But the comic thankfully makes it seem that Vader knew all along, and was just trying to hide it from the emperor, so he could use Luke to help him overthrow him.

I like the idea that in their very first meeting Vader was openly NOT impressed with Luke, calling his performance with lightsaber mostly pathetic with the boy not worthy seconds to strike him down.
When Vader realized that Luke's lightsaber is the same one that Obi-wan stole from Vader on Mustafar, why didn't he figure out that this boy is his own son? Vader knew that Obi-wan took Padme off of Mustafar after he defeated him and that Obi-wan and Luke were on board the millennium falcon that "blasted its way off of Tatooine." Vader didn't need Boba Fett to tell him who Luke was.
Actually they crossed paths in New Hope when Kenobi got killed and Luke in grieving frenzy shot in Vader's general direction, if not for blast doors falling down and Vader getting blocked from the hangar, they would actually have met right then and there.
They met in Splinter of Mind's Eye. That was supposed to be the original sequel A New Hope. In the story, Vader was fighting Luke and tripped over his severed arm and fell into a pit. I had to admit that was pretty funny.
I keep ‘Yavin Ceremony’ Luke in rotation on BF2, mainly because of this comic run. That pre Jedi knight/master kinda rebel, marauder hero Luke is my favorite!
All these look way better now! I’m very conflicted with RPR though. Exquisite ver seems a tiny bit of a downgrade from the normal Avatar Scythe. Having to give up the cool red demonic circle rune/glyph effect on the other side of the blade for an additional flowing effect on the blade isn’t that great. I was hoping it would stack. 😅

Early in ESB when the empire finds the rebel base on Hoth, Vader says, 'And I'm sure Skywalker is with them.'
