Sheriff of Nottingham is probably the game I have the best memory from playing games, with my kids a few years.I recorded a turn on my phone and I laugh so much every time I see it, that's why I'll probably never get rid of, for the chance of more days like that
I'd like to see two separate ones, ones leaving whether reviewed and not staying and truly leaving collection, as well as new games added for review and for the collection
Loved your videos! I found you recently and I really enjoy watching them. The only thing that I am missing is for example a video shoot of the game that you are talking about. I have never played Vienna and I would like to see how it looks like while you give your emotions about it in the background. Keep up with good work!
I just sold Sheriff of Nottingham too for similar reason, bluffing is fun but when it drags for one hour I'm just tired of it, what other games you play instead of Sheriff?
@@CarlosRodriguez-ez3ls I absolutely have no intention of doing that sorry. Especially not in a video like this. Please feel free to assume that most of the games I cover are review copies just to be safe.
Games added to the collection would be a good video, so long is that is just games moving into the semi-permanent collection status (not interested in games that are just acquired for reviewing purposes due to the volume). I think a single video is fine for games leaving. Might be fun for the order to somehow reflect how long you've had them for. Start with those that you've had for six months and then move onto those that have been around longer. Realize that may be somewhat difficult to be strictly in order, but a rough guess would be fine I think.
I've only played Cascadero once, but I also picked up Through the Desert, and they're surprisingly similar. Cascadero seems like TTD with tracks instead of direct points. I like it (need to play w/4), but I might just like TTD better.
@@zivpesso6293 it gives roughly the same experience, just faster and more simply. I usually prefer more complexity in games, but often you'll have to stop and rethink a turn because it doesn't give the right amount of track advancement (skips a seal, or lands in a dead zone). Similarly there can be some fumbles as you forget to claim VP, an achievement, or a bonus from a track. TTD just flows smoothly by contrast. You can play quickly, collect 1-2 physical bonuses, and you'll score it all later. TTD has more spatial tension too, since you're restricted to adjacent placements. You're rushing to enclose territory, cut others off from bonuses, etc. When you can place anywhere, getting cut off doesn't matter much. You can just pick up on the other side with a seal or 1 dead turn, and you'll actually get track bonus for being second to a village. Note that I've only played Cascadero at 2. It might get a lot more interesting with 4. But TTD was just as tense with 2 as with 4-5.
Another idea could be to do a monthly compilation of the games that came in, 30-60 seconds on the game with a score and if it’s entering or leaving with links in the video to the reviews so folks can check out more information if they are interested. Then the 2nd video on games leaving, what I “personally” like hearing in those videos are the games you are picking consistently over the game leaving (e.g in this video you explained innovation over ancient knowledge, but you didn’t say what you were picking over sheriff of Nottingham) if you have some of the data it would also be interesting to know how many times you played the game, how long you have owned it, if you think your rating has changed over time and what might be quite interesting is your opinion of if this game arrived today (meaning you have never played it before) do you think it enters the collection. (This helps the viewer determine if it’s one they should seek out or one that’s just replaced with a much better game). Thanks for all the great videos you do :)
I love Sheriff, i dont think the game arc is super samey with the expansion and promos. I have no inclination to play it right now either, but its a classic that I'll want to play in the future, particularly with certain people, including my partner and my future kids.
Alex, if I liked my First play of Cascadero and you mention there are other tile laying games you would prefer, which ones are those? I would like to give those a try
You can see my answer on another commentor asking the same thing...althogh I'll admit I'm curious why I'm getting this question twice today when I very rarely get it in general...is it pure coincedence or something else?
@BoardGameCo you do really well announcing your CMO position in your backing videos. I guess from a video title standpoint, the word Collection would generally mean you own it (hence in your collection) but good to know a lot of these are review copies too.
I‘d like to have two videos. Games added and Games leaving
That seems to be the general concensus so far :)

There's actually no tile laying in Cascadero. It's meeple laying. I found it refreshing and different. It's all about the tracks. Great game.
Lol technically fair...but it ends up being the same concept
Read Casca... In the title, got scared it would be Cascadia 😂
Lol not a chance
I like keeping the current setup- two videos (one adding, one leaving).
2 separate videos is the best in my mind.
That seems to be the overwhelming feedback, thank you!

I believe I would prefer that they all be in one video, although I understand that the algorithm would prefer they be separate.

I still love the game, I've just played it out. And I love Cockroach Poker these days.
Games not leaving my collection because they will never be there.
1. Chai: Tea for 2
That will be all.
So you actually have your game of Chai: Tea for 2 ??
@@JJ_TheGreat - Read my comment again. 😉
I think 2 videos is a good balance, 1 for added and 1 for leaving.
I would also like a brief count rollup YTD
The key question: Did you pay for the game being added/leaving or was it a review copy.
It's very much case by case, older games almost always I paid for, newer games are likely around 75% review copies.
@@BoardGameCo Either way Alex, you should disclose this fact for each game being discussed.
@@CarlosRodriguez-ez3ls I absolutely have no intention of doing that sorry. Especially not in a video like this. Please feel free to assume that most of the games I cover are review copies just to be safe.
@@CarlosRodriguez-ez3ls I see no reason to disclose this, who cares. As long it's not a prototype.

I think it would be useful for you to add stats (if available) on how many times you played each game leaving your collection.
Ooh interesting...I'm open to that but we'll see, I like the idea but unsure if it fits naturally in the flow of talking.
Or as an alternative you could say how long it has been in your collection for (ie since 20XX), which might be more useful info too.

Not sure if you mentioned this before, but if you had to pick one tile laying game in your collection which would you keep?
I love Sheriff, i dont think the game arc is super samey with the expansion and promos.

Not sure why I thought of this, was wondering if you've tried the Shadow of Brimstone series, specifically, Forbidden Fortress.
Sadly not, always wanted to though
I like them better separately. Nice add to be games that are not added and then the games leaving.
Alex, if I liked my

Try Tigris :)
How about if same level of its complexity? What would be that game/s to keep vs cascadero?
Are all these games that you bought yourself or review copies?

I’d happily buy Cascadero off of you if you are able to ship at my expense!
A local friend might be taking it, if they don't you're next. Shoot me an email so I have you just in case.
@@BoardGameCo will do! Thanks!
Are you sure you really like games?
I certainly hope so given how many I play.
Sheriff for me is one of the worst game I have ever played, Timebomb is the only one worst than that, but we are not alike which is okay
Hmmm Dabba Walla is just launching on KS today. Crazy
Ya...I didn't realize it was going to be a kickstarter game
