That's exactly how Rei Kawakubo (the designer) wanted to see how other people will see her creations. Her primary goal is not to create garments that people see as merely beautiful or wearable but to provoke thought and emotion. She wants people to question the norms of fashion and beauty, creating a dialogue about identity, form, and aesthetics.

It's never a good sign when even the models you've hired look embarrassed to be wearing your designs.
It's a bunch of meaningless and poorly sewn rags. It's very disappointing, this is the source of inspiration for Tom Browne and John Galliano.
