Very inspiring story. I am a Dutch POC starting medicine next month. Dutch is my native language so atleast I didn't have the diploma or language struggle. I studied something else 1 year after I failled to ge in at 1 uni. What really made a difference for me is doing a good analysis of where I have the best chance of getting in. My first attempt I only thought about the city I wanted to go. At age 15 or 16 I always thought about a single city / uni. Applying where rhe selection is in your favour is the best plan IMO. Eventually I also realised the uni I studied the non medicine degree at for 1 year is the best uni for me. Now I'm leaving it.
Thank you very much for sharing this🙏🏾 So you are going to study medicine now in a different university from the one where you studied for the one year before?
@@oxlegacy Yes bro, different university VU --> UvA. But I really like VU. As a highschooler I always considered Leiden as my future uni. Things went different.

Damn! I wish I did IB, a cousin told me to do so for my two last years of high school but I was like nah I’m fine. Today I regret, diploma availability issues etc I’m promoting the IB everywhere I can! Cameroon education sometimes isn’t worth it
@@oxlegacy yes I got it last year and I’m applying to Maastricht uni I got the Conditional acceptance but now they said they’ll study my case since my diploma won’t be out before the start of the program nor in upcoming years
@@wtfyurpi oh rightt. Let’s keep our fingers crossed🤞🏾 Hope it works out, sometimes you just have to give them more to work with and not give up easily. I feel your struggle but there’s light at the end of the tunnel🙏🏾
