President Joe Biden and his Republican rival, former President Donald Trump, meet for the first debate of the 2024 election in Atlanta, Georgia, a state expected to play a pivotal role in November after it tipped the scales in Biden's favor in 2020.
Thursday night, Biden, the Democratic incumbent, gets the chance to reassure voters that, at 81, he’s capable of guiding the U.S. through a range of challenges. The 78-year-old Trump, meanwhile, could use the moment to try to move past his felony conviction in New York and convince an audience of tens of millions that he’s temperamentally suited to return to the Oval Office.

Unemployment rates are up but its also an inflated number due to the gig economy.... but that wasn't Bidens doing. The gig economy is a corporate dream to unfairly treat "employees". They don't have to grant benefits for contracted positions.

So that location actually isn't hiring, but may be an hour away (which in many cases you can't recoup the money due to commute or can't get to the location consistently. Not to mention they like to have a backlog of applications for individuals incase someone leaves. Doesn't mean they will hire you, it just means their employees are viewed as expendable. Not to mention that application systems are heavily reliant on AI which filters out a lot of people for many reasons from name, race, and disability or even if you are over qualified. Many unemployed people are individuals that are actually over qualified due to past employment or education.

My only praise towards Trump is that he's basically perfect at speaking. Tonight, he did great. He lied about every three seconds, deflected every question, and painted Joe Biden exactly as he wanted to for his Republican voters. Joe Biden did all right, but he stutters and messes up too much. It's bad for his image. However, Joe Biden simply denying falsehoods that Trump spewed is pretty much good enough for a lot of Democrat voters to want to get to the polls to try and elect someone who is not Donald Trump.
It's such an embarrassment that we've come to this point.

Biden , what a bell end
1. Tariffs will actually increase inflation as we don't produce the majority of goods that we consume. Manufacturing jobs are the only way to produce good... they don't come from thin air. And many of the parts used in products will cause costs to increase. That's how prices work. Not only that but it would hurt smaller business as they already pay higher shipping rates than corporations; and in many cases will force them to close because there are little to no production options in the US. How does someone in "business" not understand how business works?
2. The stock market isn't the same as the economy. The majority of the citizens reap zero benefit from it. A company's profits do not reflect the lives of their employees. It doesn't go to the employees.
3. Aren't we the United States.... aren't women's rights a united issue? Or you could make it smaller... how about family or the woman themselves.... shouldn't they be able to govern themselves (family is the smallest form of government)? The states are taking that right away. And immigration has nothing to do with abortion rights... stay on topic. Abortions rights have nothing to do with murdering healthy 9 month old babies. That's not how it works. If a mothers life is in peril, she can have another offspring when circumstances are better. Even having a D&C for miscarriages count as having an abortion. Do you plan on paying for medical aid for children with extreme disabilities (they will have to live their lifetime with)?
4. Terrorists aren't brown.... some of our states contain large numbers of hate groups. Crime numbers are actually statistically one of the lowest in history right now.
5. Trump said deceased veterans were weak during his term.
6. Putin's a mad man... And it has nothing to do with "respect" or "Biden". Ukraine needs aid. Giving him the Ukraine doesn't stop the blood shed or the war. We could withdraw offense funding for Israel, retain defense, and aid Ukraine more.
7. Iran is involved because Israel damaged their own. Israel has some really great defense equipment; they do not need to attack like they have been especially when Palestine doesn't.
8. Answer the question... do you support an independent Palestine? Since Israel was created by England and the US in the first place... do you support an independent Palestine? Palestine deserves to be free as well. You can't be a gang lord and state "you require people to pay for your protection"... you are apart of NATO... do you know what being apart of NATO means?

11. More campaign money isn't actually a good thing. That's the opposite of a fair race. You also raised those funds at parties by bribing billionaires with financial protection if they support you. That's actually one of the biggest issues with our campaign system in this country. There should not be money in politics.
12. Many black families are in the states that have no access to abortion rights. Though yes more should be done as financially black communities have had far less opportunities to even get on an equal playing field. This was before inflation. Inflation is caused but the corporations.... you can't say they have record profits and then say it's because of mandatory inflation. Inflation didn't have to happen like it did. They did it by choice and Trump promised those billionaires more protection.
13. Immigration... rather than blame the immigrants that are fleeing for their safety and statistically less likely to do crime in fear of deportation, why not blame companies and farmers for 1: Using their lack of citizenship against them. 2: Using them as slave labor (which they literally set up trailers for their "workers" to stay). 3: Not paying actually living wages that could support citizens to live.
14. Trump said that we could help climate change by adding more cars on the road last election period. He does not know how pollution works.
15. Wealthier should pay their fair share.... why ask that question when Trump literally has not paid his fair share?
16. Again stay on topic..... the drug deaths.... first ask the question of what causes drug addiction. In many cases, its a symptom. Addiction is an illness often due to mental health issues... you could increase aid and affordability of mental health care access.
17. Age is an issue... but for both of them... it should have a cut off at 55.
*Please use facts. Honestly I think there should be more moderation. So I honestly blame them. Moderation isn't reading questions from a paper. Rather than allowing this turn into a feces fight for ratings... they could actually hire fact checkers and stop them when they say something false.

Another 2 trillion will be added to the deficit for wealthy corporation tax breaks. The FBI will be dismantled. The department of education will be dismantled, as well as the department of commerce. The doj will be defunded. Local police officers will be required to do controversial monitoring like stop and frisk, which will violate our fourth amendment rights. They plan to do away with the law that protects civil servants that currently work for the government. They will reclassify a job as political so that they can fire anyone who isn't loyal to Trump, and jobs will be filled based on someone's loyalty to Trump instead of their qualifications. This will literally create a deep State instead of cleaning anything up. The Federalist society and other dark monies have created this so that's a can push their agenda and keep a so that's a can push their agenda and keep people in their places with a small number who are controlling everything. They plan to outlaw the abortion medication which is used by 2/3 of women for abortions, not through Congress but since loyalists will be instilled in the FDA all they have to do is get the FDA to recall the medication. Joe Biden is full of flaws, but I will miss our democracy when it's gone. Please read project 2025, and make sure that you are actually educated on what you are voting for. I know a lot of trump supporters seem to think it's us against them but we are all United States citizens. I know Donald Trump thinks other countries pay tariffs but that's not how it works we will have to pay 10% minimum tariffs on All imports and that is going to increase inflation by 3%. There will be another 2 trillion added to the deficit to give tax breaks to wealthy corporations. The only reason gas was that low while Trump was in office was because covid was going on and he had the mandatory lockdown which crashed the economy and no one was driving. Especially the part where they are undoing the law so that they can fire civil servants who have worked for the government but not considered in a political position. They intend to change the labels of the positions to make them political so that they can hire people who are loyal to Trump rather than how qualified they are.
