Story of my life I remember practicing at 15 in high school in my Garage of course when I first tried to do Metal vocals I was literally screaming without any technique I remember my Mother and Grandfather telling me to get inside and shut up but eventually I learned false cord and everything changed.
@@Keezawea Compare him now- studio and live to 20 years ago. His high screams now are blown out (lack body) his growl is lower and he doesn’t sing as fast. But most simpletons will say he is ‘the same’ as VILE just because his voice is not shot like Barnes.
Are you guys all fucking stupid? Nathan Explosion is BASED off Corpsegrinder not Corpsegrinder based off Nathan. Also Brendan Small voiced Nathan and a cast of other characters in Metalocalypse
Never ever cup your mic. Ever. You are not "focusing the sound". You're expensive cardioid (which requires sound coming from the sides and rear) microphone is designed in a way that makes the sound directional. Cupping and covering the ports on the back turns your mic into an omnidirectional mic which means sound is picked up from everywhere. This (along with having the mic to close to your fucking yap) also means you lose proximity effect and causes your tone to thin out.
THIS THIS THIS!!!! Seriously, mic cupping doesn't make anyone sound brutal, in the name of Glenn Fricker, "If you wanna get power out of your voice, USE YOUR FUCKING VOICE MEATHEAD!!!"
George is so awesome he cuts out the bullshit and gets straight to the point and his death metal growls are soo sick :P people assume doing shouts and growls is easy but when i started i passed out because i wasn't breathing right haha
It's just a matter of definition. What counts as singing? Growling is (in most cases) pitchless, so one could count it as a percussive/rythmic vocal style. I agree with you however.
There's another thing, even if Corpsegrinder wasn't good (he's good to me) he's a kickass guy, I met him a few times at concerts and his awesome and METAL is the primary thing for him always! he's a true metalhead too because he likes most genres (most good genres that is) of metal including Black Metal. Chris Barnes was awesome on his time with CC also...
I was a huge fan of George when he was in Monstrosity. I preferred his performances on those albums more than his work on CC. Gallery Of Suicide is probably my favorite performance in CC.
Dude if i went to my GF's house for dinner and CorpseGrinder opened the door, i would literally shit my pants. Imagine the classic "dont break my daughters heart" speech but from him. Fucking epic.
he did go to german contestshow and tryed to sing i will kill you.. (just for fun) now they areanged an interview with him and george (that`s the backgroundstory) i`m sure he knows he don`t sound that good, but it was just for fun aniway
such a shame this guy who was at the german talent show, he growls the way people are making fun of while refering to metal "oh it's all screaming, shouting and only aggressions". Like George said it's about getting the air out from the stomach right up! I prefer the exhale technique
Yeah. All their albums were banned down here in Aus from like, '94 to '02, but now you can buy their mild albums like Evisceration Plague, but you gotta illegaly download there more brutal, sick stuff. And thats why I love them.
after months and months that i listen george well finally i can say that my growl is like his growl (he beat me but i've learned) sry for my bad english
That dude on the left doesnt seem to be to stoked standing next to Corpsegrinder..One of the most BRUTAL vocalists in Death metal!!!! i would probably be on the floor twitching from excitement. ..fucking love cannibal corpse!!
@oOMuzicBoxOo That's not true, just saw an interview(2010) where he just talked about the fact that there is nothing wrong with being gay but he is not. But if you think he is homophobic by saying that he is not, and doesnt want people to think he is, then you have a problem with interpretation dude.
@DimeLivesInUs I know. They say English is a difficult language to learn, but German has all the complexities and subtleties of English, if not more! Oh, and it's a real pleasure finding a fellow metalhead that uses proper English. Pantera was an incredible band, and Dimebag was an insane guitarist. Don't really need to tell you though. :D
I took his tips and tried it... It's the vid once you click my channel. The loudest vocals I've ever done lol =D Did Festering In The Crypt (a small part of it). It work though, take his advice seriously.
george is one big dude. one big dude that i would hate to mess with. not only is he huge, but knowing the lyrics that he writes it would be very scary if he were to come after you. . .
@Talmanonn I'm learning doing the diafragm shit, It's just about standing with your feet below your shoulders(fucked up explanation, stand up*). And then it's just to push like a madman. And it don't sound as good as when I'm using my throat more but It'll come I think. And If u don't growl often then you won't destroy your voice in that short period(when it hurts stop) Amon Amarth!!!
@robonez because it's just the style of the vocals that adapted with the music...i can't exactly imagine George singing "Rotted Body Landslide" in the traditional sense, can you? "Climbing the mounds to escape from death Ten thousand left to rot In this gorge Bodies lie Putrefy I wont die Suffocating stench of corpse's wafts Up from the bits of deaths Fumes disgorge Rancid heap Walls steep Vapors creep Underneath Putrid tide Rotted body Land" yeah...didnt think so...
@robonez yeah,of course.it's a little more complicated than "stomach gas",but i get what you're saying.the band Finntroll has often done unplugged songs on their records and their current singer is very good both with metal vocals and singing harmonically,i guess is the word you'd use.
yeah,he plays the guy in the mask who trys to destroy dethklok.he almost got to kill toki and skwisgaar on the last episode of season 1.king diamond guest stars on occasion too.
If you want to learn how to use the diaphragm I suggest you either take lessons, or even check some of the techniques in a "Singing for Dummies" book. I found some great breathing techniques in that book and didn't even have to buy it.
i dont understand english, my first language is spanish, i can understand george but the other 2 guys talk british accent? because is hard to understand for me
Corpsegrinder's lungs and diaphragm alone could beat the shit out of me.
Randal Graves 😂
Same hahaha.
😂😂😂😂 I'm stealing this, I like it!
"I'm screaming in my room and my mom is telling me to shut the hell up"
I love that "......aaaand now....we're here" haha
The story of every death metal vocalists life. I can vouch. And my mom was catholic....
Story Of My Life

