Trade is so toxic in POE2, I've been playing SSF instead and having a blast. Constantly using exalts on gear has been satisfying my dopamine needs nicely.
This is a developer problem, these issues mostly exist because of their insistence on not creating an auction house system imo. Putting items in a “third party” system like a broker could solve this issue. PoE 1 on console has this system and it works. Trade ratings could work however I see a potential misuse of a system like that. Unregulated trade doesn’t have large scale or long term viability it can lead to a loss of player retention. Scamming is just an optimal strategy when separated from the moral complications and oversight, I mean at the end of the day it is just a game but you are still manipulating a real person on the other end.

Another one is putting in different currency. I've seen this a few times now, maybe they're banking on the different (new for poe2), but quite similar looking currency graphics. I'll have something listed for a couple div, and they'll put in a couple - the ones I've seen so far - Chaos or Alchemy.
there's another scam like 4th, where lets say item is 5div and 40 ex, they will put 5 div or 5 div and 20 ex and cancel trade then put 1 div and 40 ex at that point you're checking the 40 ex making sure thats right but you miss that its 1div instead of 5, i've seen a lot of ppl get scammed like this, even got scammed myself once, sounds obvious once u hear it but when u've never heard about it it can easily work on you.
In the first scam, what happens when they change the listed price? Like if you list an item for 15 Divines but they change the chat to say 1 Divine, can you still cancel the trade when they only offer 1 Divine in the Trade window instead of 15?
Yes of course both parties must accept at trade window. Just double check items and currency quantity paid every trade and you will catch these shady acts quickly

Sometimes i answer to whispers offering me lets say 5 ex with 6 ex, inviting people and not trading an item being drinking tea or searching browser, maybe they will learn some day. Don't know if its too rude but i dont care.
