I don't know what I have done but recently all my cuts are NOT minimizing the material. If I have a design say 18" x 23" and I have color within the design that only says 1" x 3" its automatically cutting it using the entire 18" x 23" space and wasting all that material. HELP
How do you align your layers if you don't use registration marks? Please help me out on this, because I'm wasting a lot of vinyl. By the way nice lesson, very helpful. Best Regards Rick
Thanks for the great videos, I just purchased Flexi-starter and would like to know the BASIC import features and types of files needed to be imported, Then once in the program what do you need to do in order to cut (I do NOT have color trace in starter) I am able to vectorise any images and save them as an .eps for import to Flexi if that helps. ~Scott
@rck12369 First of all, I look carefully at all of the layers. I combine as much as I can. Then, as I place each piece on top of another, I use either a light table (if the piece is small enough and of the right material) or else I position the top piece by just lifting the edges (while the backing is still on it) and physically looking where the the piece is going to go. Also, I have a vinyl printer, so if have a design with more layers than is practical to deal with, I print and contour cut..
@bullene I am not sure I understand your question. If you are importing .eps files created with Adobe Illustrator, you may need to remove a bunch of masks but if you are working with .ai files, you can import them without having to convert them (still have masks to delete though). Point is, .eps files are basically ready to cut, so I don't see what you need help with. Can you give me something more specific? Where are you stuck?
I have never used 7.7 so not sure of the changes. The big changes to v10 from v8.2 is in the Production Manager. No clue what the differences are between what you use and 8.1. If you are working commercially, yes, you should upgrade, even though it is expensive.
Could you do a video, on beginning to end, sizing and cutting an image? I'm new to this.. and I haven't been able to locate any useful tutorials online for Flexisign pro 8.1

Mark Emmett I am the worst at using the keyboard shortcuts. I use ctrl 5 (center vertically and horizontally), ctrl 3 (center vertically), ctrl 7 (center horzontally), ctrl g (group selected objects) and ctrl u (ungroup selected objects). Other than that, I use the menus.
with respect to all of my friends, to those who knows the proper application of flexistarter V10.5 please load many videos so that i could learn fast and so that i have a guide studying with this software.. many thanks
Since you can only cut one color at a time you don't need to make any copies. All I did is change the color of the registration marks before cutting that color. Just make sure you don't move it.

Make sure your cutter settings are along the lines of "100% scale" or whatever. Make sure it is not set to increase the size or fit to media.
