Great run-through of this awesome pedal! Thanks for doing this. There are so few Raster V2 videos about, so far! Would also love to see a pitch delay shoot-out between this, the Thermae, Hedra and whatever else you might have knocking about...
Thanks ! Unfortunately I only have one other pitch delay atm and thats the specular tempus. The nemesis had to go back since it had broken bypass switch that would not latch it one sometimes. I am going to look for another nemesis but my retailer of choice is out of them. I might pickup another hedra though since I do miss it and will make some extra cash soon after selling a synth I don't use at all. Thermae was fun but not super useful since it was so lofi.
This is cool. I'm just now setting up my Synth stuff. I'm a guitar player, so I am not an expert on Synths, at all. What is one pedal you would have to have, as a synth player? Reverb, or Delay? Thanks!
Depends on genre you are playing for sure. Either a good delay or reverb could work. I would say both so something like the source audio collider would be ideal.
Not at all. The raster is a delay with full stereo functions as in it creates a stereo image and has the usual feedback loop. The Tensor is a glitch / granular looper. It technically does not have feedback, and does not generate a stereo image on it's own.
The dd500 is really good so unless you want something like a standalone tape emulation or a pitch delay I would stay with that. Pitch delay is now going to be my raster v2 or a source audio nemesis As for rv500 the ventris is my favorite at the moment.
RV500 is already top-notch. Boss' successor to the RV500 may be your upgrade, but that will be in the future and there is no guarantee that it will be an upgrade.
@@YukiTheSynthDragon Trying out the IKM X-Space, it has a shallow-ish sound. It does sound really good to a significant extent, but shallow, lacks sense of depth versus my other reverbs like the RV500, EHX reverbs, and Mercury7. I may return it. Pro Audio Star let me have one with a nice discount, but it still sort of displeases me a bit. An initial impression went a bit worse as I accidentally left my DR-40X's built-in reverb enabled. edit: after going back and forth between my EHXs, Meris, HoF2, and X-Space, there's just "something missing" in the X-Space, or some aspect of the algorithms that I like is a bit "too quiet", but it's not that shallow, and it's pretty good, I think I'll keep it afterall also, no input threshold like the Walrus R1, which annoys me and Walrus Audio told me is normal
Great demo! Subd for sure!
Very cool 😎! Thanks for the awesome demo. Very nicely done ✔ 👏. Mark Bensette Aux Bois 🇨🇦.

@@YukiTheSynthDragon thanks for outlining your perspective on the other pitch delay alternatives.

Dont the Tensor and Raster overlap a lot? Do you use them for as a combo or just different purposes? Nice video!

I have a DD500 and RV500 delay and reverb, what else is out there worth upgrading these for in your opinion?

Hey, will you try out the new IK Multimedia effect pedals? I've ordered the reverb to try out.
No, they do not sound very good from any of the demo's I have heard at all. I do not want to invest time or money into them.
@@YukiTheSynthDragon I was impressed by the reverb, so I am eagerly awaiting to try it out.