Yeah it's cool but you should do it more like this.*Gives an amazing growl.*
Gotta whole lot more respect for George as a person knowing he's never smoked anything.
PokeWalkthroughHD unlike Barnes
one of the best death metal vocalist!
Corpsegrinder is my favorite death metal vocalist. The fact that his voice hasn't changed since Vile is amazing. What a crazy human being :)
Not true.
@@bumface1810not true ☝️🤓

@@Keezawea What's not true? Corpsegrinder's scream is fried and he can't / doesn't sing as fast as 20 years ago.
There's something about George just standing there with his arms crossed that kills me every time.
Not only is he an amazing death metal singer, he seems like a fuckin' great guy in general. Long live Cannibal Corpse!
George Corsegrinder Fisher has an amazing voice! Great growling technique!
stop cupping the mic! lol glenn will love this
Herbahl Sauceda he kinda looks like Glenn
Richie Williams and sounds like glen with a lower voice 😂
wow his speaking voice is so.. soft. That's so unlike his growls. Best death metal vocalist \m/
Nathan Explosion!
Yeah corpse grinder is the man with the silver mask. The metal masked assassin.
Are you guys all fucking stupid? Nathan Explosion is BASED off Corpsegrinder not Corpsegrinder based off Nathan. Also Brendan Small voiced Nathan and a cast of other characters in Metalocalypse
Dethklok dethklok dethklok dethklok
i love how fisher always takes over the interview.
George is amazing
I love how he loves Death and Kreator...two of my favorite bands!

You basically quoted Fricker's video...
I know damn well they didn't film it in this quality.
He has a speaks pretty soft but he has really spine chilling growls!
Death growling tends to do that to your voice.
One man does not simply tries to sing infront of corpsegrinder.!
This is like watching Gillette Penn being a judge on The Voice.
did you film this with a potato? lol
Fernando Juliano lmaooo
I've always found that the diaphragm makes a very dramatic difference. He's so right.
that growl at 1:58 tho!!
I’m always thinking “Why does he stand like that and I remember oh it’s his neck
George is so awesome he cuts out the bullshit and gets straight to the point and his death metal growls are soo sick :P
people assume doing shouts and growls is easy but when i started i passed out because i wasn't breathing right haha
Meanwhile corpsegrinder just beeing himself telling this boy how to do things without even faking or some shit. George is a true legend.!
It's just a matter of definition. What counts as singing? Growling is (in most cases) pitchless, so one could count it as a percussive/rythmic vocal style.
I agree with you however.
I actually spoke to George Fisher after a show, he stood with us and chatted for a good 20mins.
"What can he expect?"
"Death Metal."
haha, good answer :D
corpsegrinder is one of the best live voices of death metal. hes really good
corpseginder looks a lot bigger than he really is
Thanks man! I had no idea you could order them in. And her I've been, downloading their stuff like an asshole. So thanks. :)
That's awesome that George learnt from Chuck Schuldiner (RIP).
Finally Someone explains what it should feel like to growl! Thank you George!!! He is one of the top three best growlers in my opinion

Getting a growling lesson from Corpsegrinder himself. I'd be honored, not insulted.
"...and my mother's yellin' at me to shut the hell up...and now...we're here." I like that line. :)

