Their initial characters were cliche but not their storylines. Quinn started out as the hot cheerleader dating the quaterback, but her storyline changed in a couple episodes. Santana started out as the mean cheerleader but soon we fell in love with her strong and amazing personality. They all surprised us in their own way..Brittany dating Artie, Finn becoming leader of the Glee club...And Rachel was also cliche at first, the unpopular nerd in love with the quarterback?

Day by day, you start noticing every tiny flaw on yourself and on the beginning you let it go because you don't mind, but then you'll find yourself looking at other people and comparing yourself to them, and then eating disorders start and all that stuff. I'm glad I'm not on the last phase yet and I hope I'll never be, but don't you tell me I can't speak from experience. I hope I couldn't.

I actually disagree with that. I think all Glee original songs have really cheesy lyrics. That, combined with the Pop like-beat and Rachel's girly voice (Love Lea, but it didn't fit her voice IMO) , made the Season 2 songs way TOO cheesy. Season 4 songs at least had real instruments. Also, You Have More Friends Than You Know is actually not a Glee original and if you're gonna mention good Glee originals, you left out My Headband and My Cup. XD
Hi. Okay so I know some people hate the Jarley thing and they hate Marley. I have to admit, I'm not really a Marley or Jarley fan either. And I know lots of people think she's just a repeat of Rachel and Jarley is just a repeat of Finchel. Yes, I really love the Finchel storyline because its pretty realistic. But that never really happens as often as twice in the same group of people. I love Finn and Rachel together. I honestly love thins song and I think it has nothing to do with the characters

The boy slowly falls for her and they end together. No-one needs Finchel 2.0. If you are going to dislike a character for being a cliche, then I hope you passionately hate every character from season 1 not name Rachel. Marley is nowhere near as much of a cliche as Finn, Kurt, Quinn, Puck, Artie, Tina, etc. Season 2 onwards was when they became conscious of this and started making non-cliches like Blaine, Sam, Lauren, etc.
Agreed... I would have preferred for them to introduce a character with a lot more personality than her, like Harmony, or any other... I mean, we became fans of the show 'cause the characters had great personalities of their own... Just look at Santana! She was the random cheerleader on the pilot, and became one of the best characters of the show (vocally, acting wise, etc.)

Melissa sounds amazing, but Darren is so annoying. Glee has been the Darren show since last season, and his voice is mediocre, at best. I wish RIB would spread songs around the cast evenly.
