Great video guys!! How about valve lash? I changed oil but I am wondering what you guys do for valve lash on your Talons? When? ...How? ..How often? Thanks👍
We play it by ear... If they sound fine, they are. If a little noisy, we check/shim them by the service manual. Haven't heard of any needing shimmed yet... Thanks for watching.
I've had no complaints with cab heat. Mine has the top and half windshield. I'm sure, as with the majority of SxS's, if you crawl it around much there will be a little heat.
Yes they definitely Put heat in the cab , I have a Talon r, It pours in and around the Glove Box and around the gear Shifter Is where I mostly notice it, On mine I definitely wouldn't do a full windshield on front or back.
The oil change intervals are programmed from the factory. 100 miles, then every 600 miles after. A wrench will come up on the display each time its ready for service. Press and hold the reset button, turn on the key, hold a few seconds. This will clear the service wrench. Thanks for watching..!!
there's also another oil drain spot when a rock knocks a hole in your underprotected oil pan. also make sure your fan is pulling air through your rad and not wired backwards pushing air.
How did you get the Honda Talon to jump level, the back end wants to fly up and the nose will stay down on mine, making it to be very scary at times, By the way love the videos
eric boardman Doc did shock adjustments on his Talon R. It doesn’t jump completely level like our X, due to the different shock setups. But it did help jump a little more level on Doc’s R.
eric boardman our R still doesn’t jump level. Even after numerous different tries for adjusting the shocks. It still noses. It did help a little bit but it’s not like the X
I highly recommend changing the sub trans to a full synthetic gear oil.
Blue holler is a great place to ride!
Not bad! Thanks for watching

So you put 6.1 quarts of oil in the engine fill and then 1.3 in the sub trans for a total of 7.4?
@Keto Kevin. Correct. I think the sub trans is 1.35. So you will need to purchase 8 quarts for a full service.
Thanks for watching.
_Doc_ TEAM WAX OFFROAD thank you!
X is ready for another 600 miles. Another fine tutorial Lando!!!
Good vid! Have you notice excessive cab heat with the Talons ?

Yup....cup holders are cool....but warm as well🙈 being in ALaska....it’s something I can live with lol
OK that’s all fine and dandy but how do you set the oil change interval on the display

-Doc- TEAM WAX Yeah I found that out earlier on the Talon OG
there's also another oil drain spot when a rock knocks a hole in your underprotected oil pan. also make sure your fan is pulling air through your rad and not wired backwards pushing air.
Nice job on this how-to video.
Sub trans and engine take the same oil ?
Colon Montgomery. Yes, they use the same type oil.
Good job on the video guys!
did u need to do the valve at 100 miles just wondering
No
According to the service manual the first service is suppose to include checking the valve clearance. Why didn't you do that?
The valves sounded fine at this point. Some things in all service manuals are over kill in my opinion. Thanks for watching.
Larry Krupp if they sound fine I just send it bub
