- This video compares the one-pin roll crimper from Ballistic Products to the 4-pin roll crimper from The Reloader's Network. I've used BPI's roll crimper in both 12 and 20 ga for many years, however, The Reloader's Network finishes your loads just a little better.

The quality of Nick’s work is outstanding!!!! Got mine in the other day with one of the 12 gauge packages from The Reloader’s Network and am absolutely pleased with the roll crimper and all of his other products!!!!
I tried other roll crimper and they didn't work well.Bought the 4 pin from reloaders network and they are awesome.Perfect crimp every time.
Great video Leon!
Good video. I have been using the bp single pin but I am now going to switch, Thanks
Glad it helped!
Great video, and I appreciate the details! Vaseline works well on the roll crimper, just messier!
$50 is a little steep... Just starting out in shot shell reloading, after finding primers, lead, casting equipment, etc... I'll wait for a sale.
Good stuff as always. I enjoy your videos very much, I also follow you over on the Texas bow hunters forum.
Please keep up the strong work.
Nice to see a fellow TBH’er on here! Thanks for watching, brother!
Excellent video! Thank you
Outstanding! Great video.
The crimpers are made by a great guy and a great machinist named Nick Ross. He puts a lot of care into the tools he makes.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to review these!
Ordinance Corp hooah!
That was informative. Thank you.
Apparently they’ve been discontinued.
Fifty bucks is a lot of $$$ to pay for a crimp tool. I have been using the BPI twin pin for a few years now. Usually get decent crimps, but as you pointed out it does occasionally throw one that’s sub par.🤷🏼♂️
Think I will bite the bullet and buy one. Hope I’m as impressed with it as you are.
Any updates? I’m curious to hear your feedback!
Buck and Slug Reloaders Very impressed with it. I can show you some photos if you if you contact me on Messanger. James Holmes Dawson, Ga.
my 12 ga is a plastic one from BP works great, I got the 20ga from BP and actually disappointed in its performance, so I should've got one from nick on TRN, I've been using imperial sizing wax for roll crimp lube 👍...yup the 4 pin is more consistent a concentric
Yessir, I’m very impressed!
I bought a four pin right off the best years ago. Awesome crimps. They only issue i have is I get some that wrinkle. Mostly Winchester 10 gauge hulls. Don’t know if sis t have enough lube or they are just weak hulls? Remington and federal roll great. Chedite normally does ok but I need a lot of vasoline applied with a Qtip in my crimper.
Dam good information thank you.
Thanks brother!
Went to the reloaders network site to buy a 12 ga. quad pin crimper, no longer avaliable whats up. ?
Kinda man-handled (didn't wait for it to heat up a lil bit) the BPI crimped shell, but still make an okay crimp. 👍
I made one out if a socket and a car boty bolt and nut then used a grinder to take the 6 point off then bolt all together and then put a pin or not me no pin. i go off heat. One question how come people put so long of screw 🪛 on the slug to wad. I guess see this alot. Dont you want the wad to crush. because i see it mostly don't crush with so ling of screws that go throw hafe ways though the wad. I just thought 💭 what I've been seeing on video's.
What do you use for wads for your slugs
Alright Leon you talked me into ordering one lol
You won’t be disappointed!
Good video!
I’ll have to get me a 4 pin. I’m still using the plastic roll crimper from Slugs R Us. Oil!! Good tip. Will try that next as well.
Thanks for sharing!!
Jamie, I had their roll crimper. Ended up giving it away. However, I love their slugs!
Outstanding video!!!..... been looking into getting a roll crimp.... just made my decision alot easier...thanks for the G2!!
Glad to hear! You’ll love it.
Dude, I'm just now seeing this one. Thanks for the shout out!
You bet!
Thanks brother. I'm looking to get into reloading 12 gauge slugs.
Welcome to the madness!
Best roll crimper on the market.
Great video and reloading tips! I have to check my roll crimps to see if I have any two or four-pin roll crimps. I think I've bought one in each gauge (12, 16 & 20) from both suppliers (BPI and RNI). I agree with you that the consistency of the crimp will have an effect on the velocity and the accuracy of the loads. I think that Steve, from Fortune Cookie 45 LLC on UA-cam has talked about the differences in these pins,. I think he might have mentioned Nick Ross as the inventor or manufacturer.
Very good information. Finally someone that understands the importance of the crimps on a shotgun shell, it's the most important part of the reloading. I suggest you to try GAEP Italian quality great great crimping tools. 👍👍👍
Hi Frank. Thanks for watching! I do have GAEP’s roll crimpers and finishing crimper. Could never get the roll crimps right on them. Suggestions?
@@buckandslugreloaders9005 what kind of problem are you running into? Sometimes they are dirty inside and you can clean them with 0000 steel wool and you should be good, but it also depends on what roll finisher you have. There is 4 types, BN1, BN2, BN3, BN4 the first 2 are for fast Burning powder and they make a more thinner taperd finish, the second 2 are for slow burning powder and they make thicker and deeper finish like the one you have.
Please let me know.
Frank
@@frankmartino835I own the bn2 but it's not ideal for use on some shaped slugs. Would the gaep otp better?
Well, you just made my decision; 4 pin!
Preach!
Finding a new video from you is always a treat. Thanks for putting solid information out there in simple, clear, and direct language even I can understand. I'm a long time reloader who always stayed away from shotgun loads, but thanks to the info on your channel that has changed.
That’s outstanding! Welcome to the addiction! Feel free to drop a question. We’re here to help!
I bought a roll crimper from reloaders network on your advice and love it
Outstanding! Glad it worked out for ya!
thank you, this was nicely presented and helpful, best always, robert
Thank you for the positive feedback, Robert! Having young children makes it a challenge getting out.
Have you done any cramp ed plugs
Yes sir. There’s a couple slugs I fold crimp, particularly those with a rifle-like secant ogive.
@@buckandslugreloaders9005 what about like a Diablo slug
I just reloaded my first 410 000buck loads. I used a ballistic products roll crimper and attempted to roll crimp them. Theh did not look super pretty and the top of the crimp was more flat then roynded over. They fit in the gun ok. Well see if they print worth a damm at 15 yards or so. Wish me luck.
Well, how'd it go? With the number of different roll crimping tools out there it seems to be a matter of how basic to how pretty you want your roll crimps to be. Standard deviation differences excluding.
