(I'm Kris too when abreviated from Kristiaan)..K rules..II am obsessed by Korg.. got 5 volcas, 1983 DDD5, 1981 KP-100, many KAOSSILATORS & KAOSS PADS, KP-1, KP-2, KP3, KP5, PANDORA 1, PXR4, POLY 600/800.. etc.but the craziest Korg unit by far is the Notorious PME40X modular FX Stomp Box from 1983 which s basically the MS20 shoehorned into an FX unit which most people don't know. .Krazy. machine!!
Man, really want that new Korg Keytar, but there seem to be some issues with it. The lack of midi capabilities, not many great lead sounds, sound editor is supposedly lacking, and smaller keys are not ideal. The Roland AX Edge appears to be a superior keytar, just not big on it’s size and weight. Plus the Korg is wood and looks cooler imo. Think they improved the wood and sounds on the new one, but still uncertain of the way to go, which one to pick… thanks for the video!
Thank you very much for the input. I’m flirting with the idea of buying the new Korg RK100S 2 for my birthday but it’s just another sound engine and no new improvements to the actual product. You rock em! Stay healthy and safe out there bro. Synth is life🎹 🎸🤟
At the end of the day, purely on technical capabilities, nothing to date is capable of defeating the Roland AX-Edge. But the tradeoff is that its an absolute behemoth and not just because it has 49-keys versus the RK-100/RK-100S's 37-keys. All that stuff it can do? Well the buttons and knobs and slides and whatnot that make all that stuff do has to go somewhere on the keytar. And because of that the AX isn't really ideal to play in anything other than short bursts when performing live. A Korg RK-100S (at just 7lbs) is more a keytar that one could feasibility play for a whole concert if need be. I don't think most people could handle an AX-Edge for a whole entire setlist.
O want the s sooooo bad!!!! I need them to release the sp now too!!! but thanks, very interesting. I actually prefer mini keys. but bummer about the lead sounds being lacking. guess you can make your own right?
