Happy Friday, everyone! My fave part is 5:45 lol, what about you? * sesame oil with head tilt * Btw at 12:15 I specifically meant that some people like their galbi *really* sweet (all galbi is marinated with sugar). I personally like my galbi not too sweet. What's your fave place to get galbi? ▼▼▼▼▼ Today's mission is to try Korean food from Trader Joe's, including K-BBQ! What are the options? Do the items taste authentically Korean? Watch the video for the market tour and full food review :) Btw Mommy Oh said she saw Savory Korean Pancakes at TJ's before, but we didn't see it in our recent trip. Maybe you might get lucky though!
your words about kimchi inspires me haha because I've tried kimchi from Walmart and it didn't taste right so I spit it out and now your words really got me thinking I should keep trying different kimchi because I need to find the right one I like.
Hi Miss Mina, I'm so exciting to see you again especially you Mommy Oh! Like always, you both look lovely together and I hope you're safe out there too.
Here in L.A. we have the Vegetable Pancakes (Pajeon) that are really delicious. Also, that Barley Tea was the bane of my existence as a kid growing up in America. LOL! I wanted Coca Cola and all we had was Barley Tea in the fridge that looked like a pitcher of pee.
I agree. The only kimchi I like is from Korean market called Apple Tree. I tried it from Costco but it was just a huge bottle of no flavor cabbage yuk! The right kimchi is important.
The Trader Joe’s near me sells a scallion jeon, and it’s pretty legit, when pan fried, according to a Korean buddy of mine! I don’t know if you couldn’t find it or not, but I look for it every time.
Topic ides: If you have not already done one can you please do a video on Kimchi. Taste vs fermentation, what to look for in stores. I see lots of Kimchi when I go to H-Mart and I never know what to get
Highly recommend Jongak’s (brand logo is red roof over “Jongak”)napa cabbage kimchi, should be available at Hmarts nationwide. I’m Korean and it’s our go-to for store-bought kimchi.
Mina, thank you so much for making this video. As a fellow Korean-American, I think its soooo important for correct representation of authentic foods in the United States. Oftentimes, like you said in the video, people can mistake "Americanized" foods sold in American grocery stores or restaurants as authentic while that's not always the case. If we don't do our due diligence, this can be costly to culturally authentic businesses like H-Mart. Correct representation and information is key and part of ongoing historical and cultural significance in the world. Great video!!
I have to admit that I watch your videos because Mommy Oh is so cute. She seems to have gotten a lot more comfortable in front of the camera! Pretty soon she will need her own channel!
the galbi from TJs is one of the things I always buy when I am there. My whole family loves it. I also love the barley tea but I always drink it cold and slightly sweetened it almost has a coffee like flavor to it
Love it! Thanks for doing this. I used to shop at TJ's a lot and didn't realize they had even that many Korean foods. As someone said you might have overlooked the scallion pancakes. I agree with Mina about the Galbi. Yum!
Hi Mina! Just wanted to say as a fan I am so proud of you, and your work! I was actually worried this pandemic might hurt your channel etc but you still find very interesting video ideas with still considering everyone's safety. Lots of love x
This was super helpful Mina and Mama Oh! I was going to go on a Trader Joe's run after work and I now know what to get! Gonna skip all the mediocre items so thank you for helping me save money as well.
Thanks for this - I never thought to look for Korean foods at Trader Joe's. They have a store in my general area, but not real close, so I don't go often - I will now have to make a special trip to check them out.
There is a Korean shop just below my accommodation and I wasn't looking for it until I was minding my own business the other day. When things calm down in my city, I will go to that Korean shop and try the food out for myself. The Korean food looks delicious!
I love that you did this video! Being non-Korean but grew up eating Korean food, I was curious of the Korean TJ items since it's just across the street. TJ's is just more for a quick and convenience shop. I've tried the bibimbap and it lacked flavor. Thanks for your opinion on the kimchi. I'll continue to buy at the Korean markets. However, when I tried the kalbi, I was quite impress with the flavors and it is pretty close to a restaurant. I make my own kalbi and I don't make it as sweet but this one is still good. I can get my quick kalbi fix with TJ's because it's pretty convenient when I'm lazy! I'm one of those who cut between the bones and clean that bone dry.. nothing is left!
Good Friday Miss Mina & Mommy Oh! Not all Korean BBQ Buffet Restaurant owners are Koreans! I found the food was too or extremely sweet and it was Chinese owned.
I got my annyeong chingudeul shirt on, a hot cup of freshly brewed boricha, and leftover spicy lotus root as a snack while watching. I came prepared today!!! :D
ohhhhh this time I am early! 😂 been watching your videos for the whole week and thinking when is the next upload then here you goooooooo 😂 BTW I was just watching your Jejudo vlog earlier 😂 then I stopped watching on YT then came back and saw that had I didn't do something out of YT, I could have been one of the first viewer 😂 Annyeong hasaeyo, Mommy Oh! 💕 Watched you since the 'How to Learn Hangul' days where you were playing lots of character then got lost, and found you again with Mommy Oh when you visited Manila. 💕 Saranghaeyo, Minassi and Mommy Oh! 💋
Hi Miss Mina, I love watching your videos. Maybe you can do one on Korean restaurants in the Seattle area. I'll be traveling there soon and I always seek our Korean food. Would love your opinion.
#124!!! Ms Mina is back!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trader Joe's has everything (TJ). Bi Bim Bap needs more gochugang!!! Wasabi kim blows Mina away!!! It can also be, dating, that the first one would have been the best, but you let them go...That green pad is a kneeling pad, Mina. To save your knees when gardening or doing other work. Loved the vid!!!
I'm so lucky that I have a Korean convenience store down the street from me and they make the BEST kimchi there. It's my favorite. I wish I could make it as good as they do!
Barley tea is good, but I also like corn silk tea. Sesame oil definitely makes things taste better. That microwave interference at the end though...LOL
I think I'll try H Mart! Have you tried GimMe? It is a better Korean Gim and it is organic. Amazon has it. I will be in Seattle in mid-May. I love your videos.
I remember when we had BBQ I would always get the steaks and the bits with bones as a child and spent hours just making it perfectly clean it was so much fun for some reason

