Classic Commercials Block, Halloween 1980s edition!

- The crown jewel of my precious VHS collection, my parents taped three elusive Disney specials when I was barely out of diapers: Disney's Halloween Hall of Fame (hosted by Jonathan Winters), Disney's Halloween Treat (hosted by Hal Douglas in the form of a talking jack-o-lantern), and DTV Monster Hits (hosted by Jeffrey Jones as the Evil Queen's magic mirror). Halloween Treat excepted, these specials were aired a handful of times and never made available for purchase, though you can find them online if you look.
I'm not going to share the specials here because as we all know, Disney has an army of lawyers and I'd like to remain free of copyright strikes. BUT! What I am sharing is every commercial and program bumper from all three of these delightful shows. There's nearly 40 minutes of vintage advertising gold here, from the Cosby family singing and dancing for a then-two park Walt Disney World to a bizarre bread crumb commercial featuring "the Davis family." Keep an eye out for a VERY young Donald Faison (Clueless, Scrubs) in an Oatmeal Crisp jingle!
Enjoy, and PLEASE LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE! - Фільми й анімація
The first Halloween costume I can vividly remember was 1978 and I was 7, I was Luke Skywalker with the really bad plastic mask and paper suit. Fast forward to 84 and I was a 13 yr. Old Freddy Krueger I even made a glove in shop with real metal blades, this was before high school shootings, so no big deal with the teachers.☠️
Cool
We are close in age. I did the same thing with the Freddy Krueger glove! Still have it to this day! lol
classic commercilas made more sense than commercilas today things today realy a drag.
We can't find this tape or the Christmas ones, so I'm so fascinated with recreating that. My mom taped this as well as TOTALLY MINNIE, And I feel like I learned a lot of music from it. Thriller, Sweet Dreams from this, Tell it to my heart, nasty, I'm so excited -- from totally minnie.. And many more! Thanks for this upload if ever I want to stitch together a fake tape. Glad you have pride in the tape and put it to good use. :)
Love it! My crown jewel is a tape that has Frosty, Charlie Brown Xmas and Disney Xmas with Plutos Tree, Donalds Snowball Fight and capped off with Mickey's Xmas Carol. My mom even drew a little snowman next the the Frosty.
I also scored a copy of Disney Monster Hits on Betamax! ...I'm sick of that playlist! 🤪
Do you have that Christmas tape digitized? I’d love to trade with you for it!
Suzi Wan Kenobi lmao
Back like Freddy! Or any of the others who always come back. Today my Halloween starts with the King of Halloween Michael Myers, and ends with E.T and of course Reeses Pieces 👻
Omgosh memories!!
Is that Ming Na-Wen, the actress from "The Joy Luck Club" @ 0:31? Looks a lot like her!
It is! Good catch! Donald Faison of Scrubs and Clueless shows up in the Oatmeal Crisp ad too!
Omg puffalumps, I had one!
I miss Jamesway so much. :( :(
I just stumbled across your channel. Do you have more commercials from the 80's/90's from Philly?? You're bringing tons of memories back. I'm subbing either way. Thanks for the nostalgia!
This is so awesome! This is a great way to remember all the best things from our past!
2:05 where was Bill? Where was Minnie? Ahhhhh.......
Such a simpler time😊
18:18 Genesis for Virgin Airways.
26:11 a snippet of the iconic voice of Gary Owens.

Was that Hyacinth Bucket (Bookayyyy) refusing to pay a lot for a muffler???
Good eye! Pretty sure that’s her!
I went looking for my talking mother goose on Friday and I could not find it at K-Mart! All I found were what looked like homeless people in what looked like a closed store. They did try to sell me what they called their blue light specials. They did say check out Jan's Health Studio in Madison, Wisconsin. They said ask for Barb. I also couldn't get the keyboard... :(
I remember that toy!!

WTAF - you're from the Philadelphia area, aren't you? I live in Southern New Jersey and I recognized some of the local commercials immediately! This is a great collection - thanks for sharing!!! :-)
You're welcome, thank you for watching and commenting! I live in DE, about 45 minutes from Philly, so I watched this station a lot as a kid. Stay tuned, I'll be sharing more Halloweeny goodness throughout the month! And then there's Christmastime...
Very cool. I live about an hour from Delaware, 45 minutes from Philadelphia, and 20 minutes from Atlantic City. The town I grew up in received New York and Philadelphia stations, so I watched everything. I have a pretty good collection myself (I feature it on my blog every Thursday and Friday), and I'm expanding my archives into the early 2000s (my cut off is 2003 at this time). But it is always nice to see what other have to offer! I subscribed, cannot wait to see what you have in store for the holidays!
Is that Fran Brill in the Good Seasons commercial?

I noticed something unusual about these commercials, none of the men were portrayed as idiots or buffoons and the women were not portrayed at humorless know it all bitches. It was shocking to see how likeable they all were. Times really have changed.
I agree with you!! I hate the need to infantilize men in commercials and on tv in general. Same with overly bitchy dominating women.
@@elizlikethequeen Amen and it doesn't make me want to buy their product either.
Unfortunately my city it seems,or around about these commercials came from
Unfortunately?
Most unassuming SNL host ever. Who was that guy? My uncle Ron?
What you are calling "Disney's Halloween Treat" is actually "Disney's Scary Tales of Halloween" which is a shorter version of Treat. Can you upload the title sequence of DTV's Monster Hits from a commercial before it starts to the first commercial after the title sequence since all versions have cut off the beginning of the title? And can you upload the full credit sequence including the final commercial since all copies also cut this off as well? Feel free to use Archive to share these specials in full.
those were the days. what i would to go back to the 1970s and 80s. wasnt such a thing as covid 19.
What a waste of time. There's nothing Halloween about these commercials
If you had read the title and description, you'd see that it clearly says these are the commercial blocks from 3 Halloween specials recorded off tv. Nowhere does it say they are Halloween commercials
