Honestly a BL doesn’t need an NC scene. I just finished Vice Versa & I absolutely love it. There were about 3 to 4 kiss scenes and it the whole story was wholesome. Check Out the series is a perfect example of why NC scenes do not show the quality of the show.
Wasn't too impressed with Check Out...the acting wasn't great..the storyline was so/so... Does there really need to be a 25plus on ONly Fans???? The actors should say no.but again..$$$$$$ and pressure to be relevant...
@@itsnatemate7697 not every fan are like you 70 % of bl fans watch bl for only nc scene and u don't even want to argue with those fans cus they are delusional and scary
Pan and Nott's story also had me in such a strong chokehold, Seng completely blew me out of the water with his acting too. Like, I knew he could throw himself into a role from what we saw in SCOY, but this was sooo different and intense in such a different way. The shade the series throws at delulu fans while also portraying the complexities of being queer in the very strong world of BL ships is fascinating. They're both into men, play gay characters, are showered with praise and money for fanservicing as a gay couple, yet the homophobic comments on social media and that scene when they go back to his hometown shows that it's still not accepted or potentially even safe for them to be an out and open couple. I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on the rest of the stories in this show, please make that a series! I'm waiting till this 2nd one is finished to binge it bc tbh the cast didn't really entice me and I needed a mental break after Pan and Nott's journey. And it looks like I'll have to revisit your video on the Perth Saint issue before watching it, bc they're pulling a lot of inspiration from that situation.
I loved your analysis. It’s so upsetting that actors have to go through these things in hopes of succeeding in the industry. It’s so obvious that bl producers prey on young boys so they can groom and easily exploit them. I also loved that this show calls out how complicit fans and social media are in the detriment of our favorite actors. It’s scary how fast fandoms and narratives can change. I understand why actors can become depressed so easily. They can never please everyone on social media. Everything is a cycle. Bl producers analyze how fans and social media react to certain things so they can give us what we want to put more money and their pockets. That’s why shipping, fan service, and NC scenes are so popular now cause that’s what goes viral and gets all the positive attention from fans. I hope you’re able to do an analysis on the 3 remaining stories. I hope more people will watch this show. These are very important topics we need to have in the bl fandom ❤
God I literally was just talking to my friends about how there’s been a change in bl and the amount of nc scenes. You can especially see it with Between Us and how the couple even have a uncut version compared to the original UWMA series. Its like you can read my mind.
Honestly, this show really made me question the bl industry and all the stuff that might go on behind the scenes. I have only seen the first five episodes until now, but it has already become a strong competitor of being my favorite bl of this year. Although I would say it's more than "just" a bl... I think it calls out (rightfully) the bl industry and its fans... One of the things that impressed me the most was Seng's acting, he was just incredible! I really felt for his character and am 100% sure this exploitation happens to more actors in the real world than we would think. Thank you for this great video! I really feel like more bl fans should watch this show, because it might make them rethink about things like "fan service" and "shipping".
I’ve been plannning to watch this series and OH.MY.GOD. I literally CRIED just at you briefly telling the plot, this show is really interesting and fucking sad. It really has me thinking what my favorites have gone through and wondering if they’ve gone through similar situations :((
This is an important series, I'm glad it's making people question the ethics of the industry behind the scenes. Media like this gives us awareness and makes us demand better for actors, and anyone who is considered a junior to a senior. As a gay man, I love to see my love represented on screen, it's the only love I can relate to. I love series like manner of death that allows the main couple to be gay but also has a rich plotline. Diverse, LGBT stories are important, but simultaneously, that importance is not an excuse to push actors and writers over boundaries.
Never doubt, you are good at what you do. I'm new to BL but, well, my age puts me well outside the demographic. That being said, there are several issues in series that I find more than troubling. I won't list them, I'm sure you know what they are. I thank you for your mature, unbiased, straightforward approach to difficult subjects.
This is an important subject to touch upon. It's so sad, what actors have to go through sometimes; writers, managers, producers, directors etc abusing their power, making them do something they really don't want, and wanting them to be a certain way(just like it can be in the music industry sometimes, where certain people have specific demands to how you are gonna look and sound for you to work together or take most of the rights/money for themselves etc.) and how some fans can really go too far(with any kind of celebrity really)and having to do certain things to be popular/stay relevant or it can be hard sometimes, that you can't please everyone and things can change so fast.
