@stuartn3522 thank you so much for you lovely comments and info. There are some truly wonderful busses in there, it was an absolute joy to see them. Glad you enjoyed the video 😊 Thanks again. Em
This is a really good film to watch this evening. You have captured the decades of early public travel by buses. Love the background music in parts. I have been here in the past and you have reminded me about it . Keep the films coming. Regards Charles.
Hi Charles, thank you so much for your lovely comments, I really appreciate them 😊 It was a wonderful place to visit, I'll be back there for sure. Glad you enjoyed the music too. Thanks again for your support. Emma
Hi Em. Just subscribed to your channel.on recommendation of the Chatter Guys and my friend Dave Hodgson. This is such an interesting video. We had similar buses in Preston when I was a wee lad in the 60s. Also in mid 80s we had the mini "Zippy" buses who I used to drive for, which were the same as the Little Gems.♥️
Hi Mark, Thanks so much for your comments and for subscribing to my channel. Awww the Chatter Guys and Dave are such lovely people. Glad you enjoyed my video and the nostalgic trip! Zippy.. what a cute name for a bus, love it. I have loads more videos coming soon. Thanks again! Em 😊😊
It's a great place to visit and a reminder that until the early '70's when the PTE Orange and White replaced everything, that Manchester was host to buses of every colour! The collection not only includes the last open rear platform double decker to enter service in this country (Stockport 91) but also the last front engined half cab double decker to enter service in the UK (Ramsbottom 11 (although technically delivered to SELNEC)), both in 1969. Must go again someday.
It really is a wonderful place, with so much history! Thanks so much for your wonderful comments and for watching the video. I need to go there again soon too 😊😊
I definitly remember the Gm buses north and south! Don't know why but I always enjoyed travelling on the Leyland atlantean's more than the olympian around bury/bolton areas when I was a teenager in the mid to late 90's. Brought back some memories seeing the Gm express with the 400 route on display! Used to travel all the way to manchester airport from bolton (on the same bus) in the summer months when the express service extended further on from stockport to the airport (which I think was actually the 401 if memory serves me right). Thanks for the trip down memory lane Em x
Awww I'm so happy to hear it brought back dome happy memories for you. I remember the 400 and 401 buses too 😁🚌 Thanks so much for your comments and support xx
Can you recall the route numbers when you were a wee girl Em? I remember the ones I would catch into Wigan with Mum were the 333 & 343 until they got renumbered around 1979
Wow, cool ace ping ping
Thanks so much 😁😁 ace stuff! Glad you enjoyed the video
Great video; very pleased to see a Leyland Royal Tiger in there too; an unusual bus in the UK; a massive success abroad as the Worldmaster! 😎
