She was born 27 mars 2004. So she is 9.
She is plainly the best. She affects the listener like no other,
Hi. She was 9 when she was in this contest. She taught herself to sing and developed the vibrato in her voice, by watching classical singers on you tube. She had actually had a cold/ chest infection the week before this performance, so hadn't been able to rehearse as intended.

And singing in Latin; the piece is the version of "Ave Maria" by Bach/Gounod. She got her breath control because she was a champion cross-country runner.
She missed the Olympics as a middle distance runner owing to the plague.

Yep, you and the rest of the world get chills over this young lady. The technical term for that wavering in her voice is called vibrato. She is 9 years old here and self taught watching UA-cam videos of famous opera singers. No lessons at this point in her career.

She speaks Dutch, Africaans, and English, but she sings in a load of other languages too. Italian, Latin, French, German, Swedish. Whatever the song and the situation require. She applies herself to learn the lyrics.
Her older brother, Fincent, gets the pronunciation for her
I do believe she is a genius, with her ability at a young age to learn and sing in several languages and to add her own style to songs. Not many like her
She just graduated from high school as valedictorian.

Loved your shocked expression, but her fans are used to it and have been for the past nine years. Amira is 18 now. You might like O Sole Mio, one with Ben Heijnen and another with Patrizio Buanne; both excellent. I'll Walk With God would also be a good choice.

Amira was 9 or 10 years old. She taught herself to sing by watching You Tube clips, she never had lessons. The show is called Holland Got Talent and the language spoken in Holland is Dutch, not Russian. Your reaction was amazing. Thank you.

She practiced with the TV for two years before her mother would let her compete.
She got her lungs at that age as a winning distance runner.

When she sang this she was 9 years old. She had no professional training up to this time. The next spring she performed before an audience of 10,000 and got a standing ovation. She'd had a week of training up to that time. She is now 18 and among the top ranked sopranos in the world. She just finished high school and plans to do a world tour this year. You might enjoy watching this one and she has done many great performances.
