Awesome video, John! You deserve so much credit for elevating the status of velomobiles and bents in general around the world with the videos you and Maggie produce. This vid was a great opportunity for me to see so many of my BHPC pals in action and doing what they do so well. My best to all and keep the GCN collaborations coming!!
This was great! Especially the racing footage. You really got a sense of the speed the riders were doing. Incredible stuff and looked like loads of fun. I have my issues with GCN but mad respect to Hank. He's the real deal. Thanks for the video!
This is a treat I think, because there are so few showing the side by side racing. It really creates a relative feeling of the speed. Love those sweeping turns. Great!
When I opened this video, I thought that blue and white Milan SL was John's as I did not pay attention to who posted this. I really like the looks of the Snoek, Pike for us in the USA, with the mirror cones as a part of the body. Looks like everyone had fun riding. Glad to see Hank had fun riding the low bent and the Quattro.
Yes, that's exactly why UCI changed the rules in 1934 and effectively banned recumbents from UCI sanctioned competition. This was done by changing the definition of "bicycle" such that a recumbent could never satisfy their definition. As a result the hour record that was set in 1932 on a recumbent and in fact all records and victories were vacated.
How did the Trisled go? I've always wondered how the Aussie trikes would fare over there. There's every chance that I have a few spills featuring these on my channel. They are a pretty common trike in the races over here and are probably 1 of the top 3 performing trikes. Great seeing Hank out there pedaling around.
I am so glad GCN finally recognises the worthyness of the BHPC. The only fear i have is that now that all these superathletes see that they were sitting on the wrong machines they will give us a run for our lives. 400W average - bloody hell, let's keep the alpha seven a secret ;).
Yeah brilliant I must get one! Wonder if anyone's got a crash damaged one I could buy and repair as I'm a vehicle crash repairer and composite specialist I think it would be right up my street.thanks very informative and well produced vid.
Hi John. Great video again. I wishes that we had a club like the BHPC in my area with so many types of HPV's - very inspirering. I was just wondering what kind of powermeter you are using and in your Milan and if you have trouble with dropout when logging the data? I have a Milan SL mk2 and when mounted my Garmin below the airintake on the BM hood it has a fair bit of dropout's from my Vector 3 pedals. Cheers :=)
So, the grey bike was doing 31.77 mph average with an average output of 274 watts. Clearly a faired recumbent ebike doesn't need to be a type-II to reach type-II speed limits.

Thanks so much Gary, I'm so looking forward to seeing you again in person when we can and catching up over a couple of cold beers.
At this rate John, I think Hank is set to become a customer of yours sooner or later !
Or a rival. But either one sounds fun
Awesome! Everyone was having such a fun!
I saw the GCN's video earlier and I was looking for you. I'm glad you were there.
The sheer diversity of riders and machines is so wonderful to see!

Awesome John! Thanks again for popularizing our favorite vehicles :-)
When is Hank and Mannon going to race Milans against each other and at this venue? C’mon, make it happen!

Fantastic video. Also nice to see Hank racing the recumbents.
I really want to race my green QV. Or my Chamsin.
Yet again an absolutely splendid movie John!

One of your best videos
Nick Heathman was blisteringly fast
Glad to see another velo-vid!
That’s a great video John, many thanks
Great video as always team, and very informative too, well done
Nice meeting you at Greenwich today. We chatted while your son was playing in the play centre.
John, can you do a review on that Trisled? I've always liked the look of those.
Hi John, thanks for the really entertaining video - very enjoyable.
Beautiful cycles and a lovely bunch of people. What a lovely day it must have been :)
Great video as always!
That was fun! Thank you!
Dont have a velomobile or a recumbent but I just love your videos, always fun to watch and loaded with fun, interesting people.
Thanks 👍
Bloody loved 🥰 it!
Wow, you can tell by Hank's pallid complexion in the end he nearly killed himself trying to win in that Quattro.
Which is like drag racing in a minivan. Lol.
Hello dear friend those Villa Mobile has pretty cools colors 😊
You should invite Hank out on one of your Tour / Audax.
Geez, all you folks are strong!!! Hearing the Wattage outputs, everyone would do great in hour record attempts with optimized vehicles.

3rd behind the alpha 7
That is a really good looking trike.
@@casualguy393 Agreed!
John , do you guys have website or calendar as I would like to attend the meetings/ races please

Hi John, what is the orange teardrop shaped velomobile seen here at 13:18? That thing looks EPIC!!!!
That's by Trisled, they are used in 24hr team races in Australia.
Trisled Aquilla.
Great video John!!
Spending a day with Barney seems like fun. I wonder if the local HPV club here have someone similar.
I'm sure they do.
@@velo-ads4206 I found out a while back, the local HPV club hasn't existed for quite a while and needs a reboot...
Brilliant! Loved it!
That does look good fun
love these videos!
GCN should ride a bent 100 km with his mates on the road for a better test.
Great video. What I want to know is the Jersey @ 17:00, does it have rear pockets (I hope not) and where can I get one?

In 1 way I would love to see the strong bucks at the HPC events, but in another way I am not sure my 3.4w/kg could handle the blow to my ego.
We have been cycling with an advantage for too long. Anything to get real bikes back in the public eye, and more importantly, on the local shelves.
Thats beautiful the milan

Great video!
On which vehicle Hang was faster?
The lowracer or the quttro?
The quattrovelo
oh lee bought a snoek?

I use a Wahoo element roam with garmin vector 3, no issues.
What make /model is the white frame none enclosed recumbent with the smaller front wheel?
Rapto bike probably
What would 400W get you in a snoek??

yeah you only need to pedal arround 50 watts with pedal assist to reach those speeds.
Insanity. (they can consume 250Watts but there are some losses.)
