Kyle you were so open, honest and humble bro. I wish you much continued success living down there. 👊🏼
Kyle is THE MAN!
I've been traveling/living in Colombia since 2011.
Manizales, Caldas is my favorite city in Colombia.
I have 2 adopted Colombian brothers and many friends there.
Sopó, Cundinamarca is my next favorite.
...and Pasto, Nariño is third.
I don't go to the coastal regions. I prefer the mountains...and smaller cities and towns.
I don't usually associate with expatriates/foreigners or go to tourist locations/areas...nor do I go to the bars, activities and behavior tourists/foreigners usually do.
I've been spending a portion of the year living in Colombia and México at this time.
Chao.
Retired Vietnam era veteran, ex Detroiter, expatriate currently living in México and Colombia.
Thanks for watching. Happy travels!
How long have you been living in Manizales? Is there a time in the year when it is not raining and cold in Manizales?
Best interview you have done. I rather you do more of these then the girls. Also I appreciate you asking for the older guys perspective
I'll continue doing my best!
Great interview Saiyan , arrived in Cali today I feel so good
Bienvenido a Cali, Colombia. Espero que tengas una buena estadía. Dios te bendiga. De un lugareño.
@@leondejuda5353mil gracias mi amigo
Glad you made it!
Welcome Othieno. From a local. I hope you have a great stay.
Jardin Plaza, the best mall, south Cali. River Pance Ecological Park if you like Nature, a 4 km trekking beautiful path, it's free and secure.
CHIC-TOWN-CHICAGO, IL, USA! Thanks to the both of you for sharing this informative and enlightening video! Gracias!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very informative. Interviews with men living there might not get the numbers but are imo the most valuable.
I'll work on more!
Best of Luck with the people in Cali . Chipichape is a good place to have a coffee.
Yes indeed
Hello Saiyan, Glenn here; keep those awesome videos rolling. They're inspiring for me. I really appreciated your question to him about guys like me who are retired, and how that could be.
You got it
you never disappoint....great interview!!
Thanks!
Love this guys honesty and vulnerability. Respect to that 💪🏼
Would be curious to know what neighborhood he’s in to pay $350 a mo for furnished studio.
My rent is almost 3x more than that in Granada for a furnished 1bed
You can search for some on fincaraiz.com.co. What your are paying in granada is more short term rental prices
Yo saiyan Chan you're starting to blow up. Congrats man, just caught one of your recent videos. Keep up the good work bro. I'm still iffy about Colombia and the scope you got out there lol
Thanks! Will do!
Great info and content. I'll comment more in an e-mail to you. As you know, I'm in Manizales and have a pretty good feel for the town.
Alright!
Is there a time in the year when it gets warm and sunny in Manizales?
Great content. I love being a Man. We truly want to help each other succeed. These Countries are going to draw in a LOT of Americans that will make their countries GreatER Good for you, Man.
That's the goal, thanks for supporting!
Great interview!!
Saiyan, how is Cliff doing?
Good, recovering, should be back for feria
I like Cali, but other than nature walks, and salsa dancing what other activities are there to do?
Cycling, indoor gym and physical activities, every kind of dance you can imagine, wine tasting, all kinds of art and painting, learning musical instruments, futbol, horseback riding
Andre From Love Crossing Boarders lives in Cali also and he sold me on that city. Check out his page too. You guys should do a collab.
You should try Bogota guys it is awesome
For me it's Cali and Cartagena 4 life. Bogota too cold!
Taking it slow, how long should I stay at minimum ?
Hi Saiyan,
I would need a consultation.
Send me your info
Thanks
Kyle, nailed it when he said the dating life is "more humane and social aspect" than it is in North America. I agree with that 100%. I also got to agree with Kyle, it's very hard to resist the seedy side of life. When I go to Medellin I spend a lot of my evenings in seedy bars because it makes me feel young again and the women won't call you a creep like they would in North America. The only thing I am not liking these past few years is the sheer number of Venezuelans have taken over a lot of the hostess bars in the Veracruz area, largely due to the bar owners paying the illegals a lot less. Those Venezuelans working in these bars are nowhere near as pretty as Colombian women, unfortunately. So it's making the hostess bars on Avenida Cundinamarca a lot less desirable and more dangerous.
Here is what I got from this. Don't go there unless you learn Spanish first.
Other videos taught me: loose 80 lbs. before going.
Age is an issue, so go as soon as possible before you are another year older.
come as you are, and work on improving yourself as you go!
Colombia is for young people is you prefer a quiet country go to ecuador or peru or bolivia
@@leom6165 interesting. Do you have any video recommendations for these countries?
@@pauljensen4773 There are plenty of vids of expats from ecuador
Kyle has a distinct Colombian accent and he seems to struggle with simple English terms. Maybe he is just nervous in front of the camera. Def nerdish. Clearly a good guy otherwise. No big take aways on this interview though.
That happens when you’ve lived in a non-English-speaking country for a few years. I’m going on my third year living in Colombia and spending a little bit of time in Ecuador. I don’t speak English very often unless I call home to say hi to the fam. And I definitely noticed a difference as far as not being quite as articulate as I was before I moved here. Not a huge difference but it’s definitely there. Once in a while, I’ll find myself searching for a word. So that’s probably the deal with this guy.
I really enjoyed this interview,he seems very genuine, good to know he loves living in Cali so doI after 37 years
My experience in Medellin is that there was no white people in sight. I’m not sure where the gringos where. I felt alone.
it still baffles me that 'salsa dancing' is the SINGLE most important thing in the lives of Columbians ....
“Colombians “
No Tatterr. No dancing salsa only. It's dancing. Move your feet and body with the appropiate rythm and direct the woman as a man. Woman needs feel you have the command. From a local.
It's called being social and having fun. Dancing in latin america is a social activity that is acceptible with family, friends and/or those you find sexy without blinking an eye. In the US this is a foreign concept.
It's not. They are more diverse than that. They listen to Reageton, Salsa, Ballenato (Their Local Music) and many other genres. Although in Cali, Salsa is very popular
It's not, for 43% it's finding a way to have enough to eat that day.
this guy is been there a long time what seems to be the problem that he has not found anyone, ? il tell you what is wrong all the girl i had met in colombia there is this feeling i get is that there is something missing with these women
Come to the Philippines and get a girl from the province. You'll see what was missing (a girl who happily submits to her man) and has pure intentions
Good women are there. I dated 10 women from the coast before I met my current girlfriend who happens to be from Cali. She’s smart, kind, attentive, and super traditional. Don’t give up.
He found some along the way.. Didn't last, but not all are going to. Human relationships are a complicated thing
im starting to think the same. probably they are not as receptive to relationships as people think. im already talking to them on datings apps and the girls are boring as hell. they dont even try to connect with you. like what wanderingdoc said maybe in the philipines its alot better and the women try more
@@wanderingdoc5075 i would but i dont want having a kid that looks oriental
This guy look like gringo how dose he survice and do u need Spanish for 🇻🇪 or English okay
Come as you are, pick up Spanish along the way. You will be fine!
man why is this man still single ? it tells me somthing about colombia. maybe he should go to the philipines or thailand. heck guys are starting to talk more about vietnam.
great interview