I hope this series does well and gets people also fans talking. But I have a feeling, it will get a second season and the important subjects will be forgotten (looking at you, Call It What You Want) I didn’t know this existed till now. I’ve seen everything that’s happening in the show, in real life (especially, in relation to KinnPorsche) I’ve researched actors, companies, writers etc. the whole lot, since I’ve been in the fandom and I’m not happy about any of it, one bit. To the companies and writers, do better. If you want viewers and fans. To the fans, go outside and touch grass. What you see on screen, isn’t happening in real life. I can guarantee you that and if two actors are together, it’s none of your business. If you want to support them, leave them alone. To the actors, remember what’s important: you. I know it’s a different culture but don’t put yourself through stuff like fanservice, if you don’t feel comfortable. It’s not worth your time. Don’t come into the BL industry or watch BL. If any of you, can’t be normal.
I only discovered bl's about 18 months ago and have watched everyone I can find. I love the Thai bl's but sometimes I'm frustrated by them because the reality that these actors are in is just ridiculous! Between all the scandals between management, studios and crazy fans these guys go through Hell. War of Y is great I'm waiting for episode 12 to air. I've noticed the NC scenes have increased and Check Out was one of the most intense so far but, and it may be because I'm a middle aged gay man, there have been a couple bl's that had no NC scenes and were really great. La Cuisine is definitely in my top 3 bl's I've seen this year and the main couple had a small kiss and one of the side couples had a more intense kiss but that was the last episode and there was no skin shown. I don't need NC scenes to enjoy any series/movie but if it's done well and it doesn't seem forced I'm fine with it. Most bl actors are straight and they understand that they are just playing a role. I saw part of a reaction video from the leads in Love In The Air where they were talking about them improvising a NC scene. They talked about how their characters were "crazy in love" at that point so they had to show that and they did! These actors don't get the credit they deserve because a lot of them are going to college and working and the others have already graduated with some impressive degrees. I'm a little off topic but my point is if these guys have the support they need and take this as just a job and ignore the hate from wherever it comes from they can open up a bit more like KinnPorche, Check Out, War of Y and some others but if they aren't comfortable then they ruin the whole series and that's not entirely all their fault.
I just watched WoY and am deeply impressed not only by the acting of the actors, but also by the story. Your review confirms that everything shown is not that far removed from the real conditions. It was hard to bear how different people in the “industry” hurt each other (also consciously). The role of the fans (and therefore my own) in all of these events also makes me very thoughtful. It's just a shame that the individual stories always have happy endings. Well, the plot is intense enough that you almost need a happy ending, but I doubt whether these stories would actually end like that in RL. (and the second story Bew/Gus is actually even more intense)
I keep seeing comments in shorts posted of actors together outside the series. So many people ask if they are really in a relationship. When I have time, I remark that if there is a camera, assume they are putting on a show. I think it’s better to err on the side of caution than yo believe everything posted. And honestly, idc if they are really dating. If the show is good, I’m happy. If they post extra stuff being silly and makes me laugh? That’s awesome. It I never need to know or believe they are real couples.
I do not know how I missed this video as I have been dying for someone to talk about this show. Great analysis as usual. I loved it even though it was so hard and ugly. What an exposure. I loved Pan and Nott's story. The acting was excellent. It was so hard watching the disintegration of Pan. And worse was he had the gorgeous, sweet Nott but he couldn't see it for the stardom and expectations. The show was brutal in its depictions of the industry and the fans. I, personally, loathe the 'shipping' culture and fan service. It seems to be all toxic. And I am sure it goes way further than just "harassment". What we saw from Pan's manager was akin to pimping. Her "calls" were a way for her to leave the room and him alone with whatever predator is there. This is the whole history of women pretty much but I can see the evolution in the BL industry. The commodification of these boys and young men is awful and seems to be more about keeping them in a box as a product than nurturing and elevating talent. It has taken me a while to realise that the fans are also guilty of this and that social media is savage. It took me a while to realise just what was going on and that it was a construct of the industry, not just fans gossiping on Twitter. I still find it hard to believe. This show and Lovely Writer (damn I loved that show) really revealed so much, especially to me, personally, as I had no clue it was all so fake but also that these actors could be straight! I just assumed everyone was gay lol. Please do the other stories from this show. What a revelation. Thank you for your thoughtful and non-hysterical analysis. 😊🙏
Writing this in 2024, it's so sad to see that some of these things did actually happen to Seng. His ship with Billy ended and he still gets so much hate on his social media accounts whenever he makes a new post.
True, those haters find their happiness by writing hate, harassment comments in every post of Seng. They don't know how to limit our boundary as a fan and also they accused him as a criminal, attention seeker, queer baiting and so on. the only reason they hate him is because he dated with actress Freen. They think that actor who play as a gay character must be gay real in real world and once they found out actor dating with girl then they start bashing, talking like he betray to his co-star.I can't understand to that people.
