The Christian band from the 80s... Petra?
Wow YOU ARE GOOD
@@OldSkuleNerd My brother loved Petra, but I couldn't stand John Schlitts voice
@@darthshrek1 yeah that Whiny sound saw them at Astroworld Houston for beyond Belief tour
I saw Petra live in 1988 - Still got one of their albums on vinyl... (This means war). They were playing at some Christian Festival in Germany.
Hm. I was gonna say Stryper. But Petra is a thing too lol.
"Und wenn des Papstes Lende steht, dann bitten wir zum STOSSGEBET !" - Often said before the song started live by Attila Dorn :D
Powewolf 2018 Oberhausen- my last live Show I've been to - an absolut blast!
And yes Falk (organist) on stage is the energizer bunny and sooo funny XD
By the way - Stoßgebet - like always I love the dubble meanings XDD just slightly more subtil than resurection by errection =D
There‘s also a rock version of this song by „Eisbrecher“. Really worth watching as well.
If you're looking for material. Check out the Video from Summer Breeze 2018 on the WDR Rockpalast channel. It is a full set and the audio is amazing. I have been there in a crowd of 40k people. It was mazing 😁
Symphonies and Operas are the Metal Shows of ages past...
Man, I missed the last time Powerwolf went on their last tour.
Do I regret that now, it has been so long since I've been to a concert now.
I won't make that mistake again. I won't miss their music next time.
Also, there better be some hot nuns there, :).
I was able to go see them when they toured with Amaranthe as support. Double hit. They put up a nice show as well. Not that much with costumes and decoration. But a lot of energy and good crowd connections because of the 3 singers.
And I really admired the audience that day who was chanting both bands names. Never saw so much appreciation for the support band. Really cool!
Stossgebet could be translated like Knockprayer. It means a very quick prayer in moments of distress. Nice reaction❤
Stossgebet can also be a common usage for sex in original german. The title is a joke that means "sex pray"
@@pedrobonfioliborges6910 bullshit, never heard that.
@@HellBrYnger search about that, tho
@@HellBrYngerjust cause you’ve never heard of it doesn’t mean it’s not true
@@HellBrYngerliterally the whole song is about sex, it’s used as a Metapher here
i`ve been in 2019 in Moscow on concert , that was Fire
I like your voice seriously man
Great live band, especially if you can see them in Germany. It's like you're at a soccer match.
Not to downplay the theatrics at all but Attila has the best voice in metal today.
Satire?
Not at all, he's a trained opera singer. I love his voice
@@billpeters9999 I must be thinking of someone else then. The Attila I heard of is like rap metal
@@jasonscreationsunlimited4161 Attila Dorn Powerwolfs singer
@@billpeters9999 ah. This makes sense now. I don't know the names of the members. The band Atilla is all I was exposed too by that name.
That's why I asked if it was satire up front. Go sample that group, & within 5 seconds you'll understand why I said satire🤣
You should get into the Latin lyrics of this song, they are a little less... "churchy", yet (at least with double meanings in the German language) absolutely fitting.
Tell your daughters not to look up the English translation of it. 😏
Religious band from the '80s? (thread)
Stryper?
The Christian band would be Stryper
80's christian band? must be Stryper
