  • Hear how different guitar effects sound on an acoustic guitar such as phaser, flanger, chorus, delay, octaver, uni-vibe, and reverb.
While guitar effects are common with electric guitarists, acoustic guitarists can get some impressive sounds out of the same effects pedals.
In this video, I demonstrate how different effects can give your playing a completely different vibe. You can hear how I change the way I play certain parts to work with different effects.
To learn more about using guitar effects on acoustic guitar, check out this comprehensive guide: guitargearfinder.com/guides/e...
In the above guide, I explain each of the pedals you hear in this video and how to get the most out of them.
If you're looking for effects pedals that can be used for more subtle uses, check out this guide on essential pedals for acoustic guitarists: guitargearfinder.com/guides/p...
I explain how you can use different pedals to enhance your acoustic tone and provide pedalboard examples.
If you like this straight-to-the-point no-talking video and find it useful, let me know in the comments so I know to make more of them.

This exactly what we need for pedal reviews, not the 30 minutes of talking and 2 minutes of playing. 👍

The flanger should be much more subtle. The reverb is a shimmer, which works well on acoustic guitar. The Uni-Vibe is a treat! I recommend a rotary effect: check out the Danelecro Big Spender.

I cranked the effects to make them obvious in the video. But you're 100% right - subtle usually works best with acoustic guitar. Rotary effects are a great idea - I'll have to check out the Big Spender.

Nice, but where can i found that reverb(example1)?

All of the effects are from the plugin BIAS FX 2. But if you want to buy a pedal that sounds like that reverb, look for one that has a 'shimmer' option. Some reverb pedals worth checking out that include shimmer are the BOSS RV-6, TC Electronic Hall of Fame 2, Eventide Space, Strymon Big Sky.

Great job brother. I love effects on my acoustic to include a little od. For rhythm would you suggest phaser or flanger and why? Read your article but wanted a little more of personal taste. Thanks

A phaser or flanger can sound great on rhythm parts. Which one you use and what settings to use depends on the style of the song and whether you're using strumming or arpeggios. For example, a fast strumming song might sound good with a slow flanger to add some energy to the part. A slow arpeggio part might sound good with a fast phaser.
Experiment with different effects and let your ears tell you what works and what doesn't.

@@AaronMatthies right on man thanks again! Would love more acoustic demos for sure! Considering thorpyfx camouflage flanger. But pricy but a great pedal with features useful to acoustic guitar.

Nice showing us differend effects and modules, but the best sound is without them all just the basic sound of this guitar it kills them all 👍
Maybe fun on electric guitar, but all distort the naturel sound of the instrument in any cheap and form

Nice comparisons but it would be nice if the riffage was mixed up more rather than hearing that same Beatles thing over and over
