You'd get my "most personable person teaching BJJ on youtube" award, don't get me wrong there are a bunch of nice dudes and I love them all but that just shows you how well you come across

    Thanks for the video.
How do you address a strong "pant grip" on your right leg?
Are you reaching down and breaking the grip first, then going for the knee cut?
or are you blasting through like normal, and this is strong enough to break their grip?
or you prefer other passing options.
That pant grip is soooo annoying

CharlesNgo there’s a few options. Of course try to break that grip off. Which can be some what impossible on particular people lol 😆.
I’m a big fan of making the guard player switch grips to transition off the pant grip and using that as my opening to pass.
You can also shin cut. Aka cut over you opponent’s leg on the same side as the pant grip. Forcing them to let go.

What would you do if they pinch their knees together/push you away with knee shield/ much bigger guys framing with a cross collar grip on your face? Sorry for the multi-part question. I really much like the knee cut but cannot pull that off even with your videos and Jon's, haha.

Bunny Azorth there’s different ways to trouble shoot this but it’s important the knee cut should be one of many of your different passing options. The same thing happened to me where I used to try and only rely on it but realistically you have to chain your passes together.
For example, maybe a folding pass or long step pass might be a better option on your opponent defending the way you mentioned

You should use two cameras to show both angles at the same time...Great tip, tho.