I don't necessarily think that p'koon wants to maintain pan's 'purity' or 'innocence' (though she does advice him to keep a sweet look), because every time she says something against them filming nc scenes, it's because pan is giving her the chin touching gesture (it even happens with the sound cue). it happened when they were reading the script and also when they were shooting that first nc scene. he can't possibly voice his own opinions, because as you said it he wants to please Everyone. that's why when people on the set are talking, they say that pan is a very talented actor and that he'll do anything, but his manager p'koon is very difficult to work with. she has to become the bad guy and be the voice of pan, though not entirely successfully
Honest Review of the Bl series War Y and all of the serious Problems and Issues are unfortunately still happening not Just the BL Industry but the entertainment industry in General TV Movies and Music
Been concentrating on watching your review and then suddenly baby Earth shows up. That's where my line is. Because I have a breakdown right after his video shows up on my screen. And Idk how many times I broke down during Pan's se*ual harassment scenes because it totally reminded me of baby Earth's case.
Please please talk about the other stories. I recently watched this series and the events going on in the industry rn relay so much and it’s so sad. I would love to see someone talk about the rest of the stories
I started by watching Korean BL and noticed that the viewer is lucky if you get a kiss scene in the 9th or 10 episode and that was fun because it builds the anticipation, then I found Thai BL and it was like whoa whoa is this even legal to be watching😂 then I watched some Chinese BL and found out that you shouldn't even make a comment because you could get attacked for liking or not liking, social media definitely makes it all toxic! I just want there to be Love in the world, every kind of Love✨💚✨❤️✨💜✨💙✨💖🤟🥰
Revisiting your video now that War of Y has finished. This great analysis. I really hope you do analysis videos for the other stories in the series, as well.
Thank you for making this video. We appreciate your time, effort and care. I agree 100% wrong is wrong it doesn't matter the language. Some thoughts: *No one should do anything they are uncomfortable doing but as an industry evolves we move away from the single kiss in Love Sick (2014) to KinnPorsche (2022). Sex sells... whether it's Coke or romance novels or BLs. Does this put pressure on people involved? Yes. An author who doesn't want to write sex scenes shouldn't feel forced to do so but the consequence is the readers who want that get fed elsewhere. It's a fact in every business. Harsh and wrong but real. (I'm not suggesting actors should tolerate sexual harassment or dangerous activities!!!!!) Part of the issue is Thai laws & the definitions of sexual harassment. (Vertical abuses vs horizontal = peer > in the KP issues one issue raised was if the writers were seen higher than the actors on the chain of command or as peers. Less protection if peer. Also education in terms of identifying abuse because as it's happening you might think to yourself you must be misunderstanding something and this can't be happening > having people versed in this knowledge might be helpful. *Movies/TV shows/books are produced to make money. These are usually not done by charitable organizations. So they do their research and see what will give them the best return on their investments. I invite folks when they see a scene they might label as "queer baiting" > I'd like you to consider weather ballooning. Is the production house taking the temperature of the audience to see if they've crossed a line, offended, harmed their audience base. I'd encourage you when you see this > write to the company, tweet, email whatever let them know you support a full and real look at relationships/people who are LGBTQIA+. Your comments can push them to go a bit further. *Entertainment Industries globally are notorious for abusing actors & actresses. The #MeToo movement shred light on a problems eons old. I don't know how people involved can better protect themselves > shining a light can help but only to a certain extent and possibly more understanding of what constitutes abuse. ((Not to defend but to add realism in 2018 or 2017 a law was passed making it illegal to grab someone and kiss them. Let that sink in. While in Thailand I was in a couple of situations where someone thought it was okay to touch me.... again wrong is wrong doesn't matter the language spoken but understanding where the entire country is helps us see it's not just the BL industry.)) Sorry for the long ramble. Many hugs, Z. Allora
This entire analysis is top notch. I hope you're getting paid for it 😂 Seriously, your content is very good. I bumped into your video randomly, but I'm definitely staying for more ❤️
A tale of thousand stars doesn't have any nc scene or a heavy 18+ but it's actually a really great Bl I have watched...I feel actors shouldn't be forced to do this or pressurized....a drama or movie can go very well without having 18+ content doesn't matter straight or lgbt...
