*You know it's bad when a Lionchief steam locomotive costs more than almost every American Flyer S Gauge steam locomotive made in the past 20 years...* Yikes😬
@@mslickstrainsThat Lionchief pacific is $700 *it was originally $430 in 2016, Lionel overinflated the price by $270.* Oh, and it's the same price as the S gauge American Flyer Legacy usra pacifics, and more expensive than the Legacy American Flyer berkshires...
You know what outrages about Santa Fe F3s is that with the extra 100$ you could get the 120th anniversary set that includes a pair of Santa Fes F3 and freight cars. The set with the prewar Vanderbilt tender and hudson set is also crazy high, why couldn't they atlas add some track with it, the price would have made more sense especially with the inclusion of tubular or FastTrack. Like take the NYC F3 postwar inspired set, it comes with track and transformer, i was hoping for this year they would make more sets like this post and prewar inspired
It's NOT A CELEBRATION OF 125 YEARS! It informs us it will take long for the average collector how long it will take to pay off this inferior Chinese junk.
I always liked the Postwar S2 #681. Dad has one with the green passenger cars and as a kid I loved running it. The drivers made this unusual clicking noise that I weirdly love, and the engine could pull a long train! The "fancier" pinstripe version (I think it's the #682) is on my bucket list of trains. Bit of a missed opportunity for Lionel since they have one with pinstripes in the magazine. They messed up this entire catalog. The only thing I actually liked in this catalog were the NS Heritage Units, but even those were too steep. And they finally made non-powered units, but none in classic themes like NS, CSX, UP, or BNSF (which is what I'm looking for)
Trashy catalog, particularly when it is 125 yr anniversary. Everything is overpriced . Too many fantasy items and not enough variety. I will spend $0.00 on this mess. Have to be Bezos or Musk to continue purchasing from Lionel particularly once the trade tariffs take effect
Worst Lionel catalog in years ! Had hoped to see 1950's post war sets return as in the conventional classics sets early 2000's. The only item of interest vision line THB HUDSON. Placed preorder with my dealer last fall when it was announced to haul my THB growing freight car collection. The prices of the scale passenger car packs plus the single cars have gone beyond reason ! What is sadly lacking for us in O gauge is competition since the demise of the old MTH. Back then prices were kept in check to some extent by both. At least the MTH / ATLAS tooling arrangement is some help.
I don't feel disappointed, I feel let down. Disappointed would be for any catalog. But this is the 125. Not 105, 10,15 or 20. Those r markers for sure but not the 125. The last big one was the 100 & the next one won't be for 25 more years at the 150. I really thought they were going to do something big. Something wow. Something crazy. Like a VL Crocodile lol. As I was turning the pages I kept waiting for it. I slowly realized as I got into other stuff that it wasn't coming. But with combination of prices and styles that I realized Lionel is out of touch. For them to sit around a table and not realize how lame BIG ART is, is revealing. I'm in my 50s and I guess I've just been stuck with Lionel. It's engraved. I don't have a single MTH or Atlas of anything. Maybe it took something this bad, this greedy and this lame to make my eye wonder.
Doesn’t look like a catalog celebrating 125 years.