Ah makes sense :)
i have to say corpsegrinder gave some pretty good advice on growling, i like the fact that he was putting down cupping the mic
i love how when hes talking about smoking the camera turns on to the kid and he just looks at the camera. u can just tell geroge was talking about him
the kid had a cool experience meeting him and hes just happy for the oportunity. cool video!
@Neuroneos Antii Boman? I didn't know that but Nespithe is one of my favorite albums ever.
Loved him as the voice of the Metal-Masked Assassin on Metalocalypse!!
All the powerful vocalists have huge necks :D
hahaha! corpsegrinder was being nice and polite when he said "yeah, it's cool..."
Even that cough at 4:17 was metal af
Damn! Corpsegrinder has inspired me to try out the death growl. It's much easier when you use your diaphragm.
@effrainm
short hair?? his hair is long, its to his shoulders, thats long in my book.
Do I need to put on glasses? damn
I posted a video of myself growling on fb and got compared to “female version” of corpsegrinder multiple times😂💗💗
such a shame this guy who was at the german talent show, he growls the way people are making fun of while refering to metal "oh it's all screaming, shouting and only aggressions". Like George said it's about getting the air out from the stomach right up! I prefer the exhale technique
honestly the best death metal vocalist for lows.
Cupping the mic is essential for several growling styles, especially those ultra low gutteral gurgles found in many goregrind acts.
Yeah. All their albums were banned down here in Aus from like, '94 to '02, but now you can buy their mild albums like Evisceration Plague, but you gotta illegaly download there more brutal, sick stuff. And thats why I love them.

If you watch the video "Metal Idols", that teen is on there!
lmao i love how it does a close up of his tattoo when he says he tries to take care of his body as best as possible :P
you could listen to it but they couldnt play it live and there 1st 3 albums were banned unless they were censored
dude the have never been banned in germany only the first three albums are
banned
no they don't but he's guest starred on the show a few times

fischer is fisher but in german.... the whole tag idea is to write words that warent written on the description\title itsef...
8:19 Hell yeah !! \m/
George Corpseteacher Fisher
why did people thumbs down this?
the three first CC albums (eaten back to life, butchered at birth and tomb of the mutilated) were banned in Germany
i know it was at the mayhem fest which is gonna be fun but where wer they cause im getting something signed by them there one of my fav bands!
@TyrellR77
i dont think he's the guy who get's angry easily, he seems like a very nice person

He is like "Puny human with puny voice" when he is asked what he thinks of that I Will Kill You attempt.
"i will kill you" is the song
thanks
144p is more brutal than his growl
I took his tips and tried it... It's the vid once you click my channel. The loudest vocals I've ever done lol =D Did Festering In The Crypt (a small part of it). It work though, take his advice seriously.
That kid is perfectly fine just standing there. He's like, in awe that he's standing there with corpsegrinder
george is one big dude. one big dude that i would hate to mess with. not only is he huge, but knowing the lyrics that he writes it would be very scary if he were to come after you. . .
AHAHA! HAve you tried putting it on the "CC" captions?! It is HILERIOUS!
feels like corpsegrinder is a cool guy to talk to
the other two guys are german, not british. sometimes the guys are talking in german as well
why are you talking about In Flames?!
Cannibal Corpse ROCKS!!!

Amon Amarth!!!
Martin Hedberg don't use your throat ever dude and it should never hurt
"...wo die Ziege den Honig hat..."? Das hab ich ja noch nie gehört - was'n geiler Spruch :D
@GodScoutSavage thanks for the input, nerd
@robonez because it's just the style of the vocals that adapted with the music...i can't exactly imagine George singing "Rotted Body Landslide" in the traditional sense, can you?
"Climbing the mounds to escape from death
Ten thousand left to rot
In this gorge
Bodies lie
Putrefy
I wont die
Suffocating stench of corpse's wafts
Up from the bits of deaths
Fumes disgorge
Rancid heap
Walls steep
Vapors creep
Underneath
Putrid tide
Rotted body
Land"
yeah...didnt think so...
wow I'm proud of my self I could understand almost everything in the German language...looks like my lessons finally started having effects ^^
I love Fisher
@robonez yeah,of course.it's a little more complicated than "stomach gas",but i get what you're saying.the band Finntroll has often done unplugged songs on their records and their current singer is very good both with metal vocals and singing harmonically,i guess is the word you'd use.
why couldnt they play hammer smashed face live in germany? because of barnes?
yeah,he plays the guy in the mask who trys to destroy dethklok.he almost got to kill toki and skwisgaar on the last episode of season 1.king diamond guest stars on occasion too.
This one is a classic clip. 🤘👍
I find it hard to believe that george has never smoked weed.......hes from buffalo ny....is that possible???
@SlugInYoChest Read what Corpsegrinder said at the end, if you call metal bullshit then those words he said apply to you!
If you want to learn how to use the diaphragm I suggest you either take lessons, or even check some of the techniques in a "Singing for Dummies" book. I found some great breathing techniques in that book and didn't even have to buy it.
i dont understand english, my first language is spanish, i can understand george but the other 2 guys talk british accent?
because is hard to understand for me
i love unending arguments
does chris barnes inward growl? ik this has nothing to do with corpsegrinder but does he do it?
Are either of them approaching even half of 40 years?