This series looks amazing, and I'm definitely going to watch it...but just the information you give about it already has me worried for my favorite actors. I hate to think they might have gone through stuff similar to what these characters do. :(
War of y and lovely writer was very eye opening to what really takes place , the thought that all this happens is disgusting these guys should never have to put up with this kind of behaviour I hate to see gay people ridiculed, abused or made to feel any less of a person just because of narrow minded people or abusive people it makes my skin crawl that in this day and age they still have to fight for what should be a given right .😡😡 Love your videos. You have a very soothing voice 😁😁
I was very very impressed by those 5 eps. Definitely in my top 3 for this year (sorry bad buddy you are dropping to 4th place now 😅). The acting and the raw themes they showcased were brilliant. I might say something contravertial but I preferred this to lovely writer. One of the best aspects from this story is the psychology and we are given enough time with the characters to understand their actions and what they are going through. However I am finding that this is what is lacking with the second story. Yes the themes are there but I needed more time with the individual characters to explain actions eg why does that person drink and smoke so much? But I won't comment further on the second story, that is for another time😁.
This is seriously some heavy shit.............Watching Lovely Writer when it aired made me think about the BL industry and its perverse control over actors, musicians, etc. Then the Barcode horror was revealed:accusations of the writers teaching him how to give backrubs and Jeff in one interview telling Barcode he doesn't have to answer interviewer's questions... Kinda think as a fan I am part of the problem?????
Love you so much pun you amazing gorgeous beautiful baby please don’t cry you made me cry a lot love you amazing acter seng deserved many awards for awesome work ❤❤❤
Added thought, all these fan events are confusing to new views. I really thought Mew/Gulf were a couple for a while. How exhausting for them and other actors. They could be doing real work in the time they waste.
The NC scenes in 4 Minutes caught me by surprise. Way more graphic than I was prepared for. If fans want skin, they should get porn. Would like to see WOY.
Wow! I had no idea about check out only fans. That’s …um…wild. I’m totally not interested. Not being sarcastic; I’m really not interested. I keep thinking it’s inappropriate??? Idk the word but 😾
I don't think it even occurred to me what really goes into making an NC scene. You know, I love it just as much as the other girls do. But are we forcing these actors to basically perform softcore for our enjoyment? BL, like many industries, prizes youth and beauty; are we forcing young 20 somethings to think that this is what you have to do? The answer is HELL NO!!
war of y really said "we're exposing the thai bl industry" and im here for it

At least there are productions like this to show these problems......to open the eyes of the fans...
Revisiting your video now that War of Y has finished. This great analysis. I really hope you do analysis videos for the other stories in the series, as well.
Thank you for making this video. We appreciate your time, effort and care.
I agree 100% wrong is wrong it doesn't matter the language.
Some thoughts:
*No one should do anything they are uncomfortable doing but as an industry evolves we move away from the single kiss in Love Sick (2014) to KinnPorsche (2022).
(I'm not suggesting actors should tolerate sexual harassment or dangerous activities!!!!!)
Part of the issue is Thai laws & the definitions of sexual harassment.
While in Thailand I was in a couple of situations where someone thought it was okay to touch me.... again wrong is wrong doesn't matter the language spoken but understanding where the entire country is helps us see it's not just the BL industry.))
Sorry for the long ramble.
An excellant analysis as usual. Keep up the great work.
This series looks amazing, and I'm definitely going to watch it...but just the information you give about it already has me worried for my favorite actors. I hate to think they might have gone through stuff similar to what these characters do. :(
War of y and lovely writer was very eye opening to what really takes place , the thought that all this happens is disgusting these guys should never have to put up with this kind of behaviour I hate to see gay people ridiculed, abused or made to feel any less of a person just because of narrow minded people or abusive people it makes my skin crawl that in this day and age they still have to fight for what should be a given right .😡😡
Love your videos. You have a very soothing voice 😁😁
I love your account soo much it’s so real !
I truly enjoy your analysis, jI; m definitely gonna get into this series
It's crazy you say that about Check out because I thought they were actually naked because they left very little uncovered already on the TV version.
Love the video! Your voice and your opinion about it. I wonder if you will talk about the other couples/stories as well in video’s ☺️
I love Billy and Seng, and I loved the series ❤❤❤❤
Love you so much pun you amazing gorgeous beautiful baby please don’t cry you made me cry a lot love you amazing acter seng deserved many awards for awesome work ❤❤❤
would love to see the other stories!
Please do the other parts.
Where can i watch it not on UA-cam channel
what does NC mean? i know it something related to s3x but what does it actually stands for?
It stands for “no children.”
Where can War of Y be watched from the United States?
I've just watched three of your videos and I'm finding your analysis very interesting.
So you can either watch it illegally on a site like Dramacool, or you can pay for a membership to AISPLAY's UA-cam channel.
@@moonconsort thanks 👍🏻
i just wish my subtitles didn't mess up before i was able to finish the series, i was really loving it
