimus should learn... to RISE.
I would never get any Transformers transformed if not for you. Thank you. I am a terrible Transformers fan. I HATE transforming them. I LOVE it when they are packaged in the mode I plan to display them in, and don't have to fool with it! But you are my savior when I have to suffer.
13:02 no they care of compagny that make upgrade kit and we can assume that, DNA design or other can make a kit with a foldable replacement toe that can full fill the halow belly
Was looking forward to this review, and was not disappointed. Figure looks great aside from toe issue in dino mode, but hey still planning to get it. Thank you for the heads up about the rubber bits.
I think it's safe to say that theses Dinobots are the best non-combining Autobot sub-group there is. The Wreckers being 2nd. Can't wait till this Dino starts popping up in US retail (I mean who wants to wait for an Aug pre-order) and get more info on the last two.
Ah the G1 Dinobots! Good memories. I was just thinking what the team members would look like if they were built to scale with their extinct counterparts: Sludge would be huge! 🦕
Ran this video on the way home from Walmart today with my SS86 Sludge. Looks like a running change, replacing the rubber parts with plastic. Those “body wings” are no longer floppy. Still no pin in the joint. The leg on my copy is better as well. Thought you’d be interested in the update. Thanks for all you do!
I found one today at nearby target, and the knee joint that's kind of loose on your copy is OMEGA loose - like he can barely stand loose. And the wings in robot mode are noticeably looser than your copy too. Still like the figure, but posing wise robot mode is truly non-functional out of the box.
Man, Sludge has been pretty much impossible to come by in stores. I go to a Walmart almost every day and he hasn't showed, and Targets are pretty few and far between here in Chicagoland. I might have to try my luck ordering him online, but I probably won't hold my breath on that.
I was having so much trouble with the tail, I had push down the black leg joints from the inside mid transformation to make it where it would tab together
Dude! I absolutely appreciate you so much for these videos! Just got mine today. Got 2. One for Dino mode and the other for robot mode. Thank you again for these videos on transforming!
I realize this review was months ago, but I just picked one up from Target and Hasbro apparently swapped the rubber pieces for plastic ones in later releases. Also, the knee joints on my copy are great.
Just got this today and love it. The leg transformations caught me a bit but its a pretty straightforward process. You said the knee joints were awful on your copy, my hips are somewhat weaker and had no issues with the wing joints, hardly noticed the rubber parts.
I've seen multiple reviews of this figure in Chinese and English, and they all complain of the same loosey-goosey in the knees/legs. Looks like a widespread problem.
The dinobot formally known as... And for no reason at all other than for love of the product I finally got a masterpiece Wheeljack today after many years of wanting 1 and it's awesome I love having around to mess with it's one of those figures I constantly want to play with
Prime's lucky Sludge isn't smart enough to understand or care what he was doing. With any other Dinobot, except Swoop, Prime would have died again. I like how we're getting the Dinobots in the order they first appeared, which means Snarl should be next but they may need to use a different scene for him?
@@Kuroketsu Yeah hopefully. It would be ashame to ruin the overall look of these figures. That decision will be a costly one as it will make people doubt Hasbro's ability to deliver on any future lines.
Good review. I guess the designers used "the budget cut" to provide room for the weapon storage. Not a total loss. But yeah, that underside gap is large!
I just tried Transforming this guy for the first time yesterday and all the rachets were good, my problem was I couldn't get the legs/feet to peg under him properly, it looked fine but was not pegged and even though no one would know but me, my slight to maybe not so mild tisim would not allow me to leave him in that unforgivable state and so I had to transform him back right away. I also didn't like how easily his Dino Mode head unpegs from the body, just tilting the neck on the rachet would unpeg it for me which was kinda frustrating as well but I love the figure besides for that, he has a great presence on my shelf.
I wish Swoop was leader sized to get more budget into his torso & wingspan. Am afraid voyager may be too small to fully fill out his bot frame to be in scale with the team in bot mode. Plus if they had some leftover budget they couldve put it into their swords.
How's the plastic looking below the neck/collar? Is it changing to a brownish marbled color? Reports are showing that the plastic is starting to change below the neck/collar. 86 slag is prone to H.S.P.S. (Hasbro Shitty Plastic Syndrome)
You will never see this comment but do you ever compare size between 3rd party and main line? It would be nice to know, like planet x neptune vs this guy
Those that already have Sludge, when did you get it and did you get the rubber joints in his Robot Mode wings instead of plastic? I wonder if there were too many breakage complaints with the hard plastic joints that Hasbro switched production to rubber joints?
@@theExilesMan ????? You must be imagining it, there's literally no panels there to close over that gap, the two hinges on the sides are for the wings that wraps over the back of the alt mode and smaller other two swings the alt mode front legs in and out of the hole where they rest in robot mode, there are no other panels there
What? The. F&*$? So the most pointy part of the figure, a part that often lacks flexibility, the tail, is made of rigid plastic. But the two large hinge joints that the wings connect to are soft rubber??!!! Pure madness. Between them and the robot mode toes not folding up in to the dino-mode torso, there's some serious improvements that DNA Design can make to this figure. Hopefully they're paying attention.
It would be cool if emgo316 remade the Jurassic Park movie but using the Transformers or GI Joes as the main characters and the dinobots as the dinosaurs.
I can't wait to see Swoop in this scale, Hasbro better not skimp on the wing span
@Ki Key They haven't with these dinobots and most CHUG figures
They will
I don’t think there’s a studio series swoop yet

Even if they're just re-releases of the CW (Or better yet, the UW) toys, I hope we get the Constructicons for SS86.
If someone makes 3rd party foot replacement with folding toes, I will order one. It's not a deal breaker without but would be a great option.

That explanation for the hollowness under the Dino mode makes a lot of sense.

I'm guessing they had problems with tabbing it in and needed the flexibility. Tf haven't used rubber very often... Monstructor I guess
My copy is the regular hard plastic not the rubber. Wonder when they changed it over?
I hope they do studio series 86 snarl and swoop.
There was a short Q&A with one of the designers of SS-86 Hotrod, and he mentioned that they were planning on getting to all of the Dinobots.
They are. Swoop has a listing, Snarl has been confirmed by a dude at Hasbro.
I heard they will release both Snarl and Swoop to complete the set, but there are rumours they won't be Leader-class. Who knows?

it is a pain, but I have the same knee issue, I hope they fix it on later copies, although mine doesn't have the wing problem.
I bet it's rubber cuz that's where the wings always break. I know the G1 have that problem quite well with Sludge and Slag.
I’m just worried about the rubber eventually deteriorating like with the original G1 figures. Their rubber wheels rotted and fell apart.
@@39Hundred mine didn't do that, but I'll be Damned if I didn't lose ONE on each figure. Even when I replaced from another bot.
