I've been binging your stuff all night, this is AMAZING!! I spent so many years cobbling together these convoluted ways to do simple stuff and your videos just show such nice & clean ways to do things that would've saved me countless debugging hours. Thank you for this masterful tutorial series.
Simple yet cool tips, I love your channel more every time you upload a video xD there's simply no waste in any of your videos.
You're welcome, I really like Unity and I'm learning quite slowly how to use it, but I hope I manage to learn at least half of what you show so I can start actually making something and then learn by doing it xD so you're the one who needs to be thanked a lot :)
I've been using Unity for a god damn year and a half and didn't know about the Align with View option. your videos are absolutely fantastic. I'm a second year game design student, and in the short time I've been subbed to your channel you have helped my studies tremendously. I fully intend to become a new patron soon. Please keep up the awesome work.
+One Dead Pixel Thanks a lot man! Really glad you like the videos :) And yeah, align with view is truly a hidden gem
Finally, someone who doesn't do a 30 minute long video and expect you to scroll in between time slider to find what you need in middle of night when project is due next day!
You have NO IDEA how helpful this video is for me!! Thanks, Brackeys.
@Brackeys One tip that I know of and not been included in the video is, while placing any object in scene window if you press and hold 'V' you can snap that gameobject on to other objects.
This is very helpful if you want to place an object just right without even calculating where it should be placed. This is also helpful thing if you try to scale or rotate because it then allows you to choose your own pivot point instead of the default one.
Also if you want to animate a object inside unity this thing can be awesome, I use this a lot.
Feels great to know most of these! I also never knew that you could just right click the title area of a component for the reset/copy/paste menu. This opens up a whole new world of not accidentally clicking the documentation button when trying to click the cog :D
I work with Unity for 4 years now and the majority of the tips where new to me and really useful! Thanks a lot! (Specially the Grid snap & Camera to view transform I mean holy snap
Omg that align camera to view is a life saver and the ones on range and headers are a life saver. Please do more thank you so much
lol, i've used unity for 2 years now and some of these i had no idea exited xD i really like the space and the range. i'll without a doubt use those from now on!
I don't remember which video it was but one of your series you showed us a shortcut for for statements and if statements so you didn't have to write it out that's a great tip for people to know!
Writing from 2021! Cool tip that maybe you all know that [Tooltip("information about value")] will add a hint to your value when you hold your mouse on the value it will show up!
I came to the video expecting to already know these, but many of them I did not know, thanks Brackeys!
that space and header is gold!
Ive had Unity for 2-3 years now and I actually didnt know about a lot of the tips. Truly ingenius! A video for beginners and experst alike
Great tips, especially the grid one & the header & spaces tag
I think my favorite tip was being able to make both cameras match the game view. Very useful!
Great video! I knew about half of them.
I think space/header will be of most use. I knew about serialize field, but hide in inspector will help me out a lot too
I requested a video like this in a livestream some time ago. This was just what I was wishing for. Small quick tips on how to be more productive. You rock as always!
Many thanks from Sweden.
Changing colors when in playmode really helped alot
Been following this channel for a long while now. I have grown a lot over the years, and so has the production value of this channel. Great job man :)
The range for variables is very cool. Thanks !
Thank you so much! I had no idea about the grid snap option -- I've actually been looking for that one for quite a while!
I think I will have to rewatch this video every few weeks. I saw this a couple weeks ago and had forgotten about half of these. (The other half I made a lot of use of during my recent game jam project. :))
This is why we love Brackeys!
I work with Unity for 3 years and never noticed the Debug menu. That's awesome!
Just learned about the SerializeField option! Thanks so much brotha
Wow thank you very much! I cannot believe that I always had to drag and drop item by item to an array on inspector before! This will save a lot of time hehe.
Been using unity since 2.x and I still found some useful tips! Awesome content bro!
knew 1-7 but the last three were new, love these kinds of tips!
The first one is just life saving! Thanks!
Thanks Brackeys for all the tips & tutorials. You are my first Unity tutor in my life.
I have learned a lot from your channel. Thank You for all the C# and Unity lessons.
Fundamental but really, really useful:
- Shift + Space to maximize a view. Useful for setting up scenes.
- Setting up different layouts depending on different parts of your workflow.
- Locking layers you DONT want to click on. Very useful for 2D animation.
thank you very much for all the help you have given me I owe all my skill in unity from noob to intermediate to you and so do many others, thank you for another great video
Thanks for sharing some of these! I am hoping to use these more often in the future!
Wow, what a great video! Keep it up!
These are awesome, i really love seeing life saving tips i haven't yet noticed. Please do more of these quick and easy to learn vids!
I was working on a game and while setting levels just now saw the grid thing its so easy now thanks good guy keep it up
The dragging with CTRL was the best tip for me. I want more tips videos. :D
Wow, never knew about Debug and Range. They will definitely be useful, thanks!
Knew all of them, now I feel like a pro. :D Will you do a 2nd part? Also the quality of this video is much better than your tutorial videos, are they all going to be woth this good quality now?
Glad you like it! I've been aiming for higher quality standalone videos lately :) Hopefully that can be felt on the tutorials as well :D
Brackeys Looking forward to your future videos. :D Too bad they are only 2 times a week but I understand they are hard to make.
I really apreciate the effort and time that you put in your videos. :)
THIS CHANGES MY LIFE
i havent even used unity yet and this was an awesome help!
SUPER HELPFUL. I knew half of those, but the other half kind of blew my mind :D
This video is the best! I need 90 more for your top 100 tips!
I knew some of these buy not all, a few of these will definitely help to improve work flow.
Awesome video it's so basics I almost ignore it... Thanks
You make the Best Unity Tutorials!
I think you should make these a weekly series
Number 7 is actually in the current roadmap, "In-progress, timelines long or uncertain" :) Didn't know it exists, awesome.
tnx man! Knew some of them, but this will really make my life (and that of my team) a little easier.
Performance tips:
1) Use pre rendered scene on texture as video to increase performance in game menu if backdrop is a scene.
2) Disable all game obj that the player cant see to increase FPS. You can just disable the mesh if game obj moves around, like a monster.
THANK YOU!!!!! The Play mode tint is a progress saver. Just lost some changes I did!! :( But, this is the end of that mistake!!! Thanks dude!!!
Watched almost every of your videos and they are totally amazing! This one is amazing too ! Please make more tutorials like the slow-motion gun effect one ! Also keep on creating and thanks for reacting to my previous comment with a heart :D !
Thanks Brackeys! These tips are super convenient.
Wow - three minutes of important information! Great video - I love these!
Please do come with more tips like this, very helpful for new developers! :)
Only #8 is new for me, so thanks for that! I feel advanced in Unity now ;D
That was great. I am fairly new to unity and loved all of those tips and your channel. If you have more handy tips please share them on another video, the ones you highlighted will solve many problems i experience. :)
dude please continue your work ! it's amazing !!!!!
Great videos! Please make more tutorial and tips video! I love Unity and want to expand my horizon with your help!
I love the tutorials, they are by far the best I have seen on youtube, but I was wondering if you could do an extension to your shooting with raycasts and reloading tutorials about displaying the ammo count as you. I think this would really help a lot of people find what their looking for.
Wow , so many useful info in a 3-minute video . Awesome !!!!!
This is pretty sick! looking for part 2!
Awesome! Love the Tinted Play option. Now I won't look dumb every time :)
You can also add headers to variables. This can be useful for grouping variables or descriptions. Just incase anyone wanted to know.
Nice new about half of them. Hope you make more like this.
You forgot the snap vertex, it looks like the snap grid but instead of the grid you use the vertex of objects. to use simple hold F and move the cursor to any vertex.
I'm sorry if any of the sentences were strange, I'm from Brazil and I used google translate
:D
learned more here than in whole series of tutorials. imo best vid (but iam intermediate)
#2 will make my life better now thank you so much!!!!
Thank you for making this video concise! I love how you layered you explaining what the setting does over the video of you actually changing whatever setting you're talking about. Concurrency!
Brackeys, you are my dad. I love your videos so much
Thanks so much. Also love the new UA-cam icon. I really like this short but sweet vids btw.
Well I don't know if I feel sad or happy by already knowing 9 of 10 of this tips. Thanks for the debug one info.
Have you made any video about tips for visual studio with Unity?

