Excited you reacted to the ASTRO guide! :) Check the kpop recommendations channel in your discord for links to all the recommended shows in the guide. Learning about ASTRO was so much fun. MJ was the biggest "WTF?" for me because he has this beautiful voice and always looks so.. idk, normal? lol but then you watch ASTRO content and he is so cracked lol. Oh, and MJ has been in every ASTRO M/V. He did Candy Sugar Pop (their latest comeback) with them before he left for the military, and ASTRO hasn't had another comeback yet since then. When you listen to their songs, those high notes in the background are usually MJ.
astro are really good in varieties shows but most of them are usually not accessible to international fans or only in paid sites. they are one of the cracked groups out there. i hope you react to astro zone and check their on going ddoca vlogs on your freetime, theyre on astro yt acc. you can see how great their bond is and how funny these dorks are.
Trot is a folk genre of Korea its very popular amongst Korean audiences. A trot idol group would be a group of idols doing trot music which is sort of unheard of. not many idols lean towards the trot genre

Mj has been in all MVs just not in the candy sugar pop promotions
Moonbin is such a good big brother to Moonsua he is so supportive and very proud of her finally debuting last year! They recently did a performance together with music bank called candy in my ears they ate both amazing performers! Sua is a rapper and Billie and they are def. worth checking out too!

thanks for reacting to the astro guide!! i'm always reminded of one vlog that they did around knock era where jinjin said something like, "every member of astro says he is the most normal member, but there are no normal members in astro." i think the clips from this guide really prove it lol
as someone else mentioned here, trot is kind of like the original korean pop music. i think it could definitely be described as a kind of folk pop but i like to think of it like korean disco music. it has a very distinctive sound and style of singing. if you can find it (it used to be on viki but not anymore so idk where to watch the whole thing), the reality show that mj was on that made the trot idol group was called favorite entertainment (최애 엔터테인먼트) and it was really fun to watch. there are clips of it on youtube.
