Some wise guy in chat said that weak enemies giving at least one star point was a new thing added to the remake.
That is incorrect. It was in the original and Don Pianta is currently sending his boys to mod that guy.
They were almost assuredly mixing things up with Paper Mario 64, where you did not get any star points from enemies too low in level compared to you.
The original GameCube version of TTYD DID have the "at least 1 star point for fighting a battle at all" feature added in compared to 64. But it's obviously not new to the remake.
Same thing causes people to think Flurrie's Gale Force doesn't give star points. It always did, but PM64 equivalent screen nuke/remove enemies without fighting abilities did not give star points.

@@spugnoxngubcux9801the hammer is now able to show the flippable panels but even fully upgraded it won't flip them, still need to spin jump them like the og.
If vinny is ever concerned about 'farming' star pieces, a general rule of thumb is that each map screen only has one flip board to trigger with the hammer. The map area in front of TTYD is huge, but just has 1 piece in the direct south of the room. The very first area of the game has one by the stairs. Theres one in front of Frankly's door, one by the goomba behind Zess T's house, one by the petalburg gatekeeper koopa, etc. There is even one near the toad girl at the train. An easy one to miss is in the blue prison at the boggly tree.

This is actually incorrect. Rogueport square has two flip boards; one's behind Zess T's house.

@@EthVortexShield It's the same area. The fadeout is more likely so the camera doesn't clip through buildings.
I like when Vinny complains about a full inventory, goes to a shop, then doesn't sell or store any of them!

Honorable mention to super mario galaxy's mid-air spin, but that one mostly just made me dizzy rather than disintegrating my tailbone
When I was a kid I tried to do a wall jump and fell face first into the ground, I also tried to do the New Super Mario Bros. Wii spin jump a lot but that did not result in any accidents.

I played through this last week and I've been waiting to see how you reacted to the pianta vinny part LOL
The section where vinny debated whether a chat member was insane or not for their comment on his voice acting ruining the game dialogue really got me gaffin. The silence was palpable.