Loveee you mina!!♥️♥️
Hello miss Mina!
I am actually just watching it now lol
Your mother looks absolutely gorgeous! 💞
I would love to try any Korean foods especially rice cakes.
I love those "seaweed snacks" I eat then by themselves, with rice, with soup doesn't matter. LOVE them !
If you ever make instant ramen, it's also the perfect condiment.
they are so good with plain white rice.
Mommy Oh is like the sweetest person ever. She seems like the type of person that would never judge you. Virtual hugs to you Mina and Mommy Oh!
Miss Mina's voice is relaxing ❤️❤️❤️
Yes agreed
Minaaa thanks for always lighting up my days for so many years now... wish we could give you something back as well🥲
So happy to hear our videos light up your days! Your viewership is a gift to me 😘
Ms Mina’s overreaction and overacting to wasabi seaweed vs Mummy Oh’s nonchalance makes dear old Mum so cool!
your words about kimchi inspires me haha because I've tried kimchi from Walmart and it didn't taste right so I spit it out and now your words really got me thinking I should keep trying different kimchi because I need to find the right one I like.

I love the fact that you and Mommy Oh's glasses are the same color, so cute!

I love watching you and Mommy Oh. Mommy Oh reminds me of my mom. I miss her so much 😭
The conversation about finding the right kimchi got deal for a second.
I agree. The only kimchi I like is from Korean market called Apple Tree. I tried it from Costco but it was just a huge bottle of no flavor cabbage yuk! The right kimchi is important.
Where i live theres a store called green market and i buy my kimchi there
@@nacanacadelconde5974 glad you found a dependable source hihi 👍

It's our silly way to say "bye bye" 😄💕
Relieved the galbi was decent ☆ never tried store-bought kimchi but sounds super convenient
Topic ides: If you have not already done one can you please do a video on Kimchi. Taste vs fermentation, what to look for in stores. I see lots of Kimchi when I go to H-Mart and I never know what to get
Ohhh, this is a great idea. I get very overwhelmed at H-Mart.

14:55 sitting by myself practicing saying "bulgogi" over and over again hoping no one notices
Yes, evidently I've been saying it wrong for years.

The Korean food looks delicious!
I love how you describe the taste of the foods you and your mom tried
"It's like dating. You're going to have to go through multiple guys and girls..." and Mommy Oh is intently looking at you.
She didn't stutter though the joys of multiple dating😂😂
When you said tea's name out loud for some reason my mouth watered up...idk why XD

Yeah,.. your UA-cam is up! Looking forward every 2 weeks
I add extra frozen spinach & cook a scrambled egg for the frozen bibimbap. Not Korean but I like trader joe's teriyaki seaweed snacks.
Have you tried the Scallion Pancakes from Trader Joe’s? There are oyster mushrooms inside and I think they are very tasty!
I don’t think I could live without Trader Joe’s. Literally so good and everything tastes delicious. Try the Pork Bao Buns. They are SO GOOD!
Mommy Oh's reaction the the wasabi seaweed versus Miss Mina's reaction to it is hilarious
Mommy Oh took it like a boss lol
Dope slapping myself. Of course the seaweed sheets would be much better as a wrapper than a chip. Now I will get some!