I have been using Unity for quite a while & I did not know about most of this stuff!! Thank you.

THESE ARE GOLD TIPS!
Very helpful video! Keep it going.
Excellent, pertinent and helpful as usual! Tanks!

Dude, I've been using Unity on-and-off for years, and I just opened it up specifically to use the "tinted editor" tip for play mode!
_That's always been a big problem for me, especially when trying to save the scenes..._
Thanks for making this video! Really helpful
You could do one like this for programming as well ;)
Want a constructor? ctor + tab.
Need a for loop? for + tab.
Creating interfaces (getters and setters) -> You can implement them automatically after creating getters and setters
etc..
If you have a TON of variables. Then if they share a common theme or work together then instead of writing a new line, just use a , and write them all at once so it looks better and maybe easier to find.
thanks that camera view one is extremely helpfiil
Brackeys is the best!
all good tips..! i wonder there's more
thanks Brackeys
These tips are so useful!
You just saved me!! Thanks for awesome videos!!

Just use it daily and you will get to know them by looking stuff up while developing games. However, his tutorials give a good base to this.
As a beginner I found this very useful

0:30 - Snapping to the grid
0:46 - Locking the inspector
1:02 - Debug mode
1:24 - Align with view
1:45 - Range
1:54 - Saving changes in playmode
2:12 - Spaces & Headers
2:23 - Hide in inspector
2:30 - Serialize field
Thank you for video
cidden üşenmemişsin :D
