It's sad these guys didn't work out. But what did you expect? There were only one Roger and Gene. Still, it's nice that they got far enough to do this...
I've been binging these worst movies videos with Siskel, Ebert, etc. and it seems Robin Williams shows up every single year. It's amazing how many good movies and how many bad movies he is in. It's like he refuses the middle ground.
Nah, he has tons of mediocre movies out there. We just don't remember them because they weren't worth talking about as with most mediocre films. They are just forgotten over time.
You can't even be sure from their exchanges that they each saw all the movies the other guy chose. I love Phillips and Scott in print, but there wasn't much substance to their discussions on this show.
Well S&E will always be the best, but I actually thought they made for a good duo. Much better than the "Two Bens", Ben Lyons and Ben Mankowitz. They just didn't gel IMO.
At the 13:03 minute mark, This scene is so shocking and disturbing as we see actor Nicolas Cage was screaming at actress Rose Byrne over the fact that she doesn't want to go to the caves because it was too dangerous to go there. That caused Cage to get really, really, really angry as he screaming, "The caves won't save us, Nothing can." They shown the same scene when Ben Lyons and Ben Mankiewicz were the hosts the show. I noticed that Mankiewicz had to offer an apology to the viewers by showing Nicolas Cage's screaming rant at actress Rose Byrne. You can recall Roger Ebert was the only movie critic who liked the movie as he said "among the best science-fiction films I've seen." I really didn't like it when this was made.
My opinion Transformers: Revenge of the fallen Twilight Sega: New Moon Bride Wars Against the Dark New in Town The Ugly Truth Year One Obsessed The Time Traveler's Wife The Devil's Tomb Crossing Over Pink Panther 2 Paul Blart: Mall Cop Planet 51 Street Fighter: The Legend of Chum-Li
Ope.... Thanks to Tony's reference, I just thought of a 4th to go into my "Most Overrated Movies of All Time" category... Million Dollar Baby, Whiplash, Brokeback Mountain, and now... The Blindside. Awful movie with an unbearable performance by Bullock. So stupid and manufactured. God that was bad.
How many critical clichés do these guys spout off in 20 mins? Every other line out of their mouths is either a dusty old critic's quip or a bad pun/one-liner. You can't beat Siskel and Ebert. I'll even take Roeper over these poor stand-ins. No wonder why they never became household names.
Siskel & Ebert were the masters of short form reviews. I loved their ability to summarize a film’s plot and characters early on in a review. Whenever I’ve had to do something similar for a university course I’ll binge a bunch of S&E reviews of films I know well before heading to write whatever summary I had to produce. Always got really good marks and comments in the margin saying things like “great summary! Very concise!” Thanks S&E!
"Couples Retreat" was comedic toilet paper but "Law Abiding Citizen" was so bad it's good. I really enjoyed it.
Last Worst of Year show for this format.
I enjoyed 17 again.
It's sad these guys didn't work out. But what did you expect? There were only one Roger and Gene. Still, it's nice that they got far enough to do this...
I thought they were the 2 best hosts after Ebert and Roeper ended.
Cool episode.

Comedies need come back it’s really depressing
I hope to one day find the episode where Philips and Roeper review The Bank Job

These guys do nothing for me:(My loyalties with S&E:)
Outta respect, they are not seated in a balcony:)
They had good banter. Obviously can't compete with S&E but they did good for what they had. Much faster paced but their chemistry was great.

Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs isn't worst flim in my opinion I enjoy it when I was a 9 year old child since 2010
2009 was one of the worst years for movies, Watchmen doesn’t belong on this list
2009: the dark age of cinema.
Completely disagree! & 2022 was WAY WAY worse I mean god last year was awful..
2009 was a great year for cinema? What
@@Foxy888h32 For Sure!
Watchmen is an awful, AWFUL movie
American Beauty wasn't overrated. It is very good.

Golf Ball In The Groin is no Football In The Groin. Great film.

Transformers: Revenge of the fallen
Twilight Sega: New Moon
Bride Wars
Against the Dark
New in Town
The Ugly Truth
Year One
Obsessed
The Time Traveler's Wife
The Devil's Tomb
Crossing Over
Pink Panther 2
Paul Blart: Mall Cop
Planet 51
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chum-Li
I was no longer watching the program after Roger and Richard left
Same
Same.
At first I wasn’t a Roper fan but now I find myself looking for his opinions whenever I end up on tomatoes.

As gorgeous and adorable as Aniston is, she sure has made some shit movies. Not all of them, but a lot of them.
Transformers 2 was amazing
I like Away We Go and Law Abiding Citizen.
Steve was better than the horrific white saviour complex of a film blind side.
American Beauty's awful sequel was Revolutionary Road.
Ordinary guy? Law Abiding Citizen review..They have an entire scene explaining he's a CIA planner? Tf he talking about.
I also liked Away we go.
I thought Love Happens was very good. This should not be on the year's worst list. Phillips and Scott were wrong here.
I *HATED* Miss March
Law Abiding Citizen was good
Where's is dragonball evolution that's is worst movie 2009 😑

These 2 do not have chemistry together and there really is no in depth in their reasoning of not liking a lot of the films - Their jokes are cringe
