I love it nice and light on the tooling every once in a while got to take the grinder to the striking tools to keep them right love watching ya vids sir
Holy cow Batman. You need tape when caulking next to stucco. Reason being, that he tape acts in two ways, fine lines and a buffer to smooth the tooling knife against the grainy stucco. Brutal
First intro to caulking was at the union facility. Nice, smooth surfaces on the caulking station. Beautiful. First job as an apprentice was control joints and seems on exposed aggregate concrete. Bleh.
I first started caulking using my finger, and let me tell you, im like a pro at it. Recently I got a pair of Albion tooling knives and it requires some practice to get good at it.
EVERTHING in all these American caulking videos is Brutal! Guys Wet tooling using Dish soap and finger fucking the caulking instead of tooling? You ever Wet tool Spit on finger or use dish soap and get caught by any inspector who isn’t clueless and you absolutely would be fired immediately where I come from .None of these caulking videos is anything even close to the standards that I had wmaintain and I am not exaggerating when I say that wet tooling or using your finger would be immediately dealt with ( YOURE FIRED!)

Honestly it's a bad job by a guy that should know better. Not only is there too much material left, but you can see the transitions and the finish looks all wavy. That's because 1 there's too much material and 2 he starts and stops in the middle of the joint as he tools.
Yessir that’s an absolute disaster where I come from Can’t believe that all these guys doing Horrible Sloppy Shite are making videos and chest thumping like it’s great meanwhile it’s Awful

Don’t know where you are with the No Standards on caulking but I worked for caulking companies for years and Never saw Anyone even at apprentice level caulk that Sloppy and think it’s okay. I don’t know about anyone else but caulkers ( real bonafide ones) are extremely picky and fussy about even the slightest little knife mark that has nothing to do with the seal. I am an amateur and getting ready to caulk for the first time. I thought backer rods are for filling cracks so that you only have to apply a thin layer of product. How would you use a backer rod when caulking around a door? Thanks for any advice and tips (:
@@bensosnowski1128 typically yes. Backer Rod is meant to be bond breaker, allowing the sealant to adhere to side walls of the joint and not the bottom. This allows the sealant to expand and contract with without releasing it from the sides, maintaining a tight seal. EIFS manufacturers all say you cannot put sealant on the finish coat, only to base coat.
Yes I agree
There is enough sealant around that door to do the whole house including the bathrooms
yeah this isn't a house this is a commercial building go sniff some paint thinner
