Enjoyed this a lot! I was slightly disappointed (but understand why) Chinatown Kid was not listed. Love that flick! And, due to my strong dislike of Ten Tigers of Kwangtung, I'd have ranked it lower. My collecting days have dwindled, but you reminded me how many great Venoms films I still haven't seen: Masked Avengers, Invinvible Shaolin, Magnificent Ruffians. I had considered myself knowledgeable. Thank you for this!

My favourite Venom film changes from time to time, but I reckon if I could only ever watch one, it would be Crippled Avengers.
Much respect to you man for finishing this, fist and palm salute!

Holy shit. Thought you were dead. Been waiting half a year for #3. Congrats on being alive and thanks for doing #s 3, 2 and 1 altogether and not making us wait another 6 months for #2.
Great list even if you put Wu Du at #4. No way it's behind Masked Avengers which copies so many beats from Five Deadly Venoms 3 years earlier. And definitely outranks Ruffiansr. I can swallow it being at #2 behind Crippled Avengers but too epic to *not* be #2 at least.

@MartialArtsTheater3000 Thanks Jason and the praise for your project is well deserved! The only reason why Two Champions isn't #1 on my list is because Kuo Chui wasnt in it. For me it's about as ironic as Lo Mang not being in my 3rd favorite Masked Avengers. But Invincible Shaolin is the 2nd movie I saw as a 6 year old kid after the original Venoms movie and had all of em in it. That confirmation for me was pure magic lol.

Brilliant video. Too much to say! I will challenge you slightly because I think the Venoms have comedy embedded in their style, regardless of Golden Harvest. Chiang Sheng and Philip Kwok are both great comic actors. Magnificent Ruffians is my #1, tied with Masked Avengers. But so many of these movies rule!

nº 1 - Invincible Shaolin (it takes me memories when i watch this in a theatre with my dad...so long dad, i will see you again). The plot is amazing ande the end is out of this world.

yeah, the thing is about the Brave Archer stuff (besides as a friend of mine is always pointing out that he never uses a bow) is that it is a movie version of a book and ... yeah, man ... there is a lot missing from the book in the movies.
I would love to see a good CGI version of the crazy guy from Huang's Island riding around on the shark with a stick stuck in its mouth so it can't eat him or other fish after the Western Venom, Ouyang Feng, dumps a bunch of poison in to the water and kills a bunch of fish which chums the waters for a bunch of sharks to show up.
But I digress. The movies are really for people that have read the Jin Yong aka Louis Cha books (Condor Heroes and at least have a general idea about Return of the Condor Heroes ... I think only book one of this part has been translated yet). They don't make a lot of sense if you haven't read the books. I mean where are the camels? And we miss out on all the Mongolian stuff ... if I recall correctly.
    -
Well, I had thought that Ninja in the Deadly Trap was a Chang Cheh film done in Thailand, but it is in fact a non-Shaw Brothers film directed by Philip Kwok for Yu Lung Film Productions. It looks like Chang Cheh saw a good thing and though he could do a better job pulling it off. And, I do agree that he did with 5 Elements Ninjas aka Super Ninja.
    -
I call "House of Traps" "House of Hats". I have no idea what they were thinking with those crazy hats. The movie is just sadistic. I'm not sure why Chang Cheh went this route. It really seemed unnecessary all around with the goriness. It is more of a horror slasher film or splatter punk then a martial arts film. Yeah, I would tend to put this even lower on the list. I do not find it enjoyable to watch.
    -
I have a lot of the Venoms films (and martial arts films in general), but I don't think I have a copy of the Daredevils. I don't think I've run into that one yet.
Other people may be in the same spot with this one and that is why there is so little feedback on it.
    -
I would put Kid with the Golden Arm higher, but I just love so many things about it. The characters are great. Sure there are alot of indoor sets, but that is fine with me. It does limit the jumping around and the jumping around is a bit limited by some of the characters based on the weapons they use, but there is all kind of cool stuff going on with each of the gang having different techniques. And the Paladin character is such a contrast to the actual hero of the movie.
    -
So I hear a lot about "kung fu" film during the Five Deadly Venoms.
Five Deadly Venoms is a martial arts film and it is a Wuxia film, but I'm not sure how it is a "kung fu" film. Although there are training sequences, I don't think any of them are Buddhist and the Venom Clan didn't study at Shaolin Temple. Now I know people will argue with me about the use of the term, but styles like Hung Gar and Wing Chun have origins have relation to Shaolin - where say Baguazhang and related to Daoism/Taoism and the temples in the Wu Dang/Tu Tang mountains. The Venoms are neither.
Yeah, I know, something else to debate.
    Poison Clan Rocks the WORLD!
    -
Oh, wow. Yeah, I would put Magnificent Ruffians further down the list for sure. I think that is up there for you because of nostalgia. I have to admit why I would put Kid with the Golden Arm higher.
    -
I'm curious why Chinatown Kid isn't on the list. It seems to meet your criteria for a Venoms film. You seems to set the bar at 3 of the Venoms being in the film. Which would take say Fight of the Supers off the list which only has 2 of them.
    -
Yeah, horror aspects of Masked Avengers and Crippled Avengers is why I would put them down further on the list. Just not as enjoyable to me as some of the other films.
